When Star Wars Total War releases and gives you the power to change the outcome of the Clone Wars.

You can't. The Clone Wars was a big game of chess being played by a single nerd with himself. Game was rigged from the start.
@fotppd14758 ай бұрын
@@atlantiswolf Dooku and Palpatine where playing against one another in this chess game. Dooku apprentices where meant to be used to get rid of Sidious and he attempted to even sway Kenobi against him by even going so far as to tell him the truth. Palpatine also control over the day to day affairs of the CIS and its military where limited at best. (he was not the inventor of ANY of the separatists many technological marvels, nor could he ever hope to rally the hearts and minds of anything more than selfish inner rim governments.) The game was far from set in stone, not to mention the many times it almost failed due to the plans exposure, or because the clones needed the Jedi suicidal and stupid tactics to win most major battles. Sheer luck gave Sidious victory after the Clone wars. In a rematch however, well lets just say the Republic will need to change chancellor in order to sign the unconditional surrender treaty after I am done with the old man.

@@fotppd1475 You are actually wrong about a lot here. Palpatine and Dooku were collaborating quite extensively. If Dooku wanted to turn Kenobi against Palpatine do you know what he would have done? Said that the Sith Lord was Palpatine instead of being vague about it. They were working so closely together that Dooku brought the Death Star plans to Palpatine on Coruscant, something he told Poggle the Lesser he was going to do. Dooku was in fact, shocked that Palpatine told Anakin to kill him in Episode 3. Palpatine was also familiar enough with the Separatist leadership that they trusted him with providing a safehouse for them near the end of the war, which would ultimately prove their downfall as he sent Vader to kill them. Nute Gunray specifically had a long standing relationship with Palpatine, going back over a decade to before the start of Episode 1 even. Lost can go wrong during a war, but Palpatine was in control of a lot of the proceedings. Its fair to say that the war very much went according to his designs, and that the various actors were all puppets performing in his play. The ultimate tragedy of the Clone Wars isn't the destruction or loss of life, its that the personal victories, or defeats of the people on the ground were ultimately meaningless because the outcome was all but determined from before the first shots were fired.

@@atlantiswolf The only reason Dooku was shocked when Palpatin told Anakin to kill him is because he knew he was serious. Dooku knew this would happen eventually had he failed to get rid of his master, what he did not know is that skywalker would manage to defeat him. Also there is no way Palpatin could knew how the war would turn out since not only was it not one sided in the Republic's favour but in fact would see almost every single major battle be a CIS victory had there not be any lucky jedi, gungans or even CHILDREN. You cannot say that Palpatin foresaw the actions of every individual in the galaxy. As for his manipulation of the Separatist council, I do not remember him really managing any stratigic decision during the clone wars, instead only doing things every now and then to start the war, keep the war going, and just place them all in one place when he no longer needed them. He played no more major role to battles any more than sending the clones and navies to fight and/or die. And if almost a handful of major battles where republic defeats he would lose the war and Dooku would be the one to say "DEW ET".

@@fotppd1475 He didn't need to run the day to day affairs of the separatists, he had proxies like Dooku for that. But he was still familiar enough to them that when Dooku was killed, he had to allay the fears of the rest of the leadership. Also think for a moment. The war was stacked so heavily against the Republic but the Separatists lost battles anyway. Why would that might have been? Maybe because Palpatine and Dooku were manipulating events behind the scenes to generate preferred outcomes? In legends at least, it was outright stated that this was the case. Also if Dooku wanted to kill his master, maybe he should have done that instead of just holding him in a not throne room on the Invisible Hand? This isn't even a theory or like, subtext in the movies. This is just, The Text. The story of the prequels is literally about the engineered collapse of a democracy into a totalitarian dictatorship by the corrupting forces eating away at it from the inside. That was literally, the whole point of the movies.
