It was great to finally find my Power Of The Force Electronic F/X Luke Skywalker’s RED FIVE X-Wing Fighter when I did my recent RAIDERS OF THE LOFT ACTION FIGURES series.
It really is a great toy and I can’t believe I’ve owned it for 24 years.😂

Got 300 dollars in middle school doing studies for asthma medication and bought one of my own. Easily my favorite toy I ever had. Still have it today.

Thanks Ed. I’ve also got the original POTF2 Tonka Kenner electronic X-Wing which I picked up in 1996 together with the Tie Fighter. Now I’d love Hasbro to release all these old ships and play sets again for the Retro Collection.👍😉

It is a wonderful ship. I’d forgotten just how good it was. Great movie sounds but my favourite feature is the light up engines. I can’t believe I’ve had it 24 years.👍😉

Now this I always wanted, I eyed it longingly on the shelves for months but it was hellishly expensive. I eventually got the later inferior non-electronic version, and it was fine, but I still pine for this one.

@mastersjoke you ha e to hold r2 head down to fire the engen. If you press it once it starts them but if you hold him down it fires them

A cross-over toy, I suppose... If I was given that as a kid, I'd have ripped into it to get Luke out and make room to get a figure in there, no head n shoulders for me! Finally got the lights to work, didn't you read the instructions again!?

😂😂😂The instructions are still in the box up in the loft. I didn’t even remember that the engine had red lights. A very nice touch. I’m sure Admiral Piett was at that Showmasters STAR WARS event in Cheshunt back in 1999 where I picked up this bad boy X-Wing.😉👍

I had an oppurtunity to aquire this lately. Passed on it, because of Luke Steroidwalker. Instead I bought a Rebels one and a common POTF X-Wing. Best of both worlds if you ask me

It’s a great toy. I know the POTF2 He-Man Star Wars figures aren’t that popular but I really like them. I guess it was just great having Star Wars figures and vehicles back on the shelves but this time I had a job and money.😂😂😂😂

@@mastersjoke Yeah I remember people being excited about "Return of the Star Wars Toys" after having to imagine with playing Bend ems like an insane nut. I remember the lightsabers were fascinating. I bought a Luke, Obi Wan and Vader. To me the toy line was both fascinating and strange at the same time. I bought in total I think 5 figures. To me the price was quite high and even then I always felt the real kenner ones were better. Therefore I would aquire more Vintage Kenner ones at Flea Markets than Hasbro ones ever. Although I understand when people even have nostalgia for the POTF2 Figures, I think they would be more succesful if they rereleased the Vintage Kenner ones back then. There would be way more collectors, the roster would be pretty complete and there wouldn't be a Retro Collection nowadays.

@JustMe-tm5dc Yeah, I would of loved that but don’t forget, they did release a retro line in America in the mid 90’s and the fans and collectors went absolutely mad which is why no other figures were released, only POTF2. It was a box of 4 figures with Han Solo small head, Luke Skywalker, Chewie, and Darth Vader. Luckily I have a set.👍😉

@@mastersjoke But to be honest I think they could have marketed better. To me a 4pack looks pretty stupid to start a line, especially figures that existed before. So the outcry wasn't really about Vintage Kenner figures. It was about a rerelease of known figures and the quality of plastic or "rubber" let's say being used. I mean Mattel never had to turn Barbie into Shehulk in order to market her to the current generation. Since Star Wars never was about "say your prayers, take your vitamins and you will never go wrong" ,the bulking of the figures were a total debacle.

Great review. I loved this toy. I think it was a great blend of an amazing sculpt and a perfect implementation of lights and sounds. I actually do miss lights and sounds in a toy. You would think in this day and age there would be more advanced features light lights and sounds in Star Wars toys especially in the latest Haslab offerings but it looks like the last great Star Wars toy with lights and sounds was the Smuggles Run Millennium Falcon. I could be wrong though. Thanks for the review. I am glad I was able to pick up one of these for myself.

It’s a great toy X-Wing and I’ve always loved the sounds and lights. I think you might be right about the Falcon being the last great electronic Star Wars Toy. I bought mine from Shop Disney. I haven’t got round to opening it yet as I just don’t have the room. Another great electronic toy is the Battle Droid Multi-Troop Transport. I picked one up earlier this year. Absolutely fantastic.👍😉

Thank you for your video! I just bought an unopened box of this and the engine lights came on for a moment after putting in new batteries but then never again. Did you ever figure out how to fix that? Other sound effects work. Edit: I messed around with pushing R2's head, changing attack foils, etc. and got it to light once. Have no idea how or why as I can't make it happen again despite getting the engine noises often.

I think it was quite obvious in my video that I didn’t have a clue what I was doing.😂😂After I made the video I realised how the engines worked but now I can’t remember. My X-Wing is still in my toy room so I’ll put some batteries in it and see if I can get it working again. A really fantastic toy. I’m sure it had something to do with R2-D2.🤔👍
