Still the best immersive media experience ever created. Supposedly Cedar Fair has the sets in storage. Don’t know why they don’t bring this back to one of the parks, just need to pay Paramount for the IP licensing fee.

Agreed. When I first rode this I could NOT beleive how great it was, and I was 30 somthign at the time. Surprising they can't dupicate this. The closest I have seen is the Millenium Falcon ride. But still, not even close.
@MarkLLawrence6 ай бұрын
If Cedar Fair has it and the merger with Six Flags goes through they should set it up at Six Flags Magic Mountain just North of Los Angeles. That would get the park a boost in attendance it needs from all us Trekkies and Trekkers that either missed out or want to experience it again and again. Even adding in an ADA accessable version for those who couldn't ride the original would help tremendously. I know I'd be at that Six Flags once a month minimum if that were to happen.

Went with a lady friend and enjoyed the 3D simulation with the Borg encounter. Except for a slight technical glitch. When a Borg approaches you and tries to implant its nanoprobes, a pneumatic piston on the back of your chair was supposed to thump you in the lower back. The piston on her chair was misaligned and she got thumped in a somewhat more sensitive location. Which resulted in the guy in the seat behind her almost getting knocked clear to Henderson!

@@Dr.W.Krueger : Yeah but it looks like crap. Always unrealistic. Nothing beats physical objects for looking like physical objects. CGI is good for compositing and rendering things that are physically impossible, but otherwise they always look like shit. That's why all modern films look like shit too. Every single shot and every single scene is always digitally enhanced which makes it all look artificial. Usually tinted with yellow as if someone pissed mall over the lens and darkened to crush all the blacks. Nothing looks real anymore. Everything looks like some etherial videogame.
