I am so lost and stuck in an era I am blessed to have grown up in. This was a time when social media networking, fancy mobile phones and chav culture never existed but simplicity, decency and unity. In the UK we had 4 channels (although Sky TV was available), but the choices were phenomenal and memorable. In 2000s, you have a vast number of channels offering nothing but total rubbish let alone lengthy ads that seem to go on forever. Please, won't someone build a time machine so we can all go back to better times :(

He blinks in A New Hope, not like he does in the cartoon though. When they are aboard the sandcrawler he blinks as he says "R2? R2D2 it is you it is you" he basically turns his eyes off and on again real fast as if he is blinking. That's probably where they got the idea to make him blink. But when I was a kid it bothered me as I thought, hey he doesn't have eyelids lol

gary lyons Probably to make him more expressive. In a live action movie, it's fine to have a character, robot or not, not blink. But in a cartoon, it can be quite jarring. He has pupils so that we, the viewer, can tell where he's looking. It's more for our sake than anything.
