Kylo Ren is more intimidating with his mask, because initially we didn’t know who was underneath it, what they looked like, or if he was even a human. Kylo Ren became essentially an angsty, emo teen as soon as he removed his mask. He basically became the Sasuke Uchiha of Star Wars

Honestly, the way Kylo breaks Del Meeko's memories is heavily reminiscent of how Valkorion (From the Old Republic games) peers into other people's heads (At mission 2 of the KotET, and the last mission of the KotFE campaign) , which honestly makes Kylo, in my opinion, an even cooler character than he ever was in the movies.

Ben Solo was tormented when he was a kid, he killed Thrawn that he tried to kill his family responsable to destroy the empire in the Mandalorian. Now he tried to learn that Leida and his mother Leia steals the plans of death Star when he tried to speak with Del Meeko about his grandfather. Poor Ben, he was a cute kid in the Mandalorian but he didn't knowed that his grandfather was fallen in the dark side of the force. Why he didn't tell at Rey that he killed Thrawn When he was a kid during the 50th birthday of his grandfather?
