Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Check Out Day! | Porg Detection Mission, Q&A + Our Final Thoughts!

This is the end of our Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser series, we check out today, but before we leave the ship we take Jackson for his Porg Detection Mission that he missed on the second day. They set up a special mission just for him, it was pretty special. Then we have breakfast and check out of our Galactic Star Cruiser adventure. We get to see the merch outside before we leave and head back to real life. Then we head home and answer your most asked questions and give our final thoughts and honest review of our stay. The Starcruiser looks so cool but it is definitely not for everyone. Personally I know I would hate it because I'm just not an outgoing person and would struggle with the level of social interaction that is happening. One thing I kept thinking through the videos is "how do you know who works there and who is just a guest?"

The staff usually wears Blue shirts and light blue pants. The rest you have to know the character clothing by watching the movies. Plus they are very vocal. For me the price just kinda kills it for me.

most of the cast members are wearing name tags that either has the name of the character they are playing or have their actual name then with certain characters like the captain or Gaia it's pretty obvious since you see them during the story scenes

I still think it's overpriced but you can't deny the concept of basically an exclusive hotel with an interactive theater experience is genius. Star Wars or not. Edit: Thinking just inside Disney owned license I can imagine this concept expand to the Marvel universe as well.

Definitely not something I would ever really book but I still really enjoyed watching the videos! I think it’s a cool concept and wonder how they could apply this type of ‘cruise’ or vacation to other areas. Expanding it to other themes could definitely work as well especially with a younger audience in mind. The videos were great!

It was so much fun watching Jackson during the Porg detection!! So awesome Disney planned a perfect age-appropriate activity and he was able to do it on his own! This was my favorite video out of the series simply because of how cute it was to see Jackson so excited :) My college-aged daughter works at Disney World so we are there frequently, I still love watching your videos to find out what I need to go try. Still not sure if the Starcruiser would be worth the cost, but thank you for posting to give an idea on what to expect!

This series definitely confirmed that if you have kids who are still taking regular naps then it’s better to wait till they are older. There seems to be too much going on for a kiddo that young to really grasp and some may even be overwhelmed. This is the first set of videos about the cruise that I’ve watched where someone went with a small child. I kinda feel like the youngest I would take is probably 10. My niece is around Jackson’s age and I just don’t think she’d get as much out of it as my nephew who is 11. Edit to add that I’m not even sure I’d consider this an actual vacation. It seems more like a LARPing even that just happens to take 2 days and if one wants to relax this is not the vacation for them.

As a fan of the dark side, i think it really sucks that no matter what you’re knowingly choosing the loosing side, because then whats the point, might as well be on the side that’s always gonna come out on top to feel like you actually did something to help the storyline. I get it kids wanna see the good side win but like it’s not just kids there and it’d be fun to actually feel like there’s more then one outcome to get and gives a reason to really try and participate. Maybe it’s just me being a dark side person but 🤷🏽‍♀️

So my thoughts overall on this; the whole concept seems fun. Especially to those who are into LARP, and Star Wars. It's certainly not something for those who are looking for a relaxing vacation, it's definitely for people who want to be more active on their getaway and do stuff. I still believe that the price tag is not justifiable, as it blocks off and discourages many who are interested, but don't have the money to participate. Of course, it's up to others to do what they want with their money, but I hope that not too many people have gotten into financial trouble for the sake of going to this. I may come across as boring, and while I don't condemn people who want to choose to spend their money on this, the truth is, it's probably not worth doing this if you're not in the right position financially at the moment in time where you go to do it. Again, apologises if I seem like I'm trying to be a financial advisor, but it's never fun being in debt and strained with your finances, and I don't like the thought of people going through that. Especially since the last few years have been rough on so many, particularly with their money situations. Whether or not this is worth it is pretty subjective, but I would argue that it wouldn't be worth experiencing this if it will end up putting a big strain on your everyday life, where you'll be stressing out about making up the money to replace what you've spent. Enough with my lame lecture, glad you guys had a good time, and Jackson's Porg Hunt was cute.

Hi guys even though I’m not a Star Wars fan I can see by Tim’s reaction that it meant a great deal for you both to do the starcruiser and it was definitely worth it for true fans in my opinion, so much interaction made it very magical . As a former cast member I can really relate to that level of magic that they produce . It is a shame that Jenn did not have quite the same experience but she definitely will next time you go . My biggest takeaway from this whole thing is that the Starcruiser is not a cruise, not a vacation, and not a hotel. It's a Star Wars-themed, overnight dinner theater + escape room experience. Which sounds awesome, for people who are into that. That being said, even though I've been a Star Wars nerd for 20+ years, that is not what I'm looking for. I would have paid the same money- or even more- for a legitimate luxury hotel or simulated cruise, with little or none of the game/mission elements. Top-end food from a Michelin-starred chef, but make it Star Wars. Luxury accommodations, but make it Star Wars. Spa, pool, other amenities, but make it Star Wars. Punch up the quality of the theming- get all the fine details right, more decor and lighting, more realistic environments and costumes. I'd happily drop 2k/night to feel like I'm just a dude in a galaxy far, far, away, taking an actual vacation on an actual luxury ship or space hotel. But I'm not interested in spending that money to do a PG-rated roleplay on a generic movie soundstage with lazily themed food, Holiday Inn accommodations, and zero resort amenities.

Room temperature water is a cultural thing. I used to live next door to an Asian student and she never drank cold water, so that may be why they set that up for their foreign guests. Also there are some of us who don't do cold water either. Myself, I would rather have room temp water. Also, maybe they should add a departure lounge like on the cruise line.

Cold water is very out of the ordinary outside the us. In Nz we literally drink room temp tap water at restaurants. Just in general, “cold” drinks just aren’t a popular thing. Coffee and tea is almost always hot except maybe in the depths of summer. No ice macchiafrothocinos for us. And at restaurants, it would be very rare for anyone (who’s not a child) to have fizzy pop or milkshakes or anything cold as a beverage. The only thing served chilled would probably be beer.

Edit: this doesn’t mean I didn’t really love seeing y’all have fun, I really loved hearing the pitch of Tim’s voice go up as he got so excited. I did absolutely enjoy all the work that Jenn put into these videos. She has real talent and it showed with the videos, they were easy to follow💛 This series definitely cemented to me that we will not do it. I could not handle the yelling and the awkwardness of it all, and how nothing seemed to make logical sense. The cost as well is nothing we’ll ever have for disposable income anyway. I wouldn’t say the acting is bad by all means, the actors were very talented I think. I hope they’re paying them a ton. But I was disappointed by kylo’s voice and the stunt work, and the fact that we don’t have anything like this in galaxy’s edge. Like diagon alley has celestina and hogsmeade has the shows, I wish the entertainment wasn’t behind a paywall of the starcruiser. I just am sad that they didn’t seem to invest at all in classic Star Wars and only based it on the new series. As an autistic Star Wars fan, I couldn’t ever do the starcruiser.

Oh my goodness, Jackson's happiness at finding the porgs was adorable. From watching your videos for a long time now I figured you'd give a balanced review, and you did. Would this be worth it for me? No. That kind of money is a big chunk of my income, and being *coughcough* years older than you it seems like it'd be exhausting. But I suppose if you're younger and have a fairly high income, go for it if that's what you're into. The cast members all seem to do a good job, and thanks for explaining the "controversial" Rey light saber switch. I do think since so many people have been doing video reviews that would take away from the surprise element. They ought to have several different kinds of main storylines to switch out. The thing I find most interesting is while everyone knows star wars is set in space in a different galaxy, it's very easy to forget despite its futuristic appearance, it's actually set in the past. So for story's sake when you travel to batuu, not only are you traveling through space, but also through time.
