Due to a temporal anomaly, Admiral Kirk and Mr. Scott turn around the USS Enterprise 37 times. From Star :Trek The Motion Picture (1979) This video is not monetized (by me). I do not own Star Trek.

this video is just a silly homage to Star Trek TMP I did one week-end. It is NOT the full film, it NEVER was, it NEVER will be. There is no link to the full film (except maybe the one from your KZbin suggestion). There is not a trap for a malicious website. Just relax and enjoy the video :) And thank for all the thumbs-up !

I really enjoyed this when it came out. First thing I ever bought on VHS tape. We devoured all the magazines and paperbacks and the show was in reruns every Saturday and Sunday. Critics can pick apart the effects and whatever they want but this had the real spirit of going baldly where no one had ever gone before. 😁

I find it funny that many truly do not understand (or perhaps appreciate) this piece of the movie. Gene Roddenberry gave this to the fans as a gift. The Enterprise was always a main character. The name of this music track is The Enterprise. Kirk returned to HIS ship and she to him.
@Atxurra3 жыл бұрын
Also it serves as a contrast between the enterprise and V'Ger. The enterprise is monumental when compared to 2 human beings and a shuttlecraft.... then V'Ger is monumental in comparison to the enterprise.

This first installment of the Star Trek movies was actually my favorite...I've had arguments with friends, because they couldn't understand the plot, and found the movie boring. The reason? Because this movie doesn't have constant fighting and killing scenes in it....I thought the plot was ingenious! ...For those that don't understand the plot...VGER is the Voyager Satellite that we sent into outer space. VGER entered a planetary system that was of machine/computer intelligence. VGER learned and became more sophisticated etc...Eventually, VGER set out to find its creator...Which of course, happened to be human, a carbon life form....It amazes me how many adults I've met, that do not understand the plot of this movie lol Again, I thought the plot was, as Mr. Spock would say....FASCINATING

I agree with you. I think the movie captured the spirit of Star Trek in the way that it presented a mysterious threat and the Enterprise crew had to figure it out. But I personally wish they kept Star Trek as a TV series. When Star Wars came out, Paramount wanted their own cash cow so they abandoned Star Trek: Phase II. I'd rather have the TV series.

Voyage wasn't really a satellite, but it was considered a deep space probe to explore our solar system and it keep going to interstellar space. I was in my early 30's when it was launched in 1977. Just for information : Voyager 1. NASA's Voyager 1 was launched after Voyager 2, but because of a faster route, it exited the asteroid belt earlier than its twin, having overtaken Voyager 2 on Dec. 15, 1977. It began its Jovian imaging mission in April 1978 when it was about 165 million miles (265 million kilometers) from the planet.

I'll say the same thing as I always do. This movie is the best of the movies. It captures the essence of what the series did. A beautiful ship, great crew, awesome story, spectacular music, and a bit of humor. I watch it at least once a month. It's never boring. Always get a feeling of awe when we finally see the Enterprise headon in all her glory. The Enterprise is an important and necessary character, with any other ship it wouldn't be Star Trek. The Refit Enterprise is the best of all the ships called Enterprise. Others maybe larger and more powerful but this ship always moves me to my soul. I wonder what the ships will look like when humans reach the time when this takes place. I hope the ships then would be like they are in Star Trek. But when the time comes, maybe the builders would look up the blue prints that have been written now. Maybe it's wishful thinking. Hopefully our great, great, of great, or more greats, grandchildren will build ships similar the this ship. Live Long And Prosper. And Peace and Long Life. Always remember the name ENTERPRISE.

So, I grew up on Star Trek, quite literally. I’m a really young member of the fandom, Enterprise was coming out when I was born, so the first Star Trek I ever saw come out that I could remember was 2009, and I… was a dumb kid who thought it was flashy and cool. But even then, I only wanted to go see it because my dad had let me watch reruns with him. I knew about Picard, Data, Spock, and Geordi before I knew about Clifford. My dad finally got the collectors’ editions of the movies, got me through most of TNG, and we honestly just skipped this movie and TOS. So you can guess that for a kid who loves nothing more than to build models, which ships more often than any other decorated my floor and my dresser. So going back to the beginning and rewatching from ground up and truly getting to experience all of Trek? It’s a special thing, and I can finally, truly appreciate this welcome back to the ship of Dreams.

There were a few changes I liked about the Directors cut of Star Trek the Motion Picture like the shuttle pod's approach to the Enterprise from the front and you can see the Enterprise' reflection in the window as Kirk is looking at the ship smiling the next one is when the Enterprise is moving away from Earth and the picture of Earth on the viewscreen is better than it was in the original version and another scene was after Spock came on board and helped fix the problems they had with the warp engines as Kirk and McCoy are waiting for him in the officers lounge and you can see the warp engines outside the window which is a lot better then in the original as there was nothing outside but the one thing I wish they could've fixed in the Director's cut was the arm thing attached to the starboard side of the secondary hull even though they blurred it out you can still see the damn thing just like in the original version of the film.
