Hey Robo, you're correct. That is a Temura Morrison head. I've seen a lot people heat up the heads and remove the helmets to fix the warping issue. Like half of these new stormtroopers have their left sides squished in. I think it's because of the head in there.

Yeah, it's a cool little thing where they can maximize movement without cutting into the look. Which, now that I type that out makes the reason for it pretty clear. It's not to get out of the way of the butterflies and abs, it's to cover them. But yeah, love it.

I remember walking into the sculpting department at Hasbro in late 2013 when they were testing Vader's articulation, the sculpt blew my mind. Crazy to think how improved this version is

The Client's stormtroopers did, but these are the Remnant stormtroopers, who only used the E-11. It will more than likely get another release as that first version, simple as adding sand/dirt to the current version.

The Client hired his stormtrooper bodyguards from mercenaries who still used their old armor, thus being dirty and worn. They also used whatever weapons they could afford or had available, seeing as some used pistols while others used heavy blaster rifles. Gideon's own Stormtroopers were the official remnants, being they never stopped serving the Empire and thus are cleaner than the former type. They were standard issue and were highly organized, using only the weapons they had authorization to use, mainly being the E-11. Why are you even arguing with me? Nothing I've said has been wrong, you're just misinterpreting and looking even more wrong.

I never thought that I would like the new arms and legs design but there I am, it really does looks cleaner, I have a problems with Vader's helmet it doesn't look quite right to me (doesn't look like the one from ESB) but the new Stromtrooper sculpt is amazing! Great Review as always.

Teebo's head dress was not glued on mine, it did need a little pinch or squeeze to flex over the ears but it comes right off. The head pops off pretty easy too. great video Robo and Crew, waiting for Dorkside to send my case out.

IMO The new stormtrooper blows all the others out of the water, even the ANH Figuarts one. Only trouble is if helmet is glued on the head wrong it warps the helmet that then requires a battle to remove and glue back on the correct way. When the helmet is right though i'd say its my figure of the year hands down.

Not sure if you noticed or mentioned this but if you push the rubber strap up the bicep to touch that piece of armor it moves it off the elbow runner enough to not be ripped or torn. I own 6 and don't have a single one broke by doing this

The peg on the lightsaber blade is moulded to fit the angle of the top of the hilt so you have to make sure you put it the right way

But the accessories and articulation on the imports make them worth it, to me. Plus, if I'm gonna only have one Vader, I'm gonna make it the best one I can get, and that's definitely the Figuarts right now. And I even noticed the Figuarts is ever so slightly taller than the BS which is funny because I've heard lots of people say the Figuarts are too small for 1:12 scale, and clearly that's not the case!

The Stormtrooper actually represents how they appeared in Episode 6, Return of the Jedi and The Mandolorian, not an update of the original Episode 4 and 5 variant. Looks amazing, these figures are going for $45 AU retail price though

I got all of them except Teebo and Ackbar and I'm omw to get those two. I make a TON of custom clone Troopers. I'm wondering if we can cut those knee pads and attach them to the boot. I think that may look a little better. Now the reason the helmet looks so different Robo is because it's an amalgamation of the animated & "real world" helmets.

I think the line needed new packaging anyway. With the improvements being made the last few years those early figures in that packaging which already looked dated came off as especially low quality. I think with the new technology they are putting into these figures this new packaging conveys the right idea that this is meant to be a collectible toy line and not something I keep finding at 5 below.

I was excited about the new Clone mould but I'm not digging that helmet AT ALL; The design looks so weird, especially how the T-Visor doesn't connect with the nose piece. It just has that weird gap between them. 11:13 That's an even bigger bummer though yikes.

Oh man, didn't notice the T gap! What make the helmet so off is the black line is missing that starts right above the visor. If you watch the comparison the old Clone has the line I'm talking about. They are missing on the new one because the Clone Wars show never had it on the clone helmets. Perhaps it's just kamino clones that will do this or all of them... black paint can fix that if it's a huge bother

They did the helmets in an animated style (no black line above the visor and an ever-so-slightly different visor shape) and I really do not like that move. I love TCW and the way clones look in it, but Black Series has always been realistic interpretations of animated characters so it makes no sense to randomly make this an animated version. It just makes the line inconsistent. What's worse is that the picture on the package is the realistic look! I have a feeling they had someone sculpt it who didn't know the difference and they just went off the only source material for the Kamino clone instead of sculpting a live-action clone and then painting it to match the Kamino armor, which is what should've been done. I am really hoping they change it for future releases because there are a lot of problems with this clone mold. Not too optimistic though because they're reusing it for the 332nd clone.

@@thetexanboy80 Not sure what people are smoking but its NOT supposed to be animated. If you wanted animated figures go check ebay for the old 3.75" figures. This figures is meant to be realistic so Hasbro clearly butchered the sculpt. People keep giving it a pass because its from the animated show but never have we gotten a straight animated figure. hasbro needs to fix this, especially with the 332nd clone. If Hot Toys and Gentle Giant can make a realistic 332nd trooper then surely Black series can too

Both are good but I do get more use out of the ANH, especially since it's so much better than Hasbro's. Black Series has given us a couple of decent ROTJ Luke's, and I even replaced the SHF ROTJ Luke's head with a custom.

The Kamino clone looks different because it’s based on the Clone Wars model. That’s why the visor is thinner and the mouth is a different angle.

the kamino and 332nd trooper helmets suffers from using softer plastic, the helmet looks bloated and warp, while the eyes look likes it is squinting. Luckily the new elite trooper's helmet is improved on and is much better

Being a big Clone Trooper fanboy myself, I did manage to obtain this new "Kamino" version from this wave. And also the new Mandalorian as well, because I do enjoy that series as well. Love them both, but I too worry about the Clone's elbow pad straps - because the right-hand one IS already starting to split a little. Other than that, totally worth it in my book. :)

Coming back to this video and seeing the Darth Vader segment and I just have to compliment Hasbro on a job well done and makes me think the Bandai model kit, which is also based on ESB, needs a serious upgrade to compete. For years I've always thought it remained undefeated as the best ESB Darth Vader in that scale, despite all the other releases from Hasbro, other import companies and even Bandai themselves, but now I'm beginning to change my mind. The only thing that model now has going for it are the extra hands, the more solid hilts and the longer blade. That helmet sculpt on the Black Series is that good and even the soft goods seem improved over the original 2017 release. The only flaw here is the lenses should've been a dark amber to be completely screen accurate.

They did and it's extremely dumb because it makes it not match every other clone in the line. I think it was just a serious mistake (like I mentioned in another comment, my theory is whoever sculpted it didn't know the difference and just based it off the picture they found for "Kamino clone" from the show instead of sculpting a live-action helmet and painting it with Kamino markings) because the package art on the side even has the live-action helmet.

I think that the reason the head is big on the clone is it's supposed to be the style of the animated clone wars show.

Respect. Great review. Have the 2 (Luke and Stormtrooper) awaiting the rest (various preorders). Vader looks good. Mando looks great (3 ordered...This is the Way). And Akhbar is historic. I even look forward to that teddy bear Ewok (never a big fan of the critters). It appears the head gear does remove. And never enough Clone Troopers. All the best.
