Awesome reaction! That time with Zeb and the coldest imperial welcome he received back then really paid off!

When you analyze it, Thrawn's logic already extends much further: He already suspects who the spy might be but needs to be certain. So: He tells Pryce and Kallus about the spy. This way, Pryce won't do anything rash, allowing Thrawn to observe and draw accurate conclusions. And Kallus, who is on the list of suspects (because he wasn't present during the sabotage), has been added to the "trusted list" because who in their right mind would tell a potential spy that there is a problem with a spy? In this way, Thrawn lulls the suspect into a false sense of not being detected and being trusted, giving him too much confidence, which can make it much easier for the suspect to make a mistake. This is a very simple but brilliant move.
