The SR-71 Blackbird that the X-men used is a real plane type which couldn't operate out of atmosphere for rather a lot of reasons. Pretty sure they hitched a ride on the Starjammer (or used Magik or whatever) for almost all of their off-planet activities.

If you're gonna assemble a team to fight Thanos, go all out! Bring in She-Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Firelord, Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock, Namor, Nova, Quasar, Sentry, The Guardians of the Galaxy (the even exist already in the movies; you're work's half done!)! Hell, since it's a threat to the Universe, you could even bring Villains and the Great Cosmic Beings into the fray! The opportunities are limitless!

boredbum2009 You mistake my intentions. Patton Oswalt is my favourite comedian. I have all of his shows on my iPod, I listen to him regularly, and I have naught but the utmost respect for him. I was just pointing out some of the inconsistencies, and saying that his choices for his superhero team could have better reflected something like the Infinity Gauntlet or Infinity War storylines, rather than just having a ragtag group of whoever's available. (Also, Parks and Recreation is a scripted show; no improv.)

Not gonna lie, some of this is actually pretty cool. I especially love the idea of Luke using Vader's old lightsaber, not just as a way of heritage but as a kind of reminder of how someone can fall from grace. Its also a nice nod to the original trilogy without ever feeling like fanservice or like its trying to just rehash the old films. Granted, most of the crazy shit like Thanos and The Fantastic 4 is bat shit crazy but hey what the hell.
