I don't think McCoy & Spock were looking for a short and amusing story ("anecdote") to cure the particular plague they were facing.
@fjccommish2 жыл бұрын
Antidote.
@trappedkitty53353 ай бұрын
Now they have an antidote anecdote. Honestly, the anecdotal evidence of the cure from before was the farthest I've seen Spock grasp for a straw, but what do I know about 23rd century medicine?

Antidote, not anecdote.

I think it's an antidote....not an anecdote. I actually thought, based on the thumbnail, that Spock was going to give the crew an anecdote about his childhood.
@jtkirkfan20028 жыл бұрын
Really CBS? No one there knows the difference between "anecdote" and "antidote"? Or do you just not know how to edit the description? This is embarrassing for a network's official channel.

@steelers6titles3 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelSHartman Actually, I stand corrected. The conjunctiva of the character's eyeballs matches the skin; it should be white, of course, for humanoids (including Spock). Maybe the cheap Filmation animation overlooked this. The money went for the scriptwriters, and original actors for the characters (except for Walter Koenig as Chekov; the budget couldn't afford him, although he did write, or co-write, an episode).

Spock feeds things into the computer by clicking pretty colored buttons. And why would they need McCoy when McCoy's 'doctoring' is 100% Spock looking things up then telling McCoy the answer....

I noticed something watching all of these clips - ONLY Kirk is allowed to do everything. Everyone else gets sidelined. I mean, this one was more blatant then most - he's feverish and dying, and he still solves MEDICAL things that confuse Spock and McKoy?

Why is the animated series still not regarded as canon?
@leovalverde15082 жыл бұрын
TAS is getting more and more respect. In fact a lot of it is getting made cannon by new Trek, especially Lower Decks.
@icollectstories57022 жыл бұрын
I don't think there is a consistent canon to Star Trek. Each series seems to have its own peculiarities and internal inconsistencies, too. I am reminded of a Douglas Adams comment that story-telling depends on the medium: a book, a radio show, and a film CAN'T be the same as they must entertain the audience in different ways. Star Trek has been and will be re-told differently each time because the culture around it changes. I like canon because I like consistency and hate surprises. But Star Trek will sacrifice consistency if it gets in the way of the script, seemingly out of either ignorance or boredom. And that's kinda okay for a fictional universe. The real reason why no one wants to revisit TAS: Lt. Arex's third arm.😜

"Captain! There's the ol' Bonaventure, the first ship to have warp drive installed! She vanished without a trace on her third voyage." Scotty in "The Time Trap," momentarily(?) forgetting Zef Cochrane. The episode also has "centuries old" Klingons with smooth brows in the council of aliens.
