It's time to add another piece to my collection of full-size Star Wars helmets. This time we're taking a look at the Hasbro Black Series Re-Armored Boba Fett helmet. We first got to see this refreshed and re-painted helmet during the second season of the Mandalorian series and it will be featured heavily during the upcoming Disney+ streaming series, The Book of Boba Fett. I noticed the pad color difference on the inside. Even though the re-armored one looks newer, it's actually the "older" of the helmets in terms of how long he's had it. So I took the coloration of the pads on the inside as you said, more worn in as the helmet is farther along in it's life at that point. Honestly one of the coolest little details.

I agree, Kyle! That was a pretty cool detail to put in there to show the wear and the usage on the helmet. Hilariously, though, they paid NO attention to making sure the exterior colors of the helmet were anywhere close to what we see on screen, though! Don't get me wrong, I still love the helmet as it's a beauty, but that upset a lot of people who were looking for a screen-accurate prop. Anyway, it looks great on my "Mando Shelf!" The first episode of Book of Boba Fett was a little disappointing, but overall I love that they've showing we we were right. Boba Fett is a bad-ass! Honestly I love the helmet and can’t decide between the old or new one, the only thing putting me off is the brown rust stuff because beskar doesn’t rust 😂 I’ll probably still buy though, thank you for the review 👍

I'd take the older one if I were you it looks more authentic to the movie than the newer one does to the series. It also looks more menacing, and realistic, less "toy" ish (even if, it still is one)

Man this looks legendary - my gripe though is that the visors or eye holes for these helmets are always slightly too large and it looks funky to me. Whenever I see a Mandalorian helmet I always picture a Clint Eastwood squint, so it’s a little bothersome. But, the quality for the Boba Black Series are always so wonderful looking that I’m still tempted to get this.

That's an excellent point, Kaboom! And I had noticed that before, but I like the analogy you used with the Clint Eastwood squint. Yeah. They really do make tgem a little too wide. And as you say, still good helmets for the price, but I wish they were a little bit more screen accurate. Maybe they're making the visor wider so people can see through better and they avoid injury liability accident lawsuits! 🤣😆 Regardless, I do appreciate you stopping by and checking out the video and making some really great points!

Man that’s awesome. My son is 8 and star wars is life. He wanted one of these helmets for Christmas but I had a kidney transplant and money was tight to say the least. I tried my best to make one out of a box, milk jug and a lot of duct tape. Needless to say he doesn’t wear it and I can’t blame him. Lol. I’ll get him one eventually. Thanks for sharing.

Keep an eye on the toy retailers online, as these will typically go on sale for about $79 often. Especially if they don't run out of stock like it appears they are not going to with this one. Great review of the helmet, I pre ordered a while back ( I'm in the uk so it hasnt released yet ) and i love the repainted boba look. I'm just not the biggest fan of the brown rusty stuff all over I was hoping it would be cleaner but I still think it looks good. But i have 1 question and that is about the brown stuff , is it too overpowering or is it subtle. Can you really notice it or just barely?. Anyway it was a really great video Thanks paul

And yeah, the helmet that we got is not what we saw at the end of the Mandalorian season and it's pretty disappointing. I still like the helmet, but it's not what I was expecting. And unfortunately, the brown rust-dirt weathering is very prevalent and kind of obvious. In the bright lights of my review booth it gets washed out a little bit, but as soon as I pulled the helmet out I was shocked at how they had put that brown all over it. Hopefully you aren't disappointed when you get yours. Thanks for checking out the video!

Well, you're not wrong. Brandon. The green is lighter than what we saw Boba Fett wearing in The Mandalorian. That's the main thing that sticks out. Also, it's got a TON of rust/dirt weathering that just seems out of place. I like the helmet, don't get me wrong, but I was hoping to get the EXACT helmet Fett was wearing at the end of The Mandalorian Season 2: fresh, deep green and clean. Oh well.... Elliot, you and I have the same problem. A lot of my helmets will not fit over my huge melon either. I have a hat size that is almost 8! Yeah, Farfrom. In and of itself, it's not a bad helmet, but we do slready have a lot of Boba Fett variations. But as far as being screen accurate for what we saw in the last few episodes of the Mandalorian, I was a little disappointed. My main complaint was all the rust and dirt weathering they added to it. I don't think that was necessary. I'll be interested to see if som of the other companies pick this one up and do a more accurate, vibrant job. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!

But oddly, brushed metal paper towel holders are what I am using as well. I have two kinds displayed. One kind comes from Costco and is hit or miss if they have them in stock, the ones with the flatter bases are simply some cheap ones I order from Amazon. Not sure what the difference may be, but now at least you can conduct a "compare and contrast" experiment. Hope you find some that appeal to you soon. That's a good point, RR1138! I didn't think about it that way. You could literally drive over and pick it up from their warehouse in few hours, but it takes a week to ship. Weird. And yeah! I think they are both the same size outside and inside, Pigeon, since this is basically a repaint of the older one. So, theoretically, the comfort should be the same on them both. Hahaha amazing. I am sure the different colour is due to the Colorgrading in the 80ies. Return of the Jedi really has a bluish color grading. But in the end no one knows.

That's a good question, Zass, and I think you accurately described it. Wearing the helmet and looking through the lens is like looking through lightly tinted sunglasses. Because of the "T" shape, it also narrows your field of view, so you have to keep your head on a swivel if you want to walk around with it on. Thanks for stopping by and checking this video out!

David, every one of these Black Series helmets that has this type of headstrap, I've just been able to pop it right out. When you get it out, you will see that it's just a pressure plastic system. There's no glue or anchoring at all. Just be gentle and pull slowly and you should be good! Also, thanks for stopping by and checking out the video!

To my knowledge, Lieutenant, this is a simple repaint of the original Boba Fett helmet. And in addition to all other Black Series helmets, they only come in a "one size fits all" configuration with a helmet band inside that you can adjust. Ugh... Sorry to hear that. If you're in the US, Big Bad Toy Store and Entertainment Earth have them up for pre-order still, and it shows delivery times in March... if that helps. But yeah, definitely don't pay the scalper prices on eBay or Amazon. These are still too prevalent for that. You should be able to find it somewhere soon first-hand. Ultimately, only YOU can decide if the helmet is "worth it." There are too many variables to factor in for me to give you an answer, and even then, it would simply be based upon my opinion. You saw the details of the helmet in my video, and apparently n other videos as well. Did YOU like it? Just because someone else says something else is "bad" or "good" doesn't necessarily make it so. Unless the helmet is faulty in some fashion. This one simply doesn't match what we see on screen. Are you cool with that? What direction are you taking your helmet collection? Are you buying more than one eventually? If not, would you rather have a different character as your 'only' helmet? Are you going to use this to join a very strict costuming club like the 501st? Do you want it just to wear for Halloween? Is it just for display? See? This is why you have to decide based upon all the reviews you have seen whether or not YOU like it. That's the best advice I can give you. My videos are only meant to inform and show. I leave the opinion-forming and decision-making up to the viewer.

So, there is obviously a number of ways to approach that question, Brit, depending on which character is your favorite, which one you need to round a collection or costume and so forth. I will approach the answer from a sheer "screen accuracy" and "quality" point of view. Hands down the winner is the Mandalorian helmet. No contest. It is so incredibly well done, looks almost identical to what we see on screen, and they did an amazing job of making plastic look and feel like metal. The Boba Fett helmet here is not even close to screen accurate and looks more like a toy. So, if you can only buy one, and all other things are equal, I'd go with the Mandalorian helmet.

Ive watched a few reviews, yours is defo the best looking. Feels like Boba would have had that bump in the helmet fixed. Wouldnt it impact the structural integrity of the helmet, and if not what kind of force could have caused such damage on Beskar steel? :)

Yes, Fredrik! All of THOSE words! I totally agree with you. Apparently Beskar has some magical structural properties that prevent it from being a liability, I suppose! haha! And we're not sure how it was caused, but there is a deleted scene from one of the animated shows where Cad Bane shoots Boba in the head causing the dent, but it was never finished and released. No problem at all. I am flattered and eager to help whenever I can! The cases I am using, and frankly a TON of other collectors use, are called the Detolf. They are available at IKEA. They are pretty good looking, reasonably priced, easy to put together and pretty sturdy for being just a bunch of glass stacked together. There have been times when they are hard find to due to IKEA supply issues, so you just have to keep a look out. I'm sorry, James, this is the first I have ever heard of this problem and have never experienced it myself. Consequently, I'm not sure what may fix that for sure. However, if you jump on one of the Star Wars helmet collecting forums on Facebook and provide a photo and a description of the problem, I guarantee someone will have a quick fix for you for sure!
