Star Wars: Legion: Maul's Shadow Collective List

I wanted to make a list focusing on Maul for the shadow collective since I know people really like to play him. I wanted a list that could gunline for him while he and his commandos go in and do what needs to be done. Oh yeah I'm here for this. With the commandos flying around soaking shots your Pykes can just go to town. Boarded my opponent the other day with a similar list, just had a squad of Black sun and a vigo (but let's be real they're not that great)

Def! They can soak up a lot with that surging to defense. As long as those dice pools are small. I do like pykes a lot more. They are still pretty tanky sometimes with that surge and danger sense

@@shadowscout0013 I've never had a squad of Black sun survive but I think it's by design. Putting them ahead of your whip Pykes soaks a ton. With backline shield commandos obviously engaging first, this basically ensures you get the Pyke swarm in range. Your options are just so bleak 1. Focus Pykes, tougher to hit right away being your slowest unit and in the backline so only about half the enemies units even have the range to hit them. Which just means the enemy backline is nuked by commandos while BS shotguns ruin their frontline 2. Focus blacksun and you basically ensure the Pyke swarm engages and the commandos have free reign on your backline. They're just too tanky to KO quickly. Instant GG 3. Focus Commandos? Yeah they basically cant die with shields and maul support GL 😂 4. Split fire? Cache dodges and independent basically make this the worst thing to do since their bulk is getting replenished every turn. S tier army, sorry for the book but we been chatting about these dudes for a bit now. After theorycrafting and playing with them, ain't no way this list doesnt hit the meta.

@@shadowscout0013 Cool. Do you think the 501st is competetive? I have already played the 501st and especially with Anakin i think they are great.

@@thechosenone5216 I honestly don't know. Im not the most familiar with clones. I know they token share and keep people close, which is different for me. Plus everything is so expensive. So I'm trying to figure out what units go well together, who should support who and how, and what do about objectives and strategies. I think they're competitive, maybe not as much as empire, rebels, or the SC, but clones have won a lot and they have red saves and black attack dice. So I think no matter what, clones rule.

Looks like a really nice maul list. That's a lot of good firepower and I feel like it balances melee and close range with long range weapons as well. It looks like a really nice balanced list. That BS vigo will come in handy with the courage value.
