Lucasfilm, not Disney. It's very ambitious, TOO much. They don't want to risk their money if this is gonna be interested only to the hardcore fans and not the general public. I am the first one who wants Old Republic material being used for a cartoon show or live show, but I'll get why they don't do it, in the meantime.

Seriously, Disney released the rights to make unspecified IP's to multiple game developers, It might actually just be secretly in development? I know Respawn, and Visceral are making Star Wars titles. Unfortunately we're pretty in the dark. It's a wild guess, but maybe one of those two are making either a reboot or hopefully KOTOR III, Republic/Imperial Commando and maybe Jedi Knight: Jedi academy 2 etc?

KOTORs 1 and 2 need to be remade, with Mass Effect graphical quality, and inserted into the current canon. This must happen. This needs to happen. The user base is there, waiting to spend money.

Pretty sure it will never get done. They just modeled few pieces of nice environment and put it into UDK. There are hundreds of these ambitious "remakes" around that never get past this stage, because modelling few shiny assets and making a functional game on top of them are two completely different things.

Anything that isn't part of the films, the clone wars, or anything made after the Disney acquisition is not considered canon. That being said there were plans to have Revan make a guest appearance in The Clone Wars. There is still hope.

It's amazing how the arriving and departing scenes for each planet are done much better than in SWTOR. They finally did add some variety to some of the planets but when I first played SWTOR I was expecting something more dramatic for those scenes like they did in KOTOR.
