Really enjoying this bat rep. As a new player with the clone core set, its been hard to get games with COVID restrictions but I'm learning the interplay with other factions from these battles. I also really appreciate the really quick explanations for noobs on stuff. Super helpful. And I SUPER like that if stuff borderline rules wise you just play through and dont get hung up on checking every tiny little LOS on every model.

I've been daydreaming about hero-heavy lists. Nice to see one in Action. I don't think they are the strongest lists, but to me... heroes and villains are what Star Wars is about.

@@JP-nh7fe Yeah, Anakin and Maul only increased my desire to do it! Luke, Anakin, and Obi vs Dooku, Maul, and Vader sounds like a good time to me. I may even force my kids into a free for all game where we each have a character or something.

I've had dreams of running virtually the same list for a long time; I really appreciate hearing about specific weakness (ie: not being able to throw enough offensive dice).

B2s add a whole new layer to the CIS. B1s are cool, but the B2s add contrast and look marvelous lined up like in the beginning. Great video!

Thanks for the fantastic videos!! I run Droids myself and asked one of the experienced players in my local community about guardian with B2s and their armor. He told me that armor applies while using guardian, but I wasn’t sure if that was right or not. Obviously you all played it like it doesn’t, which makes sense because otherwise grievous could bowling ball into crowd with some naked B2s and negate multiple hits every shot, but I just wanted to make sure!

Thanks Tyler. As the hits on the original unit are cancelled during the "Modify Attack Dice" step, there is no timing available for Armor to kick in. The same applies with Dodge Tokens unless you have a special rule allowing you to use them like Kenobi has.

I really think the separatists should get magna guards as a special operations unit and grievous or dooku receive an errata which could give them entourage to that unit....idk I think that would just be really cool :) other than that great battle report for sure!

Early on we did a 1,200 point 2vs1 game but to be honest I found that to be a lot less fun than a standard game of Legion. I must admit the spectacle of having 1,600 points on the table would be pretty awesome though!

Good battle, tough run for the rebels there. Also have had thoughts on that hero heavy list. Bad turn that last round with the saves. Turn 0 could of been the difference for Chris but with such a large deployment area is tough to call. Think the war corgi is looking kinda poodle-ish thou Michel, haha.

Thanks mate! We used to have the deployment run at x24 speed but found it didn't add much to the video. Hero heavy lists have a place but they were well countered by the large number of droid bodies on the table. Had Chris gone up against the Empire or Republic, it is likely he would have pierced his way to victory. As it was the low dice pools had a hard to defeating enough droids to get the win.

Great battle report gents. Who would have thought B1 droids would finish off Luke! Not sure why you would place a dodge token on AT-RT when they cancel all hits anyway?

The reason to take a dodge on the AT-RT is because you apply Dodge and Cover before applying Impact to turn regular hits to Critical hits. This means that if I had rolled a single hit with my Impact weapons, Chris could have dodged it and taken no damage. This is why the pilot who gives Cover 2 on the Air Speeder and Land Speeder is so good.

It seems like you guys are calculating the Defense dice using the initial number of hits and crits. Aren’t you meant to only roll the same amount of defence dice as hit/crits after cancellations from dodge and cover? Great game though!

Not sure what part of the video that you referencing but yes you only roll the amount of defense dice required after cancellations from dodge and cover. I am confident that we do it correctly and would be interested to see the instance that you think we got it wrong.

War Corgi Just watched again. It was my mistake. The attack was on Grievous, and I confused the dice he gains when attacked by pierce as a die from the original weapon attack. Apologies

We played a larger game using 1,200 points in Episode 3 and concluded Legion works best at 800 points.

Thanks Michael. I am pretty sure that was exactly what Chris did with his AT-RTs. That works against a lot of lists, but with all the bodies the CIS brought he probably would have been better protecting them a bit more.

Are you playing Guardian correctly? The way I read it is Grevious defends for other units not the other way around. So if your B1s are getting shot you'd roll a red defender die for Grevious to defend the shot.

The command card Supreme Commander gives other friendly units that have face up order tokens Guardian not General Grievous.

Thanks for the question. It was more often than not Esteemed Leader coming into play, but that allows Corps units to gain Guardian 1 for that leader. We played it correctly.

Hey, in Round 2, how did Grievous get a Dodge token and a Standby token? He was suppressed, he should have only had one action, right? Or did I miss something?

Grievous still had his 2 actions because he has a Courage of 2. At the time he only had one suppression so he would still get both his actions. Dodge and Standby

Lot's of people use Tauntauns mate. They have appeared on the channel at least one time before. Otherwise, we have limited resources and do not have access to all the units due to constraints. Tauns were just something I picked up recently and am still painting up.

This game would be perfect if they offered some generic commanders, like a droid or storm trooper commander. I like the models, but do not like playing named characters.

Thanks for that Alex. They did come out with generic Imperial and Rebel officers to play with. Hopefully they will release the same types of commanders for CIS and GAR soon.
