Ken was always one of those people who trusted Leslie to do the right thing, even when she messed up. In a town & career where so many people are only ever looking out for themselves, Leslie was always looking out for other people and always tried to do the right thing. Her interactions with Ken always show the effort she puts in to recognize all of Pawnee history, the good & the bad. I suppose one could view it as White Guilt, but I believe it demonstrates her willingness to tackle obstacles head on instead of dancing around them. Also, I love when Ken comes up to Ben, says "Here, stupid" in Wamapoke, then just throws dirt in his face. Kills me every time.
@54raynor
@54raynor 9 ай бұрын
It’s also very consistent with how she treats everybody in Pawnee. The people know she has everyone’s best interests at heart and puts others before herself, even if they don’t always agree with her. That’s why the Police Chief agrees to help with security for the Harvest Festival, the airport “loses” the bag that contains a bad interview, JJ’s diner lists her as their favorite customer, and someone like Ron Swanson goes above and beyond to support her political career.

@@HimanXK Yeah, Native Americans have to apply to the US government for eagle feathers, for which they have cultural and religious uses. Only card-carrying tribe members have the right to own a feather and giving one to a non-member-for instance, a grandchild-is a federal crime. Not every tribe or people is recognized. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has kept people poor and malnourished for decades. My guess is Ken hates the Feds more than Ron. 😅

Ken was a true legend, perhaps not the best character but certainly did an amazing perfomance with incredible humour in all of them

The more I watch this show, the more I’m convinced the secondary characters are some of the best out there 😂 I’m also really glad we get such a great Native American character as strong, sarcastic, and forward as Ken 🙏🏼

Ah, they used the Matchbox 20 cut of the curses bit. An alternative/other coast cut was "Rachel Ray". Personally, as a Kanienkeha'ka, I think "La La Land" would universally fit. Shame it didn't exist back then. 😂
