ENJOY!
Featuring all the Original TOS Casts voices in a new story, never before presented in any episode live or animated. -
It was an awesome effort to pull this off, amounting to tens of thousands of edits.
I worked first to create a coherent 'teleplay' of a 'fully fleshed out episode' with the 'forgotten' Dialog I have the only ('Clean') copies of (10,000+ sentences of new professionally recorded dialog! (that's a lot of METADATA!). I created an actual Paper Teleplay to work from and re-order until I was happy with all the Dialog for the entire 45-min run-time.
After editing and with all the dialog in place, I then scored the episode with the (NEW!) Royal Philharmonic Stereo Trek Music and did the sound F/X. Next I Created the Characters, the Sets, Textures and Lighting, The Exterior Ship Scenes and Away mission inter-dimensional environments (You'll see!). After that I animated the Lip sync for the Entire Episode (for every character) to get it out of the way, along with the accompanying facial expressions. (that too is all done, for the entire episode).
Now I am only left with setting up the camera and animating the heads/bodies, (and Visual FX as I go along). So it's moving right along now!
This Episode really is basically 'new' in a very real sense, I wanted to make something, 'Linear' and professional feeling, from mere dialog. For instance, When, in the Credit Sequence, I have Spock Correct Kirk about his "Split Infinitive" "To Boldly Go" Kirk then turns to the mic and says (in multiple inflections), "To go Boldly., To Go BOLdly", -NONE of this situation ever existed, Kirk never said those lines, I 'Carved' them out of the 'Aural Medium' with extensive Editing... Spock never 'interrupted' Kirk when he was speaking, I made this entire situation (indeed the entire episode) out of all different sources and pieces of dialog and edited it to sound like it was always 'as one'.
In my source material McCoy was never On the Bridge arguing with Spock, etc. This was Pretty much All separate lines of dialog to start with, that I turned into a linear 'Metadata Teleplay' ;~)
Another (small but relevant) example, I have the Doctor say:
"Dammit Jim I'm a Doctor not a '----' " (you'll see!) But it isn't one ever heard before!!!, because I Made a 'New One' with Editing! This whole entire Project is like that, Surprises and New things never heard before in multiple ways! I tried to make what I myself always wanted to see, Another Episode! I have the Dialog and Stories for 18 More Full Lengths Episodes and Several Shorts!
I call this project "STAR TREK TOS: YEAR FIVE" (out of respect for the Star Trek PHASE II Fan Series which is filling Year Four with Star Trek goodness, and illustrated series called Star Trek: Season Four). Created entirely by myself as an Animated Sample-Reel to represent my Skills and talent in Multi-Media Production. My only limiting factor is Hardware. Message me if you have extra computers laying around that could be Rendering!
I am a General Animator with 15+ years of professional experience in every facet of multimedia production including Scripting, Compositing/Editing, Visual FX and Sound Engineering.
I specialize in Character Animation having developed a powerful dynamic method of exerting real-time control over a digital performance that allows a time saving of up to 90%. I am available to work on challenging projects locally (Hollywood, Ca.) or Remotely.
If you've read this far: You may as well know a little more about me, I started and created the bulk of this project during a 3 year long battle with aggressive lymphatic cancer. I had two choices, give up, or Fight just as aggressively.
Keeping busy (Very Busy) was my way of fighting. I have now beat it (for the most part) and am Healthy and Cancer free (in recovery).
Almost literally, Star Trek Saved my Life.
The first 10 minutes of this project I have created as a True Stereoscopic SBS 3D HD clip With DOF and with slightly different camera angles this is my experimental exploration of the possibility of making my project 3D:
