being able to fly from surface to orbit and back seems like a logical next step for developing and expanding on the concept of space battles. it already blew my mind being able to fly from one capital ship to another in space, but this is so much more. then, for BF4, they should've made galactic travel possible!

Lets hope Dice sees the work Free Radical did. Cause in my opinion their were some good ideas that Free Radical had: like Space to Ground Battles , Third Person, A weapon that can deflect light sabers that gives you a fighting chance against a Jedi or Sith. also maybe being able to fly the republic cruisers , Imperial Star Destroyers with a crew. Id just hate to see all the work free Radical did go to waste. They had cool ideas. I have a New hope that Dice will do a great job.

This is going to be sick! I expect that it will release around the same time as Episode 7 hits theaters. I hope they bring back settings including the classic trilogy(Rebels vs Empire), the prequel trilogy(Republic vs CIS) and the new trilogy that will start with episode 7. The idea of this game finally comming out and being developed on the frostbite 3 engine is amazing, SW:BF2 was my favorite game ever so I am so excited for this!

They have. Turns out that EA has taken it upon themselves to make the game. Using DICE, Visceral, and Bioware, they are developing Battlefront 3 on the Frostbite 3 engine. Unfortunately, this won't be coming out for another year.

Well considering EA has already been liscensed to create more star wars games and have DICE and Visceral ready to work on them I think Battlefront 3 has a chance at getting off the ground. Think of it, one company specializes in large scale vehicle-based combat where 2 sides fight over control points and the other company specializes in third person shooters.

Disney had nothing to do with Free Radical's fate; Free Radical released "Haze" which was heavily condemned by critics and gamers alike, and that game single-handily ruined Free Radical's reputation. Free Radical's reputation was tarnished so badly that no publishers wanted to work alongside them. Hence, the cancellation of SW: BF3. And this happened 5 years ago...

Actually yes and no. Elite squadron is what was left of battlefront 3 that Free Radical made. Rebellion took it and made it for the PSP but cut a a lot of it out so it could fit on the psp. The transition from space to ground their is a cut scene. as you can see in this version their is not. And plus look at the graphics theirs a big difference.
