Really cool to see interest and positive things about this pinball (people were too critical of this pinball back in the day). I never played this pinball but always thought how amazingly cool it would be to play it. Always loved the design and sound from this machine and love all the star wars pinball machines.

I own this game. Never understood the hate for it. Very balanced scoring, tons of modes, haven’t gotten to Jedi Spirit yet. The cabinets on these games are awesome looking, and out of all the pinball machines I’ve ever played, the Pin2000 games are by far the most well built and smoothest feeling games. Something about them, maybe it’s the weight or the fit and finish, but they’re awesome shooters. Way ahead of their time, and a shame that more weren’t made. SWE1 might be the most underrated game of all time.

Hi Mike, I currently use a AOC 22” Led monitor. I can’t get the graphics to line up with the ramps. I have tried many adjustments on the monitor. Also, would you recommend using the bezel that is available for this monitor fo give the OEM feel on the screen? I have upgraded to Nucore, so not sure if this makes a difference. Also, can you dumb down the resolution so the video clips are less pixilated when playing SW EP1? Thanks! David

Quick question...did you have to build a new shroud around the metal frame. I tried an lcd swap and didn’t like the silver frame reflection on the glass.

I did! I actually used electrical tape. I didn’t film that. I also thought about creating a black matte bezel to cover the gaps.

If you are using a NUCORE setup, does the LCD monitor need to be installed upside down?
@Arcadehollywood2 жыл бұрын
Hey Bob, I am actually using the original hardware in my Star Wars Ep I, however the Nucore will correctly flip the image so it will reflect off the special glass properly. I have NuCore just haven't used it...YET.

Have a question about this game i have it and wondering when does the Magnet activate? I havent seen it and i replaced mine because i thought it was broken.. is there a mode towards the end that it activates the Magnet?
@Arcadehollywood Жыл бұрын
That magnet is active during alot of the game, it's the "force". It's been awhile since I lifted my playfield up but you might have a blown fuse that is causing that magnet device to malfunction.

Cool video I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my episode 1. I'm in the process of upgrading to LEDs and was having some issues. When the ball is waiting to be launched all of the GI LEDs strobe which I don't care for. Just wondering if you've tried LEDs in your machine and experience the same issues if there's a fix I would really appreciate hearing about it thanks.

Hey Jeff. I took your advice and picked up one of these LCD panels. I see the panel requires 12VDC 3.5A through the supplied brick which is plugged into a normal outlet. I could see in the video you were using the brick, but I couldn't make out how the brick was hooked into the cabinet wiring for power. I'm working with a '82 Super Pac. The LCD might only be used temporarily if the flyback/cap kit fixes the CRT, so I don't want to do anything permanent, but I might need a longer term solution, too. I know, long term, I probably shouldn't be using the service outlet, for example. I do have the 0.093" pins/headers to convert to a socket. Overkill? I'm guessing you've solved this sort of issue already. I'm looking to make it easy for the family I'm helping. Thanks! Always love the videos!
@Arcadehollywood Жыл бұрын
Hey Slinger! One major thing I do when adding a mod or new type of tech is I keep everything original and build/crimp custom wiring to fit the originals...that way I can plug and play thing back to original if need be. Having an LCD monitor in this game makes great sense.
@slinger2112 Жыл бұрын
@@Arcadehollywood Thanks! I think I did cut the end off an extra computer power cord and put a monitor compatible header there. This way the monitor turns off when the game is powered off. Saves power and that monitor does put up a “no signal” box when the game is off (when plugged to the service port). It’s a more elegant solution. I made my way to Past Times a month ago. Even with some advice from Ralph, it’s hard to see everything. So many games! Thanks again!
@finstersrc30 Жыл бұрын
Can you explain this more clearly? Monitor compatible header where? Which Header? @@slinger2112
@slinger2112 Жыл бұрын
@@finstersrc30 The Vision Pro monitors use a AC adapter to get power through a DC barrel connector. The AC adapter uses the same AC cable as a computer power supply. You can power this from the game cabinet's service port, but it may be powered All the time the game is powered. I cut a computer power cable and crimped on the connector to mate to the isolated 120VAC that would have powered the CRT. This is after the lockout and power switch, so it turns off when the game is powered off. I'd be happy to fill in any other gaps.
