That guy on the right might just be a Captain one day! Haha. Love Seth Macfarlane. Truly.

Director - How can we make Columbia's bridge visually different from Enterprise's? Set Designer - I don't know, throw some glowing tubes at the back? Director - That's genius!

Seth Mcfarlane is the ensign who argues with Tucker at the start 😅
Episodes like this really proves that Enterprise lives up to the TNG standard.

Those "upgrades" to the Columbia's bridge look like afterthoughts. "We have to install this new display." "Just attach it to some polls in the middle of the floor." 😆😆😆

not to mention the flashing pole-lights behind the captain, like what *possible* function could flashing pole-lights do for the ship, and wouldn't it be super distracting to have rhythmic flashing lights on the bridge?

After Enterprise I wish that they had done a series on Columbia, Captain Erica Hernandez was a great leader.

Personally, I’ve always sort of headcanoned that the tubes/lights on the Bridge were power regulators meant to shunt extra power to the Warp engines. Columbia’s first mission was a rescue operation to catch up with and assist Enterprise with repairs while their own Warp engine was building towards an overload that would go off if they decreased speed. Enterprise was already going close to Warp five when Columbia launched. They had to catch up to Enterprise somehow, and the only way to do that is to exceed the standard flight speeds for an NX Class (Warp 4.5) and then maintain that speed for quite a while. Plus, Columbia then had to maintain that speed while also maintaining the structural integrity of a Warp field that had to hold two ships while traveling at speeds exceeding Warp Five. Not an easy thing to do, especially for a ship that just left Spacedock. So, I think it makes sense that they would quickly add some additional power regulators that could help lend additional power to the Warp stabilization matrix. But, those are just my thoughts. What do you all think? One additional fact that I think lends my theory some credibility is the E2 (second Enterprise) that Archer’s Enterprise encountered in the Expanse (Lorian’s Enterprise, the one that got thrown back in time). It had the same kind of adjustments that were seen on Columbia later. Since the E2 Enterprise was an older ship, with a worn out injector assembly, it could no longer make Warp Five, so it would make sense if they used some kind of power regulation matrix to strengthen their Warp integrity fields. That way they could still maintain high Warp speeds for longer durations (an essential capability when hiding from the Xindi for years on end). Again, just my thoughts. But it makes sense, to me at least.

No, it was just someone's dumb idea to differentiate from the Enterprise.

Erika Hernandez commanded this ship and this ship in particular was half responsible for the creation of the Borg. If Paramount would’ve been smart to made a movie based off the Destiny series, disagree if you want, but I bet it would’ve been way better than Section 31 or Discovery!
