Good point, Robert Picardo's EMH was one of the best things about Voyager. He like Data brought many character moments and storylines based completely around his character. Not to mention DS9 is right up there with TOS and Next gen for rankings and in my opinion more DS9 characters could have been included Garak, Bashir, Martok, Ducat, Weyoun, Gowron (seriously he had important parts in next gen too) etc. . And for Enterprise they could have added Trip/ T'pol and replaced mayweather/malcom. They easily could have dropped alot of JJ, Clutzman, and lower dumps Trek for more real estate.

Agree with you entirely on Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. They did McCoy dirty. And the three of them really should have been together, preferably in the center of the poster. In terms of Lower decks, the actors pictured from Strange New Worlds are actually also the voice actors of the characters. So I'm good with their placement there. The behind the scenes crew have commented that they're lucky their cast looks so much like the cartoon characters that they can sub in on live shows. I actually think it would have been nice to see Number 1 with her real life husband, who is also a voice actor on LD. Mostly, though, I think they should have pictured all the main crewmembers at least once. I wonder if the shaft to Chekov was because Walter Koneig went on to more success in Babylon 5. And yes, I know people like Pike, but I agree he's taking up too much space. And his pose is in a really weird place. It's just weird in general to put him in a chair. Mabye it's them hiting at him being in a wheelchair in the future? Large Spock is equally weirdly placed. I love Nimoy. But it's just weird. Especially with the Vulcan sign, I would have put him in the back next to OG Kirk, rather than down front. But htat probably would have made it more obvious Bones was missing.out. Was surprised to see Khan because I wasn't expecting villains. But out of all villains, he deserves. I don't know why we don't see any cardassians from DS9. Garrek or Gul Dukat, either would have been good if we're including villains. I think this poster says that LD and SNW are doing alright and might get another season, since there have been questions about that. Also that they may be trying to reboot TOS again. I'm just basing that on real estate in this picture.

Almost criminal that Jeffrey Combs wasn't in it as one of his several roles, as Cmdr Shran by preference. Absence of either Chapel or Lwaxana is a huge fail. Also Dukat or Garak should have been there. Too many characters show up more than once rather than fit in more 'diversity' like Neelix, Dr Flox, T'Pol, Gowron/Martok and Kai Winn .

5:48 Those "jokers" are from Prodigy - a pseudo Voyager sequel aimed at kids/teens and series newbies. Definitely worth watching. It takes a couple episodes to get going since it starts on a mining planet that enslaves children, and a handful of the kids stumble upon a lost/crashed/abandoned Federation training ship. The resident trainer is a Janeway-based hologram and it starts teaching them about Federation ideals and, basically, about Star Trek. The kids then seek out the Federation for asylum and for a non-enslaved future.

I noticed that the largest rendering of Kirk was of him shouting "KHAAAAAANNNN!" The contortion of his face is VERY unflattering compared to the smaller, suave image of TOS Kirk somewhere in the Delta Quadrant of the poster. Kurtzman Trek is trying their level best to nudge aside the iconic characters in place of their lesser characters and clones. I give this composition a D-. Imagine Michelangelo's "The Last Judgement" located above the altar at the Sistine Chapel, where Jesus is consigned to the lower left quadrant of the composition and Judas is prominent just off center making a "Buddy Christ" wink and thumbs-up. Yep. This is what Doomcock calls cultural vandalism. I can't wait for the next Star Wars tableau where the Blessed Trinity of Rey, Ahsoka, and Admiral Holdo dominate the center while a midsized image of a green t*tty milk swigging Luke Skywalker is consigned to somewhere among the lower third of the composition next to Jar Jar Binks farting.

Having a bunch of the literal who characters from the modern Trek but barely anyone from DS9 is just the producers further trying to rile up the fans. And I'm not going to give them any more free ego boosts/marketing. If they were going to show off the animated characters from the shows no one watched, they might as well have had Martok, Grilka and Moogie. Or hell, just have the entire picture be full of Jeffery Combs characters.

given that there is a bunch of "not Trek" there, then there is a bunch of space that is wasted and could've been used for the Troi's, Q (or multiples), T'pol, Orion Slave girl had a bigger impact than the not Trek stuff

Those jokers are the crew from Star Trek: Prodigy, it's actually a fairly decent show but it was a show co-produced by Paramount and Nickelodeon so it was aimed at a younger audience, so Star Trek for a more kiddie audience. So you have to look at it through that lens if you do get to see it. But given the nature of that show, they still put in a bunch of references to old-school Trek, and it was a pleasant watch considering I wasn't the target audience.

Those guys in the lower right are Star Trek Prodigy. A show mostly notable in that it feels more like Star Wars than Star Trek. When I try to watch it, I keep forgetting it's in the Federation, not some bad Star Wars Rebels spinoff.

Well there's your problem, it's mostly not in the Federation (in the first season at least). That's the reason the series works. The new Treks don't want to write Star Fleet officers acting professional and adult. Here, the crew is none of that to begin with. No dissonance.

@@vib80 Okay, yes, I agree that modern Trek is anti-Science-Fiction. The old trek was Space Opera with a serious SF bent, with people who understood science and fiction writing on its staff, while the modern trek is run and written by people who know nothing about science, nor fiction. But Prodigies is like a worst-case-scenario of that. But separately - and what I was talking about - it seems to consciously mimic the STYLE of the many Star Wars CGI shows...the sterilized "grittiness", the semi-random hodge podge of alien races and languages, the stream of consciousness delivery, oversimplified postmodernism, et cetera.

I'm actually very surprised that they had one prominent large face of William Shatner on the poster after how they've been shunning him lately. I definitely think that Janeway got screwed over, she should have had a prominent close up. Also, you are correct, Sisco deserved a more prominent close up. For balance, maybe Archer too, Scott Bakula did a great job playing him, although yes, the series had its struggles, mostly due to network interference steering it way from its original concepts that would have made it unique and interesting. Season 4 is some of the best Star Trek ever written however, if you ignore the first and last episodes of the season, especially TATV, I've only watched it once, and when I rewatch the series I pretend that the episode before it was the real finale of the show. Everything else you said about everyone else basically rings true with me.
