Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Review | The BEST Star Wars Game EVER?

In this Star Wars Jedi Survivor review video we give our official spoiler free review and impressions of the story, gameplay, and performance after spending over 30 hours and completing the game. We completed the story and our review of Jedi Survivor on PlayStation 5 and is 4K gameplay(PS5).
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor truly has its work cut out for it as its predecessor set an incredibly high bar with loveable characters that quickly became fan favorites, an incredible and dark story, and an exhilarating lightsaber combat system. It was clear from the closing moments of Fallen Order that the next game would have a daunting mission to bring something truly special to the table in order to elevate the franchise to the next level. After spending roughly 30 hours with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, it is safe to say that Respawn has accomplished that mission. Jedi Survivor takes everything that we loved about Fallen Order and vastly improves upon it. The game opens on a familiar and fan favorite planet and from there players embark on a truly enthralling journey that masterfully brings together elements of all the various eras of Star Wars into an incredible story and places it as one of the best if not the best Star Wars game stories of all time.
What truly makes the story of Jedi Survivor special is the fantastic character moments that are bound to pull at your heartstrings. Throughout the game we felt a strong and deep emotional connection to every single character, their intentions in the galaxy, and the daunting challenges that they face. As the story progresses it becomes very clear that the stakes in Jedi Survivor are much higher than they were in Jedi Fallen Order and thanks to the wonderful storytelling from Respawn, there were countless moments where we found ourselves loudly cheering… or our hearts racing and palms sweaty from certain predicaments we would not DARE spoil in this review. Every time we thought we finally understood the direction the story was headed in, Respawn would throw us a curveball that left us questioning everything and everyone around us.
Now when it comes to games, a great story is only half the battle as it doesn’t really matter how good the story of a game is if the gameplay is subpar. Thankfully, this is not something to be concerned about with Jedi Survivor as the game does a great job of taking the strong foundation of gameplay from Fallen Order and elevating it to a next level. Jedi Survivor offers three additional combat stances from the two original stances in Fallen Order bringing the grand total to five individual lightsaber combat stances each with their own unique set of animations, skill trees, and abilities.

It's better to have a few bugs and fps drops than a shit ass woke story and dogshit gameplay. The gameplay looks to be a solid 10/10, the worlds 10/10, the story seems intriguing so it's going to be a w for me no doubt. But we'l see if i'm right in a few days.

Saber customization needs a randomize button, same for clothing and BD 1. Also if I'm not mistaken Cal's clothes customizations also match how the styles would have been in the 70's when the movies first came out.

Great question! Honestly no, because the “60fps” mode didn’t seem to be playing in 60fps anyways. It was a bit jarring to have drops from 60 as opposed to the stable 30. Of course, 60 is always better when it’s truly 60, but that wasn’t the case in our experience.

I didn't watch the review because I want it all to be a surprise at this point... but what system did you guys play on? I've read a lot of posts stating there are some serious performance issues on PC (and PS5). Did you guys notice any of this?

We played on PS5 and had issues with performance mode (1440p60) was having trouble holding 60fps, especially struggling on Koboh in more expansive environments. The quality mode (4k30) ran smoother for us and looked way better, even though it wasn’t 60fps.

I've been playing and it's a super solid game. Big areas. The story is good and dynamic. It has that special Star Wars spice of bordering on the serious and being overly cheesy. Combat is fun. Yeah, solid game. 9/10. Only deduction is the rare freeze and crash. Happens maybe once every 3-4 hours. Nothing detrimental. Game saves frequently so I haven't lost any serious progress if at all.
