The lesson learned is that the Jedi misunderstood the nature of the Force. It's not that the Force is on the side of the good guys. Anakin did bring balance by teaching this lesson to Luke through his actions to correct the ways of the Jedi, but also not to be totally ruled by emotion like the Sith.
