@Paul Bon *eat And it's by no means merely a greatest hits. Yes, the composers used existing Trek themes and leitmotifs. And I say good on them. Use of motifs has long been a part of Trek muisic. But there's a ton of original content here, including several new themes. Also, it's melodic scoring, as opposed to the textual scoring approach so common these days. If liking a melodic approach is me being nostalgic, I plead guilty as charged.

2:28:18 the best rendition of Goldsmith’s theme I’ve ever heard that wasn’t done by Goldsmith himself. The orchestration and mixing specifically stands out so well, putting the instruments usually mixed low (chimes, bells, bass drum) up higher so it punches hard with the accented brass. I feel they knew “this was it” for this theme, as it was for this crew, so they went all out to make this final rendition the absolute best and most powerful they could.

My dad is well into his 70s and has dementia and is most often non verbal... When the _Enterprise_ and _Syracuse_ combination powered up, came proudly out of Spacedock and came about to port, his eyes lit up as if there was some sort of bright spark that had returned as he went "That's my girl!". Then watching the last episode in Picard Season 3 as the combination of the two ships twisted and turned through the Borg cube, the mists of time rolled back to the 1990s, it was 6pm on BBC2 on a Wednesday and we sailed the starship _Enterprise_ once again What price can you put on that?
@samcarpenter_ Жыл бұрын
2:24:06 is probably the single most emotional piece of film/TV soundtrack ever for me. TNG was one of the few things my Dad and I bonded over and we both loved Generations despite its flaws. 'To Live Forever' from Generations, with the 'time is a companion' scene on the bridge of the destroyed D, is one of the most impactful scenes to me personally - I've always gone back and watched that scene throughout so many traumatic moments in my life, including when my Dad passed in 2017 when I was only 18. Hearing that motif again at the end of Season 3, but in a new context with the ship happily being put to rest with dignity and Picard's son off to serve on a new Enterprise, just hit me so hard. What a piece of music.

I do not like how the dissed the Titan. They should have built a new Enterprise. The Titan earned her place in history. The Enterprise G should have been a new class of starship. The Shaw Class. In honor to the hart felt respect. A Captain that felt it every time he lost a crew. No mistake, he watched most of his crew die. Captain Shaw was a man would never send his own to die. Unless he had absolutely no other choice. That man lived through his personal hell twice! He was a dedicated officer. By his own admission. An uptight dude, but a good man. His primary goal was to protect his ship and crew. Even Picard completely understood that. Seven of Nine respected him. Granted, like him. To shit on his legacy was a disrespect.

I love how every theme or overture for all nine movies and the series from the TNG era (minus LD and Prodigy) are featured in some way and ways consistent to when we first them, some decades ago. The alternating use of the TMP March and the TNG overture, the ever so subtle weaving of the Generations theme as the crew steps back onto the D, even the combat theme from WoK as the TITAN and SHRIKE do their little dance of death and portals. The lingering tones of Voyager's theme as the viewer understands that Seven momentary was back on her home. Even Voyage Home's can be heard as the viewer settles on the BOUNTY. Nuanced, pulling from all the eras, beautifully interwoven hints of what was, what is and what will be. This music tells the story all by itself.

I realized on my fourth replay of this soundtrack that I'm inserting the engine start up sound at 1:55:00. This has got to be one of the most iconic Star Trek moments to be made in the last 20 years.

It's hard to explain the feelings I get at 9:06 ... the build up, the meshing of different Trek generations, a new mission with Picard and crew, seeing Riker by his side again... everything just rolled up into one beautiful score. I can't figure it out. it's just... perfect.

I absolutely love how in addition to paying Jerry Goldsmith respects for his themes, they also gave James Horner his respects as well for his iconic themes to Star Trek as well. Very well done soundtrack and certainly worthy of an Emmy award.

"The missing part of me" Stunned me with the feels. Star Trek Picard is an understated masterpiece in Audio,Visuals and lore faithfulness. Now we trekkies can forgive for killing off Data; even more is that it never happened. All I hope is that Paramount see's the hype of Picard and Strange new world generated and keep it flowing cause we love this, we love star trek.

Honestly 1:30:28 is the best bit of this soundtrack - turn up the volume and just sit in the sound. Spectacular.
