I also got stuck on this one. You're limited to a ship with no missiles and the janky tow cable take-downs were a pain to pull off.

I was stuck on this level for a while myself cause I couldn't figure out how to use the harpoon and tow cables until one day I hit the left and right C buttons and I figured out how to activate them

@@Minsc205 I think it's.... Right-C by default. The same button that fires missiles or drops bombs on other ships. But you have to get close enough to the legs first to make it fire - Luke will say "Activate Harpoon" when you are in position. From there, loop around the legs three or four times without crashing or getting shot down.

Ok, I have learned to use the cable when the copilot says "Activate the harpoon".

One thing I really remember in this game was collecting upgrades because the dialogue was always off. For example at 6:11; it starts out with one guy's voice and ends with another. They just merged to different audio tracks.

You can actually kill the AT-AT's without using the harpoon and tow cables by shooting them in the neck, though it takes a lot of shots.

I learned that weak point Durning Battlefront 2 Original when as Rocket Trooper, As well as Targeting weak points on Trade Federation AAT’s, Commerce Guild’s Homing Spider Droids the Leg Joints between the sides. Imperial AT-ST’s the spot holding the Legs & Head Together. The Wheel Struts on a Hail-fire Droid. The Rear of a TX-130 Republic/ Imperial Fighter Tank. But I would’ve Bombarded The AT-AT’s with Destructive EMP Ion Bomb’s.

In the N64 version. The part where you protect Madine's shuttle. The Tie Fighters are replaced with Tie Bombers.

I just played this mission on my N64 and they are indeed TIE Fighters, not TIE Bombers, that are going after the shuttle

If you're playing on N64 you activate them by flying close to the legs and pressing the left and right C buttons at the same time then circle around the legs until Luke says cable out let her go

IIRC, my problem was that if you don't kill the first TIE bombers fast enough, the next enemy spawn and waypoint starts anyways while the first bombers are still active. I may be misremembering it, but I think that's what happens. So then I would go off to the new city location, with 1-2 bombers still destroying the original city. I would get engrossed with the AT-AT's, and then get a message that some building was destroyed by the leftover original bombers, and fail the mission. This pissed-off the 12yo Me to a great extent. In a game like this, where you're supposed to follow the way point to the active target, this seemed like a pretty shitty oversight.

@@1122markj Google "Rogue Squadron 3D" ;) And yeah the game was originally released to N64 and PC (the PC release had the "3D" in its name). For me it was a PC only game, I only recently discovered that there was an N64 version.

Pause the video at 0:16 and you can see at the bottom of the screen it says PRESS SPACEBAR FOR LEVEL DESCRIPTION OR ESC TO CANCEL. This is the PC version.
