@@mattd8484 No, here's the thing: The gorn is extremely slow, but powerful. It has something to do with the gravity and physics of their home planet. Look into it. I think the gorn are from a high gravity world. So that Boulder was nothing for him. But his predatory abilities are slow and insufficient when dealing with a low gravity situation and a quick human like kirk. Look at footage of aldrin and Armstrong and other astronauts trying to walk on the moon. It's pathetic. They fall over for no reason. They are incredibly slow and akward. But they have incredible strength on the moon, and could lift massive boulders if they wanted to. That is what the star trek writers were trying to go for, here. It makes sense when you think about it. This planet was not the gorn's homeworld. It was just an arena, chosen for battle by a 3rd party

Things I learned while watching this. Gorns have excessive phlegm in their throats, therefore constantly having to hack to clear their throats. Gorns lift heavy objects, incorrectly, without bending at the knees, therefore putting strain on their lower backs. Gorns have strong rib cages, that can deflect small boulder-sized projectiles, without cracking their ribs on impact. Gorns have a very tender weak spot, their temples..

No they where both teleported on that Asteroid(yeah it's an Asteroid...) to Fight to death by another highly intelligent species. if he had lost the whole Enterprise and the Crew would be destroyed too. Cause they made a mistake and attacked the Gorn ship Cause they thought they where invading a friendly outpost of them but in reallity their Guys invaded Gorn theritory and they just fought Back. and that highly intelligent species people said that humans are animals and they should prove that they're are better and All and so they teleported both Captains to that Asteroid to Fight to death

@@danieldraws7991 Oh they're on an asteroid? Holy crap that actually explains how Kirk picked up a rock that looked to weigh about 100 lbs and throws it like 20 feet easily, while the Gorn picks up a boulder that would weigh like 2000 lbs on Earth and chucks it upwards so hard that it actually comes down on Kirk from a super high angle above him. It's because they're actually in a micro gravity environment! Trek gets bashed for being unscientific, but man you gotta give it to them in this episode. Eat your heart out Neil deGrasse Tyson.
