According to Deadline, Season 2 of Ahsoka is supposed to come out first before the movie that Filoni’s doing as S2 will focus on Ahsoka and Sabine stopping Abeloth (maybe) while the movie focuses on New Republic vs Imperial Remnants united under Thrawn, which Ahsoka and Sabine will have to return to so they can help them win.

It has a triple meaning: 1. Sabine sensed some of Anakin's presence in The Force; 2. Sabine may have sensed the existence of The Mother, Abeloth; 3. The Ahsoka Season Finale released on the same day as the first entry in Phase Three of The High Republic Multimedia Initiative, the comic series/novella, Shadows Of Starlight. I'm sure Dave Filoni knew full well what he was doing, with that last line.

I loved this episode so much! I felt like everything about it was incredible. Every scene and moment was just so amazing! I thought that the writing was fantastic, the acting was amazing, and the tone was perfect. All throughout this episode I was curious about what was going to happen next and it just had me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire episode. And I feel like I can’t say enough just how incredible the music for this entire show l was, I’m so glad that they brought Kevin Kiner back to do this shows score. And I feel like all the performances in this series were amazing. Each actor was giving a fantastic performance and I felt like they were all doing an amazing job for these characters. And have completely sold me on their performances for these characters. They all felt like they were fully dedicate and invested to their character and their role. I’m so happy to have gotten to watch this show, it delivered on so many aspects for me. This entire series felt so consistent and concise with its storytelling, world building, characters and writing to me. And I’m just beyond grateful that Dave Filoni and all the other writers, directors and producers involved were able to deliver on this series. Right at the start we see Ezra making a new lightsaber which I thought was really cool, especially since he based it off of Kanan’s. Speaking of Kanan, I loved getting to hear Huyang talk about young Kanan and Ezra talking about having him as his master, it was just great to get to hear how much of an impact and impression he still has on them and this story. I also really liked the scene where Ahsoka talks to Sabine about Anakin as her master and how he always stood by her, I just really liked getting to hear her talk about him more. I also really liked her saying to Sabine that she wants to be the same for her, I feel like it really shows how Ahsoka has truly opened up to training Sabine as her apprentice. And again every one of Thrawn’s scenes in this episode, and series as a whole, were perfect. Every word out of his mouth feels perfect. I think Lars Mikkelsen did an excellent job at reprising this character, with every scene he just brought this amazing presence with him. Whether it be through his dialogue or how calm and collected he always comes off as, I think they did an amazing job at portraying him. Also this is kind of a minor thing but it was super cool how Sabine used the wings of the T-6 to take down the two Tie Fighters. I loved getting to see Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra working together to fight the Stormtroopers. I just thought that it was all around amazing action and getting to see Ahsoka the White and Ezra with his new lightsaber fighting them was so awesome. Then we get to see the Great Mothers raise the Stormtrooper from the dead and turn them into zombies. This was such a great moment, I think that these troopers already had such an undead kind of feel and look to them, but seeing them actually come back from death made it feel even more so. I loved how unbeatable they became, it really seemed like no matter what they tried there was no way to truly defeat them. Then we get the rematch between Ahsoka and Morgan Elsbeth. I loved this fight, it was really awesome and I’m so glad that they gave Diana Lee Inosanto one more fight scene with this character. I think this fight had some amazing choreography, each hit and slash felt so fluid yet powerful and I really liked getting to see both of them using their agility throughout the fight. Not to mention how tense it was at times, especially when the Stormtrooper zombies got involved and Ahsoka had to fight both of them at once. And the scene where Ezra and Sabine fight the zombie Death Troopers was really cool, Death Troopers are already such a menacing force but to make them unstoppable/unkillable made them even more menacing. I especially like how after Sabine shot off part of the ones helmet, you could see parts of it rotting, zombie jaw trying to bite at her. Then we finally see Sabine use the force to grab the lightsaber and actually kill the zombie Death Trooper. I think they introduced her force abilities in an amazing way, by only having her use them here and to help Ezra into the Star Destroyer, it makes it so her connection to the force is at its strongest when she and those closest to her are truly in need of that power to help. And it makes it so she as a character isn’t so dependent on using the force. Then we get to see the amazing fight between Ahsoka and Morgan continue, I loved how the longer it went on the more close in combat their fighting became. But then we see Ahsoka use this awesome move to disarm and kill Morgan using both her lightsaber and Morgan’s sword. Another minor thing, but I just really liked the way the slash from Morgan’s Nightsister sword left a green burn mark. And it was really cool to see Sabine fighting the Stormtroopers while flawlessly alternating between her blaster and lightsaber. And seeing Thrawn destroy the Nightsister temple was really cool and satisfying looking, especially with getting to see all the zombie Stormtroopers being destroyed in the process. And I absolutely loved Thrawn’s chilling final words to Ahsoka. Hearing him say those things about how similar she and Anakin were and how that may not lead to the best outcome was amazing. I really hope to see Ahsoka and Thrawn interact again in the future, hopefully face to face next time. It was cool to get to see the planet Dathomir in live action for those brief couple of seconds. I am curious to find out what is in those crates, they were such an important part of the last couple of episodes so I find it kind of weird that we never learned what was actually in them, and I’m wondering if it will be revealed in the Dave Filoni movie. And I loved how Ezra returns to the New Republic fleet on Baylan’s ship, having it be framed and set up in the same way as Baylan and Shin’s arrival on that ship from the first episode really made this whole series feel like it came full circle. “it’s like poetry it rhymes” I also loved getting to see Hera and Chopper’s reactions to finally seeing Ezra again after all these years. It was so heartwarming and sweet, and it really did feel like they were seeing a long lost family member. Again, I do wish that Zeb (especially) and Old Man Rex were a part of or at least present during this scene. Then we see what looks like Shin summoning the Raiders, I guess she will take them to try and fight Ahsoka, Sabine and the hermit crab creatures in whenever we see all of them next. But that shot of her riding up on the Howler then holding her lightsaber up in the air was pretty cool. But then in a moment that was surprise to be sure, but a welcome one, we got to see another brief look at live action Morai. And I loved the way we see her appear almost as a messenger to Ahsoka and then when she flies away it transitions into the next scene that relates to her in a way. Then we get to see Ray Stevenson’s final performance through Baylan’s final scene for this series. We see Baylan looking off to the distance to some sort of temple, but then it’s revealed that he is standing on top of a enormous statue of the Father of Mortis, which is located right next to two other enormous statues of the Son and the Daughter. First of all this was a crazy moment, not only that they were the presence that was calling out to Baylan but that they were even brought into live action in the first place. I never truly expected them to actually bring these characters into live action in any way. Second of all the stance of the Father’s statue reminded me a lot of the giant statues In Fellowship of the Ring from Lord of the Rings which was another really cool reference that I’m sure Dave threw in there. Speaking of Lord of the Rings, the shot of Baylan looking at the temple in the distance looked like Frodo and Sam looking at Mount Doom. I’m also curious as to why the statue of the Daughter is broken, and does it have anything to do with here still being alive in the form of Morai. It really is a shame that Ray Stevenson is gone and isn’t here to hear the people’s love of his incredible performance for this character. And then we see Ahsoka, Sabine and Huyang trapped on Peridea having to live among the hermit crabs creatures. And I find it so beautiful yet ironic how Ahsoka, Sabine, Huyang, Baylan, Shin and Morgan essentially swapped places with Thrawn and Ezra. All the people that went there to save them left the main galaxy and were, one way or another, the ones that got left on that planet. And all the people that were stranded there were the ones that got to leave and return to the main galaxy. “it’s like poetry it rhymes” And then, in the final shot of the episode and series as a whole, we get to see Force Ghost Anakin. I loved that we got to see what may possibly be our last look at (for a while at least) Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker in his final form of his force ghost. And I loved how it looked like he was watching over Ahsoka almost the same way he was with Luke at the end of Return of the Jedi.I can’t believe this fantastic series is already over. I loved everything about it and I’m still so happy that I got to experience it. I can’t wait to see where these remaining storylines will lead into the next installment and maybe even in the upcoming Dave Filoni movie. And how it will impact the future of upcoming Star Wars projects and their continuing interconnected story. I’ve loved getting to watch all of your reactions and listen to all of your reviews and thoughts on this show throughout its runtime. Rest in Peace Ray Stevenson

Also, Ross, if I may, I’m certain the appearance of the Mortis Gods in statue form imply that it is indeed Abeloth who’s callin’ out to Baylan Skoll. I really hope we get a second and final season of Ahsoka on Disney+ in 2026 before Dave Filoni’s Star Wars movie arrives in theaters in 2027 for the 50th Anniversary of Star Wars, but it will be bittersweet and sad knowing Ray Stevenson’s not gonna be there to continue on as Baylan Skoll. I like and appreciate every Star Wars TV show we've gotten so far. Book of Boba was probably my least favorite, but even that series had many good moments. Ahsoka, though, has been consistently entertaining. And I say that as someone who was kinda apathetic about the prequel trilogy, disappointed with the sequel trilogy, and who didn't see all of Clone Wars. I don't ask for much: just a clear vision behind the story direction, characters who interact and grow from each other, and something to keep upping the stakes. We've had tension, light saber battles, touching on lore and expanding into new territory. The finale was mesmerizing. Very well paced.

I absolutely loved this show. I give it a 9/10. It is genuinely one of my favorite pieces of Star Wars media. While the finale is wasn’t “epic” like the Mando season 2 finale, I still enjoyed it. It had its fair share of dull of moments here and there but episodes 3-7 are peak Star Wars in my opinion. Baylon Skoll was definitely my favorite character (besides Huyang because I have bias towards any character that’s a droid). I’m very sad that we will never get to see him portrayed by Ray Stevenson ever again because he was made for that role. Hopefully we get to see the end of his story, perhaps some animated tales of the Jedi style shorts where we get to see his journey come to an end and give his character closure, but also learn about his past.

I'd agree to disagree over Anakin at the end confirming the WBW version was real. Imho the earlier stuff was all in Ahsoka's head and it got her to where she needed to be and then, much like Qui-Gon with Obi-Wan, Anakin then appeared. & I'm totally ok with either outcome but i still cant square why FG Anakin would KEEP appearing as Vader to Ahsoka. a trauma lesson? like a cut-in-half Qui-Gon appearing to Kenobi? also, Palpatine only found the WBW using Sith magick and he couldnt even get into it when he did find it, why do we think Anakin is stronger? great series, I'm also kinda eh re Sabine being Force sensitive but i trust Dave in the long run AND, given there's clearly more to come, ima wait til ive seen his whole story play out before judging. come back soon Ross!! p.s a TOTJ (or any other animated telling of the rest of his story - just don't port it over to Shin, let her own story play out) with Baylan HAS to come, pretty please 😂
