Little fact about this game. It had a polygon count 4 times greater than what the GameCube was supposed to be limited to. Look at the Endor levels as an example. Or the mission where you fly an A Wing down the energy tunnels ( can't remember the name at the moment) but you'll probably know which one I'm referring to. It helps of course when you build the hardware to develop the game on. Factor 5 knew the GameCube inside out.

+Dalek Swartz Yeah he sorta does. It's almost too low a voice to impersonate Harrison Ford there, but the voice actor does a pretty good job anyway. One of the better Ford impersonators has to be the voice actor for Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. It was pretty close to Ford IMO.

killbot86 He was. The Endor generator doesn't generate an orbital shield for itself. The Hoth one does, and doesn't create its own ground level shield. So they have to ground attack. Maybe you need to learn to read, because I have no idea how you interpreted that as referencing Endor.

I really don't know what they were thinking with the ground missions in this game. It seemed so gimmicky and shallow, and you could tell that designing this kind of game was NOT Factoe 5's forte. Luckily, the rest of the game was great, and the multiplayer modes provided a surprising amount of entertainment!

I have some pretty mixed feelings about Rogue Squadron II & III. Rogue Leader was a fun game. Everything (especially Strike At the Core) looked and sounded fantastic, but I thought the replay value was nil. Once I got gold medals for all of the missions, I never felt the need to pick it up again. And as for Rebel Strike......God, it could take me a week to list all of the things that were wrong with that game. Playing through the previous Rogue Squadron in a cooperative mode was a BLAST, but I thought the story mode, with particular emphasis on the ground missions, were total shit. Not to mention that the objectives, even in the space portions, made little tactical sense. Take the above mission: Hoth has been completely overrun by an Imperial battle fleet many times the size of you and your allies, you're trying to flee the planet and escape...and yet you feel the need to take on an Imperial Star Destroyer before going to lightspeed?? "Sir, the odds of surviving a direct assault on an Imperial Star Destroyer-" Well, you get the idea. Furthermore, (and this is really just my personal pet peeve) the ships in both titles didn't really FEEL like flying machines. They felt more like land vehicles with a spaceship skin. I thought that the yaw axis was too pronounced and they should have behaved more like an aircraft. Now obviously in the vacuum of space it would make little to no difference whether a fighter craft used yaw or roll to maneuver, but in an atmosphere they would rely much more on the passage of air around the ship to move them around. TL;DR - Too much arcade and not enough simulation.

+Void304 Actually,according to the game's official Documentary, Factor 5 made the Rogue Squadron games arcade-like for a reason. They were inspired by the old Atari Star Wars arcade games, so obviously the games are mean't to be arcade-y instead of a simulator like X-Wing.

+Tyler Morelock I remember the one you're talking about, I think. You unlocked it in Rogue Leader, right? A relatively short video detailing how they built the game as well as the inspiration for it? I think you could even unlock the old arcade games themselves in Rebel Strike. In the Imperial hangar, if I'm not mistaken. And, yeah, I understand that Factor 5 was paying homage and all (I'm actually old enough to remember the arcade games they're talking about), but I think a little more depth couldn't have done any harm. Personally, I'd love it if someone tried a game like this again. It's a part of (classic) STAR WARS that I've always believed has not received enough attention.

I like this game and rogue squadron 2 a lot better because they remind me of the 1998 star wars trilogy arcade game, except the rogue squadron games have missions, more things to it like how movies, how you would play lego star wars, except this is not lego. I have star wars battle front 1 & 2 and Lego star wars 2 the original trilogy for ps2, but I like these rogue squadron 2 & 3 better. But don't get me wrong, I like battle front 1 & 2 and Lego star wars. I hope one day get a game cube from disc replay so I can play them. I don't why they didn't put rogue squadron 2 & 3 ps2.

+AxelGaming This game can't be emulated without some serious graphical glitches and stuttering, especially early in the game before Dolphin builds the shader cache. Console is really the only way you can play it unless you have an extremely powerful pc and even then, it's got issues.

+Emanuel Gochez Perhaps your disc is scratched? Try polishing it; there are special cloths for this purpose! But there is another, rather odd method. I don't know how, but it often worked for me: Thoroughly rub the recording side of the disc with dish soap, rub it a bit more with your thumb and then put it in the freezer for some hours. After that wash off the dish soap with warm (but not hot!) water. Carefully dry it with a paper towel and it should be readable again. That works for CDs and DVDs as well!

I found this game to be a disappointment as a follow up to Rogue Leader. the new flight missions were too short, and the on foot segments were crap and completely at odds with the point of the series.
