I find it a lot harder but also a lot more satisfying since this is what I always imagined lightsaber combat to be - very dangerous but also very rewarding if you're good

Basically what you got back in Jedi Outcast if you used cheats to set lightsaber damage to max. Most enemies died in one hit, and you could take maybe two hits with full shields. I used to spawn in tons of weaker Dark Jedi enemies just to see how many I could take.

Regular combat is definitly more difficult but on the other hand Purity completely trivializes boss fights and makes them ridiculously easy. Ofc, you can just switch it out beforehand but it's too bad that they didn't have the time to include a workaround for the perk in boss fight.

Meh, this ruins the entire game for me. Swarms of enemies are already annoying and somewhat difficult and with this perk they are even more so. I enjoy memorising the bosses and their patterns since they are so well crafted and this perk just makes all of that useless. But it is a lot more realistic though

I love this perk. Its like Ghost of Tsushima's lethal mode. Its tough but realistic

IMO it’s not very realistic that a Jedi can be one-shot by a chicken but it’s still a lot of fun.

If you get shot with a few blaster bolts as well, you are usually done for, so I like this perk.

commando purge troopers are nightmares if you don’t deal with them first, especially with little to no force meter.

i play normal lightsaber and this heavy one. but even on "Hard" crossguard makes too much dmg compared to the other stances.

I just blazed through the game with a dual saber and throwing my lightsaber to one shot most enemies and two shot the biggies, I completed it in 8.1 hrs on grandmaster with remixed enemies

Wouldn't call it OP, and I'm not even sure I'd call it a "perk" since it doesn't give you any advantage over the enemy characters. It's more of a _condition._

Definitely gives you an advantage. You kill a boss in 1 hit, which makes the game a little easier tbh

@@RelativelyBest not really because yeah you could die quickly too but you retry a lot quicker, and it’s definitely a lot easier to hit a boss before you get hit. Like even for some enemies that’s super hard are easier. Because you can shoot them to kill them quicker

@@stevieb274 Well, I guess that's true if we're talking about opponents who could already do far more damage to you than vice versa. Like, if the Spawn of Oggdo can normally one-shot you anyway, he doesn't really gain anything from the perk, or at least not as much as you do. In that case it evens the playing field to your favor, and I can agree that's a benefit. Still, that's kinda conditional. Over-all, I still don't think it can really be called a "perk" if it also benefits every enemy in the game, even if you can make better use of it. I just don't think that's how that word is supposed to be used.

@@RelativelyBest glad you mentioned the spawn of Oggdo. I’ve beaten the two of at a time on the 2nd hardest difficulty, and that took forever. New game+ hardest difficulty with Perk I beat them two frogs so fast you would’ve thought I was playing on easy mode. That’s what I mean by advantages.

Purity arguably makes crossguard worse because it loses its benefit of being the most damaging, since the other sabres now do near identical, plus the charged deflect doesn't also increase in power
