@@walterwhite5354 Rom was a murderous fiend in the beginning. Go back to the season 1 DS9 episode called 'The Nagus' where he tried to kill Quark. But the writers completely retooled the character to make Rom into a bumbling but lovable and good-hearted genius. In my opinion, the inconsistency of Rom is one of the biggest mistakes made on DS9. They could have gradually had him change from how he was originally into a more likable character a few seasons into the series. Instead, they forced the change unnaturally and pretty much created a completely different character who happened to be named Rom.

Again I find nothing but nitpicking and ignorance of basic logic: Rom was character Development/general underestimation of him. Matresses are often integral to most bed designs. You only get a Bed Base underneat: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed_base So removing them anywhere but the Defiant was not possible. The defiant had that nice "solid slab" design. Kahn: Nope, Starfleet Captains do not know 300 year old guys by their *face.* Heck, nobody even noticed that this one Historical Character looks a *lot* like Benjamin Sisko. Because he time travelled to become him. And if you notice, even the Enterprise crew had do get a refresher on him. I do know who Genghis Khan and Napoleon are, even if I could not *put a face to them.* Heck give him a shave, and I would propably not notice Hitler. And I am a german, that is literaly history for me. Chakotay: He might have re-considerd on the 7 years of journey. Or just choose to ignore that for a date with 7 of 9. And you *can* roast vegetables quite well. Roasted Potates would like to confirm that. Safety routines: Belana was already Chief Engineer. This was a shuttle. And she was the only XO on that suttle. Borg Reproduction: Yes, the vision of the Borg changed by "Best of both Worlds". And they stuck with that ever since. By 7of9 times they might have stopped doing that altogether. Honor & Hostages: "With a few exceptions, no Klingon in that time had any honor." - Star Trek Online about TOS times. Klingon Transformation: Why would he know about it? That is a part of 200 years of History with very low relevancy for every day work. Euydian Thumbs: Maybe that guy had just lost his thumbs? Makeup details. Very nitpicky. Symbiont and Transport: He was *injured.* Transports can be deadly for Injured people in a lot of cases. Heck, Bashir once moved a Fetus to save it for a long yourney and that is *less* disruptive then a transport. Travel Planning: Most civilian ships do *not* make warp 9.8. And they might even have intentional speed limits, due to subspace damage caused by warp travel. I mean he even mentions that it would take *only weeks* with the Enterprise. Regrowth: Kidney != Every organ. Dyalisis != Kidney missing. Layperson != doctor. A lot of organs may have unique ease of regrowth. The Liver is *very well* known for it's regenerative properties in todays time, for example. Regeneration might even be part of it's normal operating procedure. *IF* you still got 25% left, you can regrow a fulyl functional: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liver#Liver_regeneration Sickbay Items: Do I need to explain the difference between a historical display and tools? DNA: A few years between those. And there are *lot* of levels of analyzing DNA. DNA Services only decode like 0.02% of your DNA kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6q1mJ5ueNagsMk That little should be possible with a Tricorder too. Finding Data: They only picked up the general signature, still needing to find Before the hard way. Also this was a Trap by Nero. And Data was *dead* at this very moment. They needed to find his grave. Shields: The shields were focussed (and taxed to the limit) into holding the door open and the ship was like 100 yeras old. Technolog evolves. Fire: They definitely said "Fire supression is not working", and you are just being a Idiot ignoring that part. Jem Hadar wore armor. And Refire rate is *very* important in combat. And you only need to take out supports to collapse most buildings. Speed of light: Well, romulus should not have been destroyed by a supernova without literal decades to prepare. Except it travelled in subspace most of the way. Apparently something in this way of blowing up suns works the same way? The Child: Except the differentiation happens on Hormonal basis and this was a life energy entity. Sound: There is this technology called "Radio". It does travel through space. Self Sealing: A borg claw is inteded to cut stuff, *including* getting over self-sealing layers/abilities. A Romulan mines "I need to stick here" rods did not.

At 6:40 the display on the Sick Bay wall doesn't mean McCoy uses these instruments. It is a display of antique surgical instruments that are no longer used by 23rd Century Doctors. A lot of these can be explained by simple arbitrary differences, simple misconceptions, semantics, or even bad context. For example; holideck safety protocols on the Enterprise-D are probably not the same as they are on the Voyager, i.e. the Enterprise requires 2 officers to deactivate safety protocals, Voyager only needs 1: Or Captain Terrel in Star Trek II probably did know Earth history, but he probably didn't think that Khan was Khan when he saw him most likely because he wouldn't have recognized Khan in his aged state, and the unlikelihood of them encountering Khan was very high so there was no reason to expect to find him.

Some of these are really funny because they're obvious errors but some of them could have an explanation, such as 9:34 when Kirk and Spock are in their spacesuits and Kirk is calling Spock to try and wake him. I don't think they were implying Kirk's voice could magically be heard through the vacuum of space, as I would assume their spacesuits have a radio comm system built into them and that's what we were hearing when he was trying to wake Spock.

It's also well established on Star Trek that there are different levels of shields. Any starship will have a navigational shield to protect from space debris etc; they just don't protect from phaser/disruptor fire very well. It seems reasonable to assume that the Jenolan is holding the doors with its navigational shields, not its actual shields. For that matter, it's nearly 100 years older than the Enterprise; it's entirely plausible its shields don't block more advanced transporters. O'Brien managed to beam over to the Phoenix, a much newer ship than the Jenolan, when its shields were raised simply by knowing exactly when to time it between shield cycles.

@Valami Izé no it's not. they would have a communication system built into the suit so they'd still be able to hear each other, not because the sound is traveling though the vacuum. but because it's getting picked up by the mic inside one suit, which transmits a radio signal to the other one, then that one sends the signal it got to the speaker on the inside. and vice versa when the other talks. the suit can take damage, and this still work as long as the audio and transceiver bits aren't hit to badly. and since we don't know where on the suit they are, it's possible they didn't get hit.
@CrossRoadsOfTime
@CrossRoadsOfTime 4 жыл бұрын
@SLOWPOKE RODRIGUEZ the suits are going to be pressurized so that the people inside the suit can breathe. that means there is a medium inside the suit. and that's all you need. because the sound doesn't have to travel between the suits. it just has to travel inside the suit. as they could have the same tech in their comm badges built into the suit, so that the suits are sending signals between each other. This is how all the real Astronauts have done it, sure the real one's have all used headsets. but I honestly don't see why we couldn't use a speakerphone type design if we wanted. and there for not even need to have any visible audio equipment. but still be using such to communicate.

Much of the Mistakes presented in this video could have been due to lack of knowledge when the episode was written and filmed. The Trill Transporter issue could have been resolved between the time the TNG Trill Ambassador incident happened and Dax was introduced. As for some of the continuity errors, Chakotey being a vegetarian and then not could have been simply mistakes between writers not communicating with each other and incomplete character profiles. The Tricorder scanning DNA could have been a new design while the Enterprise Tricorders did not have that functionality yet. Many of the mistakes made between series especial TOS and TNG could largely be explained by outside knowledge of science being vastly different in the 20 years between the two series. As for the disabling of the Safety protocols of the Holodeck, Torres was the chief Engineer and adept at finding work arounds to problems, should could have written a backdoor subroutine into the Holodeck programming that permitted her to disable the Safeties without a second senior officer.

Actually quite a few of these can be reasoned away due to circumstance. For example Worf using quilts and bed linins when Klingons don't use any bed comforts. Worf has grown up with most of his life being spent within the federation, being exposed the their culture. And for Odo when he mentions that Rom isn't very clever, nobody on deep space 9 (except for Rom's son) really knew at that point that Rom was actually talented in the field of engineering since he was firmly under Quarks grasp at the bar. It wasn't until later that he was recognized as a competent engineer by Cheif 0'brian and the rest of the station. Some of the Starfleet rules present in TNG could easily have been changed by the time of Deep space 9 as well as some technological advanced too such as the blood DNA analysis. Some other things can simply be explained as "Good film making" since waiting several minutes for the suns explosion to register would've been a burden on the viewer even if they used a cut or explained it away with more fighting filler. Otherwise there are a few inconsistencies here and there. Mainly with the cannon of the old show and the Borg between TNG and Voyager. Fortunately it seems a good deal of this comment section agrees on this. Paying closer attention is usually the key here. Its not being nerdy its just called good observation haha.

About detecting drones from light years away, while having problems with recovering data of pre-warp civilizations without breaking the prime directive, no, most androids emit subspace signals, and all of them emit radio and electronic signatures, wi-fi, whatever, that travel the speed of light and are detectable by sensors, they're not as good when listening to conversations, and even if they were, you need a closer look to know what your seeing, locate and replicate copies of their books and art, to know why what your seeing is what your seeing and why is it there, you can't do that with droid seeking sensory, specially when the civilization is pre-radio, TV or whatever. The opposable thumbs was great tho, I didn't realize that one and it's kinda obvious lol.
