dooku has to be one of my favorite sith of all time. he's so calm so as to mask the amount of power he has. with vader, maul, and sidious, they get angry and have a air of menace about them. Dooku however, he has an entirely different presence. his aristocratic nature reflected in his clothes, his manner of speech, and even his lightsaber made to resemble a dueling sword. sidous brings power, vader brings intimidation, maul brings persistence, dooku brings class.

If Dooku would've lived through the Clone Wars until the Civil War, (which at his age is very unlikely anyway, especially when you consider that the actor who played him only lived ten years after Revenge of the Sith); Dooku for one, would've been a part of the Empire. Because that's the kind of government he actually wanted. And if not, he'd be living in exile, always looking over his shoulder, like Obi Wan and Yoda. And because he was such a famous figure, I doubt he would've lasted very long keeping a low profile. He wouldn't be able to keep his title, or stay on his planet, or keep his fortune. Because the Republic/Empire would be hounding him down. And because he was also very privy to Palpatine's schemes, Palpatine would've made his death far more important than any Jedi.

@@mitchellhayward6492 ehhh... "The Empire" Palpatine told Dooku about was the not the Empire he actually planned on building. Dooku's vision of the Empire looked more like the CIS than anything else, only on a galactic scale and formed out of a merger with the Republic after blaming the Jedi and corrupt politicians for everything. Palpatine badly misled Dooku as to what the real plan was, and Dooku essentially thought by backing the Imperial project he was simply backing a faster and more bloodless path to power for his ideologies than outright winning the clone wars would require. That said though he was somewhat paranoid that Sideous might backstab him on this and did try to train apprentices in case he needed to ditch Sideous, namely Ventress, but of course Palpatine kept seeing that coming before he was ready. Dooku very legitimately held the beliefs of the Confederacy, and formed it around them as such. If Dooku survived up to the Civil War era I'll assume he discovered Palpatine's lies and just went for the win on his own, at which point his still being alive would either mean a.) The Clone Wars never ended and the rebellion would basically just join the CIS when it rose against Palpatine or b.) The Clone Wars ended with a CIS victory and Dooku established a galactic Confederacy, running the galaxy as head of state (at which point the rebel leaders would probably be rebelling against him trying to restore the Republic, though I don't think they would succeed as the CIS would be much less oppressive, much more democratic, and have far more popular support than the Imperials). There is also an off chance of c.) The CIS lost after an extended clone wars and Dooku was forced underground and into hiding from the Empire, at which point he would definitely be looking over his shoulder as you said, and basically be the most wanted man in the galaxy. He would surely support the rebels in that case though.
