Those fucking Dragons in their cave is one of the creepiest scenes in any game. Gives me still the chills today. It just baffles me how groundbreaking this game was. It even inspired later stealth shooters like the Thief series or Deus Ex.

I kind of liked this level, it's such a cool design; and the way it's designed, it's almost like an Egyptian pyramid in some ways.

When I was going through this level yesterday I thought I was walking through a Mayan temple for a moment. It looks amazing for a 90's game. And it proves that graphics don't have to be a problem

The drill is so big, because the Empire decided to dig up a larger part of the area to find the entrance as soon as possible. Uncovering the site in a subtle manner wasn't their goal, neither was preserving the Valley as a historical place or an archeological site.

It is the Empire, and Jerec was talking about power to reshape the galaxy. But they did found some self-heating ration can that lasted eons, so they did some archaeology dig.

heh, fifteen years back i would have pissed my pants at those kell dragons and probably wouldn't touch the game ever again. seriously, now that i think about it, Jedi Knight is pretty damn scary for kids. i mean a game like Shadows of the Empire got its moments (especially the IG-88 fight and the sewer level near the end) but most of the time the surroundings are pretty light so i didn't really have much trouble getting through it when i was younger. anyway, i see a lot of Tomb Raider inspiration in this level (fighting monsters, solving puzzles etc). sadly, it's also the ugliest one, at least on the unpatched vesion that i have. the original textures have a really hard time telling the boundary between light and dark so everything looks rather poor. shame, i really like the design of the temple or whatever it might be. and the kell dragons, as always, are not to be messed with, even though one will never leave his corner of the room. btw, i wonder if they were brought over there by Jerec or found inside when they excavated it? if the former then what was the point, and if the latter... what did they eat all these years, energy cells?

yarpen26 possibly Jerec brought them over as theres the hidden one Jerec's tower before the Yun fight. I dont see many playthroughs ever find it though, probably because its pointless to achieving any secret or objective.

I used to have similar reactions to the Kell Dragons, only I cringed every time I encountered one, not only in this game, but the one in the original "Dark Forces" as well, I don't know if you played that one though...

Bit of trivia, the Kell Dragons were meant to be Krayt Dragons. But the description didn't fit the one they made, so they made it a Kell Dragon. Second Bit of Trivia: Kell Dragons are in SWTOR. THOSE are as big as Krayt Dragons!

It's possible to max out all force powers. I'm not sure what it is that gives you the extra star. It might be playing on hard because I know I've gotten maxed powers on both light and dark hard playthroughs.

I hated those Kell Dragons in that room. I always just ran like hell and hope I would get to the proper hole without getting bit in the ass. Also, I've gotten stuck quite a few times at that puzzle. (A-D-D-F_Toxic)

First time for me I wonder why there were all these parts of stormtroopers until I remembered the picture on the back of the CD case and heard the sounds. I saw the Kelldragon's sillouette when I fired the big gun. I got closer and killed only to discover the SECOND ONE off you my right with it's big mount full of teeth. Never before had a game given me such a jumpscare.

Those Kell Dragons are killable? I was shooting so many rockets and concussion blasts at it and they wouldn't die. I tried to melee it with my lightsaber and died lol. In the end I just ran past and went down the hole. Didn't need to kill them.

Pretty cool level. It barely remembers the last level of Jedi Academy on Korriban. Now it's just two more levels and two more Dark Jedi to beat... When you finish this game, you'll resume "The Godfather" let's play? Also, you plan to play the expansion pack of Dark Forces II with our female Jedi hero Mara Jade? Anyway, I'm excited to watch the ending of this game. Nice video, LBF!

Thanks, man! Just two more levels, and very short levels at that, until this game is finished. And yeah, I'm hoping once this is all done, I'll get The Godfather back on track. But as far as Mysteries of the Sith goes, I'm still debating whether or not I should do it, the thing is, I'm trying to get all the patches and mods working with it, but when I do, I might LP it. =)

I have jedi academy, and man I f*cking love that game, and also I modded my game aswell and I added some npc's like darth vader, darth maul, kyloren, palpatine and some the ep3 lighsaber blades from jimmyggs91, so yeah jedi academy I love more tha other jedi knight games. just so you know I have personal favorite jedi knight games: #1 Jedi Academy #2 Jedi Outcast #3 Dark forces 2 and maybe mysteries of the Sith, I don't know much about MOTS yet, but when you going to make Mysteries of the Sith i'm sure going to watch it. but about the first Dark forces game I really don't care and don't like it because the most important thing which is the lightsaber and force powers are not in that game so that is disappointing about dark forces 1 and the animations are bit bad. but yeah i really liked your let's play of dark forces 2, man!

The lightsaber works faster on kill Kell Dragons than any of the explosive weapons do.

You can't through the window but you can cut it with the lightsaber when you pass over the dumbwaiter.

They are cousins to Krayt Dragons, which are native to Tatooine. Not sure if that's where the Kell variant is originally from though.

No, I don't think you missed anything. You might have gone a different way in the cave which may have only alerted one of the two Kell Dragons. But yeah, that cave is actually bigger than one might think.
