The scene that always gets me is when he talks about Aayla Secura on Felucia and how she is the reason any of them even survived. He goes so far as to say about order 66, "When her time came, i hope it was quick. She earned that much." He even says it in a kind of sad way like he regretted the fact ahe had to die.

The journal is dark. You can tell the clones are speaking about the knowledge of inhibitor chips and how they couldn't control their actions how much they regret what they did

@@WarriorHumble24The only reason they've got any knowledge of the fact that they're going to betray the Jedi, was that before the 2008 series, the Clone Army's in universe reason for betraying them, was that they willfully did it. An example. In the ROTS Novelization, Cody says something along the lines of "did you have to let me give him his Lightsaber back before you gave us the order?" Under his breath after Sidious hangs up.

I prefer the version where they've got Inhibitor chips instead of being the "Brainwashed and Cold" Clone Wars Multimedia Project 2002-2006 Clone Troopers.

@Jor-ElJaig same it helps emphasize that the clones are just as much victims as the jedi even more so. Created only for war, made to serve jedi, they grew to admire then forced to kill their friends and give up their minds and bodies to the empire

Yeah I remember seeing another journal video that was longer than this but the quality was really low so I chose this one, but I never thought it would skip a few journal entries. Sorry about that and hope you still enjoyed the video! 😁

It still makes me sad that they changed how the clones were essentially double agents. The chips was such an easy cop out and it would make the clone wars much more interesting. For one it would make the clones that allied with the Jedi like rex much more impactful because he would've been on palpatines side and then defected

It's also just a really lame excuse, in part maybe almost NEEDED because Clone Wars humanized them TOO MUCH. (important: TOO MUCH, the issue isn't that they have been humanized and made more distinct! The issue is that Clone Wars made them too muhc like "folks that just happen to look like one another"). Because of how much they've been humanized, it probably would have felt less believable for newer audiences that they'd turn around like this. Or they Filoni didn't want younger audiences to go "Why my clones bad now?!" instead, they were forced. The Clones were drilled and indoctrinated since birth. Order 66 was one of hte many emergency orders (65 was the same for the CHancellor). They hear the order, they are drilled, indoctrinated to obey it. Such stuff USED to count for something. Then we got "child soldier Finn", who never really acts like somebody who's been indoctrinated and drilled since a young age... It doesn't count for anything with the clones... It, for me, is a really flat attempt at removing culpability from the clones... And honestly? Brainchip is a stupid idea. Because if any clone was put into hospital with a head wound, maybe shrapnell, it might have been found during the operation to remove it! It probably shoulda been found, but then the whole thing woulda fallen apart.

in the old eu and before the clone wars tv show it was a bit different when it came to order 66 and specifically jedi-clone relations. Palpatine was a very smart guy and he chose to put the jedi in leadership positions while they had no war training whatsoever furthermore clone troopers felt unnatural in the force which caused many jedi to see them as lesser and unnatural beings. most jedi were very incompetent in especially when it came to minimising casualties. some adapted like aayla secura and anakin skywalker and ended up being very much liked by their troops. but out of the millions of clones and the like a thousand jedi officers most never interacted with their jedi officers and like half of them that did didn't really like their jedi commander all to much or were indifferent to them. order 66 is part of the 150 contingency orders which were known by the jedi as well. the jedi also weren't that popular anymore in the wider republic. same goes for the views on aliens. The CIS were mostly alien led and the clone wars was very deadly. furthermore dooku was a jedi at some point and many of his followers were former jedi. the wider public basically blamed both the jedi and aliens for one of the deadliest conflicts in over a millenium. there were exceptions though as anakin for example was an absolute war hero and very popular in the republic and he was absolutely idiolised by his men. tensions between the republic and jedi were already quite strong and the supposed coup attempt by the jedi triggered order 66. now here's where it becomes very interesting because every clone that followed it actively chose to. they are brainwashed, sure. but not anymore then a more emotionally dependent human would be that was raised by the ones giving the order. so you get clones who are eager to execute the order, indifferent, feel bad but follow orders anyway or refuse to do so. some are confused and believe it to be a seperatist plot etc. to give you an example btw of the jedi being incompetent look at the first battle of geonosis where jedi order clones to charge the droid army in an openfield and furthermore they assisgned their commando forces which were specialised in infiltration and guerrila tactics......frontline duty which caused over half of all commando units to be wiped out.
