Watching these videos helps to re-live the joy and excitement of watching the TOS movies when they first hit the screen. (Except for The Final Frontier. That was an uncomfortable experience) Hike Animation IS Star Trek! Doubleplusgood on the Warp Drive entry sequence. Beautifully rendered. The Enterprise or should I say THE Enterprise is like fine bourbon: beautiful, smooth and packs a whallop.

Excellent re-use of existing footage and great audio mixing to make new combinations. I love all of your videos. One of these days you'll have to show us what the inside of the botanical garden looks like since they never showed us and you have the capability to integrate that into one of your awesome videos.

Yes TMP warp effect is the best one... just having a rainbow... and the TNG warp are lack luster to say the least. The warp effect in the Kelvin Universe does not satisfy as well.

Very well done. Attention to detail is superb. I was looking for all the mistakes and I couldn't find any. And there were so many opportunities to make them. Well done. One minor observation, and I apologise for my pedanticism, but if they believed a Klingon ship might be in the area they would already have their shields up and be at yellow alert when dropping out of warp. Obviously for the story which you have created here that's not possible. But that was the only thing that really stood out to me. Everything else was bang on. That and the fact the shields failed for no obvious reason at the worst possible moment. But it's a wonderful piece of work. Nice

I always thought its because Kirk thought if he raises shields early, they Klingons will know the Enterprise is aware of them and will change tactics, the Klingons believed they had the surprise attack and just came head on. If only Scotty expected them to go into Combat, he would have setup the automation properly.. :(

Only issue was Saavik referring to approach of another VESSEL which wouldn't work in this case. Also, the Enterprise would not be leaving the vicinity of the station to go looking around, at least they don't state this in the dialog.

First thing, good work on the this. I do have some questions. 🤔 If we are to take this at face value, the Enterprise should be in working order, unlike in Star Trek III when she had that very same encounter after she was already banged up from the events of TWoK and she was being held together with a lot of jury-rigging, duct-tape, and bypasses to accommodate a crew of five. As I said, the ship should be in good working order even with a training crew and a few experienced officers on board, they should be in relatively good shape. I can buy the shield being flakey and ineffective if this was the garbage Abrams/Kurtzman universes. Sorry to over analyze. 🤷‍♂

personally I think the clue is the reference to the cadets having to grow up - in the original film Sulu couldn't get sheild power after the first shot, assumption - no damage control and few experienced crew, the ones who were were busily holding auxiliary power together and shutting down the mains before they had REAL problems..., the cadets just weren't up to it, and I thikn agian, in this version, it's the cadets not being a trained crew, they've biffed it at the worst moment and caused an exposion in the engine room that Scotty is already dealing with before the klingons get to play shoot the sitting duck...

@@iwantchoccy I see what you're saying, but you are forgetting something, Kirk didn't call for shields in time when Reliant stuck. Engineering is in utter chaos, it's understandable there. Here, they haven't been struck by the BOP as Enterprise fired the first shot. There really shouldn't be any destructive chaos in Engineering as they've not suffered any damage as Kirk called for shields. Training Crew or not, I can't how things deteriorated so drastically.

@@TONYGILLEY they did however call Battle stations, so they were stressed, power had been diverted to weapons systems etc, and they needed to flip it back and it didn't happen etc... in short some new cadet really rotated the puppy ^_^; I'm just trying to headcannon a cool moment so it doesn't throw me ^_^ (really love Scotty's bitching about the systems being overloaded getting shunted to enginieering ^_^)

Your editing and effects are amazing, but this story leaves a lot to be desired. As Capt. Kruge said in ST3, a Constitution class out powers and outguns a KBOP significantly. Enterprise was only weaker in ST3 because it has been badly damaged by Khan in ST2, and incompletely modified to be operated by a crew of 3 afterward. If Enterprise was fully manned and up against an enemy that wasn't familiar with its architecture (as Khan apparently was) it could take significant damage and still defeat the Klingons completely. The best evidence of that was in ST6, where the only thing the A could do was to sit and get shot for most of the battle, and when it was able to fire the modified torpedo, the Klingons lasted only about 15 seconds. Story problems aside, your work here is amazing. I'll excitedly await your next adventure for the 01 Refit as I anticipated this one.

Well done but one thing that always drove me nuts about the next gen movie where a bird of prey gets the Enterprise D shield frequency why not just go toe to toe with her if a constitution class ship out gunned them 10:1 then surely a galaxy class ship could destroy a bird of prey without shields. Sure you’ll take some hits but it will be all over with a few torpedos and phaser volleys

The shields should not have been a problem under these circumstances the ship wouldn’t be unmanned. The reason.her shields failed was one the damage from Star Trek 2 Secondly the computer was over loaded because of the lack of a full crew Three the hit taken with her shields down caused the electrical system to send a shock wave across the computer system because Scotty hot wired the ship during the battle in Star Trek two. A fully manned Enterprise wouldn’t have had the first problem because the automation system would have been over loaded in the first place

Enterprise´s torpedoes should destroy the Bird of Prey. STIII is so boring and bad written. It desrespects Federation hierarchy principles ( Sulu calles "tinny"), the Vulcan philosophy and the Enterprise herself. She was just refited and Starfleet commander says "her days are over" ? Come on !!
