I would suggest using the senator's and engineering heros not only do research go faster but ships and ground tech while a senator gives you huge pop cap bonus and act as stealth unit while also providing credit bonus

Octuparras have 800 heavy armor and you get 2 per unit a mtt has 1000 heavy armor and you get 1 per unit so they are incredible tanki

The BC-714 is basically two hardcells in one squadron (minus the Hvy Concussion MSLs). Also it gets speed boost and is harder to hit with Hvy LCs. The unit is great.
