@@johnb.2107It’s reasonable to a point. I think all of the rule changes are good and make the game more interesting. But all the changes should have been dropped at the same time. That some units that need updating didn’t get updated hurts and throws the balance off.

@@TokonF The biggest issue my locals had is that there isn't any physical product for the new edition to assist in playing it. We still don't have updated card packs, and apparently won't until Summer 2025?! Same with the new half range ruler, and POI tokens. The new edition feels like a lazy homebrew pushed out by a few dudes in a garage, and not a company large enough to have a Lucasfilm license. The changes may mostly be good, but it took two years of bumbling around with all the previously FFG games, poor communication, bad website design, two of the Star Wars games getting cancelled after one of them got a botched new edition, and now a half baked beta version of a new edition that you can't get anything for without making it yourself. The optics are horrendous for anyone getting into the game right now, and don't inspire confidence for those who were already playing.

49:23 I mean the darks not having armor 5 isn’t the only unit rebels lost full armor on 3 different units and only one of them got armor 5 and that was the truck

As a rebel and empire player it is wild this edition was even released, my rebels struggle against pretty much everything and have to either go crap ton of activations(lame) or heavy into characters leaving me with no minis really. Empire is good and i like running 2 units of death troopers as yeah they want to kill things in a game that has become very lethal. Arcs being what they are is way out of balance due to how the edition launched and commandos not being in the elite slot is wild and should be placed there for more variety in the clone special forces slot.

I def think the base ARC unit going up will help, it seems silly that as a base unit for 2 points extra you trade reliable and range 3 for all of their 6 keywords and double attack dice per model is insane. Not really sure why they dropped a whole 8 points in the update.

In the interview... "Republic is over-performing"... yeah lol :). Nerfs are not needed.. just make counters to their stuff or make certain things better. He also acknowledged a problem with Rebel's white dice.

They need to do a balance change now. Waiting 8 months is too long for the current game state. They will likely have to do another balance pass after the next wave but they will need months of data like they have now to know what to adjust. They could always adjust the clone stuff again during the second wave's adjustments.

I think bxs are far better than mangas, w/swords their melee is significantly better than mangas, they are 15 points cheaper, quicker (scout, plus speed 3 in exd) the poison is phenomenal if you can get them into a hard to kill unit (anikan, commandos, Vader etc), like yeah you lose guardian but still, I think bxs are significantly better, I always chuck 1 squad in at the end of my list to fill it out but fitting magnas is always awkward and inconvenient

The problem is that the big communities converted before it was finished. The legion discord is especially guilty of forcing the community into this beta state instead of allowing people to stay in the more complete legacy ruleset. but instead youre not even allowed to talk about the old ruleset or theory build with that ruleset outside of #homebrew. Banished to the shadow realm. Even though its not a complete game now.

Nothing is stopping you from playing legacy at home or in your FLGS, but you have recognize that it *is* legacy. There's no point in having broader discussion about a game system that isn't current and won't see any competition play. Like, an analogy I'm thinking of when I hear this: Imagine you're on the forums for a multiplayer PC game or MMO, and after a 2.6 update/patch is released people complain "why isn't anyone going into Steam settings and forcing a revert to V2.5? Why aren't the forums doing discussion on a build only playable on a private server?"

The facts are that only 1/3 of the game actually received the update facelift while 2/3 remain outdated and balanced around a different ruleset which brings into question the integrity of the game. Its gonna make competetive events even more skewed towards unbalanced lists and less spread out over the whole game.

@@NChambernator no it is current. It just isn't complete. But neither is the game in 1 year. In one year, there will still be units we are waiting to have realeased for the game to feel more complete. The game isn't complete until they are done developing. And when that happens, its just ending. Like how legacy just ended. itll never be perfect, but it is the current rule set

This new version isn't a beta, it's the new version, this decision was made by AMG as an official statement where they said (Keep in mind I'm paraphrasing here) "as of X date that date (being around August) these are the rules for the game if you're going to play in an official tournament." most communities are Ran and supported by people who play competitively the people who TO and organize tournaments are USUALLY people who are more likely to travel and go to big conventions therefore they're going to run an event that is current and up to date.

@@owenmontgomery9263 You must not be following what AMG is going through. Their sales for the games they created have tanked and Legion is probably the most profitable game system they have. They needed to up profits fast so they're releasing half-assed updates that increase sales. The most important 2.6 change for them was increasing army sizes to 1000 so they can sell more stuff. It doesn't matter that they didn't playtest it or have it even complete. They need to show papa Asmodee they deserve to stay in business. IMO, they will go belly up in a year and FFG will take on all the licenses again. AMG drove X-Wing and Armada into the ground and are doing the same with legion. The community should be prepared to balance things on their own and ignore AMG just like the other star wars properties had to.
