Facts, order 66 always bring in emotion. Just the hope that the clones won’t do it, the sadness of some great characters like Plo dying, Anakin (who is my favourite character) the hero of the galaxy then to the dark side it’s just sad. Also Anakin turning against Obi Wan and Padme, the duels are peak Star Wars it’s just insane

watching Episode 3 after The Clone Wars is like a whole new experience, I love how the final arc in season 7 literally takes place DURING Revenge of the Sith so you can see what Ahsoka and everyone were up to during that time. Love The Clone Wars, love ROTS, love everything about them.

Fr. Watching ROTS before TCW, I was like "wait, why are the clones fighting the Jedi? Huh?", And then after TCW it makes so much more sense! Dave filoni and George Lucas absolutely blew that show out of the park. Took a cringey, kiddy show into an amazing representation of the star wars universe (prob 2nd to Andor, but andor's representation is a little bit different, with it being a more down to earth take of it, while TCW is purely on main and side characters). George Lucas has made an absolutely amazing trilogy of movies, and shows....along with all of the thousands of actors too, and directors, writers, character designers ect.

Clone Wars is just pinnacle star wars. After watching the whole show and all the prequels, that last scene with Vader in the snow is just perfect. It’s heavy and really emphasizes the tragic turn anakin makes along with the downfall of the jedi. Really powerful stuff and the show leaves you to ponder it.

tbh, its only really a minority of the episodes being noteworthy. Like, there were few episodes before season 4 that were that good, and even the best season still has filler. But the highs of the show are very good, like the ending.

I don’t think depressed Luke was a bad idea, but I think why so many people were turned off from it was that we never got to see why. The sequels told us instead of showing us. Luke was pretty much absent in episode 7 and the only story about him was told through Han Solo. If we saw more of Luke’s and Kylo’s interactions before Kylo turned evil and more on how Luke felt when he was betrayed, I think depressed Luke could have worked. But they way it was portrayed in the films, it’s no wonder why people didn’t like this. Pretty respectable ranking, I also have Clone Wars at #1, lol

The real Luke wouldn’t had giving up easily like that the fallen hero trope doesn’t fit him at all. We already have fallen hero which is Anakin who became darth vader plus they made the whole find the map and all the deaths for it pointless making him a depressed was stupid they could had him took his surviving students to a hidden Jedi temple in a secret planet to continue there training so it could make finding the map worth it.

Rebels is severly underrated. Sure, most of s1 and s2 were a bit immature, but the s2 intro and finale are peak star wars. And s3 and especially s4 rly build up the tension to their finales in fun ways. Thrawn is just an outstanding antagonist imo

Last Jedi saved Luke Skywalker from being boring protagonist who just need to swing green bat to destroy first order, they gave him broken soul, remeber that he was never a TRUE hero, Vader was by killing palpatine saving luke's life, what he did it is he just saved his father. I personally love this interpretation, it is much more human to me than OPAF Luke from Legends that most of the fans would like to see

The Clone Wars was actual perfection. I grew up watching it, and I was never super into Star Wars. But the Clone Wars hit me in a different way. The characters are so well fleshed-out, even the clones, younglings, Padawans, and of course the main crew. Anakin and Obi-Wan’s brotherhood makes ROTS that much more depressing, and Anakin in particular is super likable and relatable for most of TCW to the extent where you question the Jedi Order more than his decisions. Ahsoka’s bond with Anakin was done so perfectly, and her character is universally loved, something I bet no one would’ve predicted in the intro movie. Maul and Savage were done perfectly; every episode that featured them was an absolute masterpiece. And most importantly, Clone Wars amplified ROTS. Watching everyone you were introduced to and grew to love meet their horrific fates in ROTS was far more heartbreaking than it was on release.

Except for Savage becoming so powerful, so insanely fast. Even with the magic, he easily uses the force and kills a Jedi on what amounts to day 1. It was odd that they made him appear invincible at first, only to get his ass kicked by Maul and Dooku, but then be much tougher against Jedi who'd typically best Maul. Savage wasn't handled the best, imo.

When I first saw both episode IV and V, they just didn't truly wow me. I liked it, but I didn't get truly invested into the universe (I saw them when I was about 12 in 1997). Then I watched Return of the Jedi - and it truly felt like a fantasy epic - starting with a castle in the distance on a barren sandy planet, ending with the great big epilogue that affects not only just a bunch of people in space, but a ground crew too. It will always be my favourite.

I agree on many things, but Rogue One is the for the best movie of all of them. In a certain way you get to understand how did the events of episode 4 happened and how did the rebellion was build. And for real, the show Obi-Wan Kenobi is overhated as much as Solo, i understand the show was lazy slow, but it gave us some good stuff, far from excellent yes but not useless. And just to say, remember in episode 4 when Vader and Kenobi fight ? In the beginning of it Vader says "Last time we saw each other, i was the apprentice and you were the master", well that voice line is technically wrong because of the this show. So imma say the show did this voice line wrong, i don't know how they messed it up.

Episode II should have been 3 hours long. Its underrated and just needed more so people could care about and understand the war better. I think If we see some of the Jedi who are shown getting killed during order 66 in Ep 3 on mission during the clone wars would have been a great help. They were basically dropped in there to die. @@thatstarwarsdude I would put Revenge of the Sith because it is the conclusion of the prequel trilogy. I love how is shows Palpatine's manipulation finally work on Anakin by using his love for Padmé as an advantage, it expands more on the worldbuilding including planets such as Mustafar, Kashyyyk, Utapau and Felucia with also showing parts of the Clone Wars. I don't even have to talk about the fight scenes because they were very good, when talking the dialogue, it is very good and I am not going to say that it was "better than the other two movies" because the viewers weren't thinking of the context. An example of this is the sand scene and the other moments with characters like Anakin and Padmé. To that, I will say that it was suppose to be awkward. There was a ten year time gap and both were in a position where they had no time to give in to their emotions and to add on for Anakin, during those ten years, he was fantasizing over Padmé, but couldn't give in because of the methods the jedi do. Back to ROTS, I like how the jedi are suspicious of Palpatine and get Anakin to spy on him because of their "friendship" with this ending up with after Palpatine telling Anakin with him telling Mace Windu. Leading to what is expected. That showed that the jedi were right and in Episode with Yoda saying; "The Dark Side clouds my visions" to be solved. Also, I would like to say that the film did a great job along with the previous two with connecting them with the Saga. When talking criticism, you could say that maybe the ending was a little rushed but in its defense, Originally and if you can't tell by some of its deleted scenes, ROTS was going to be much longer but then it would be too long. This meant that George had to cut some scenes out and some of them had characters like Padmé, Organa and I think Mon Mothma where Organa brings up the creation of the Rebellion and there were also a scene with Anakin behind Palpatine in his office with other people there. I believe this is related to when Palpatine said to Anakin that he wanted him as a representative for the Jedi Council for the senate. Honestly, I want to say that the clone wars is pretty overrated. This can also be said for Episode five but I will talk about Clone Wars. This won't be the most perfect reason to the issues. Characters (Just to go over some briefly): Anakin isn't that accurate to prequel Anakin and felt like it was made to appeal for Prequel Haters and by that I mean guys like Plinkett. Ashoka is a walking retcon that has no importance to the films and after that and for example for shows like Dave Filoni's Tales of the Jedi, she was crammed into Padmé's funeral. Also, before Rey she was definitely a Marry Sue with how she was able to survive characters like Grievous and Ventress, who were definitely more experienced. Grievous is just pathetic and yes, he was how he was in ROTS and George did want him like that but in the 2003 Clone Wars TV show, they do to me clearly explain why with Mace Windu with the force crushing his containers where his organs are and showing in his introduction before that, he was a major threat. Here, they could have done something similar to that and not what we got because unlike ROTS, he fought tow Jedi in the episode where Kit Fisto and Nahdarr Veb find his lair. Next, Bo-Katan where she changes her morals after Maul's takeover of Mandalore was so rushed and were expected to roll along with it. Considering when Pre Vizsla was alive and in charge of the Deathwatch and even if she didn't physically do it, but was associated with it slapped Ashoka's ass with her being a minor and also took part in burning down an innocent village. With her change of morals, Dave and Friends should have spent more time on it and as an example could get her to reflect on what she did and then use them as a reason to be a better person. My final Character I will discuss will be Ventress. She was definitely made to be an antagonist that would show up again and before being betrayed, she was one of those not fully accurate but I hope you understand; "I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME GADGET" types, who just fail, and fail, and fail and fail again villains and apart of that episode where Ashoka and Luminara Unduli fight her and Ventress is to rescue Vice Roy from captivity was her only W. Her times as a bounty hunter I don't see any issues with tbh. Finally and to also give credit, this shows original character's Hondo Ohnaka and Cad Bane are ones that I do like. Episodes: Tbh, some of the episodes are pretty much ENEMIES HAVE A PLAN, GOOD GUYS STOP IT. There are a good majority of these and to be honest and I might be over-exaggerating, you would expect the Republic to win the war already. Yes, some don't have the protagonists but not all of them. RETCONS: I could go on all day so I will be as brief as I can and the examples here are a mix of big and not as big retcons: Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting Dooku multiple times because in ROTS, Anakin says to Dooku; "MY powers have doubled twice since the last time we met count", Obi-Wan fighting Grievous multiple times before ROTS because in ROTS, Grievous says this to Obi-Wan that shows that it was their first fight; "I have been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku". I already talked about Ashoka, the inhibitor chips with the clones that makes them act on order 66 and honestly, to an extent, I wouldn't have the clones self-aware in the context of characters like Rex questioning the war because in AOTC when Obi-Wan is talking with the Kaminoan. She said they "Take orders without question" and also in ROTS when Plapatine says to Cody "The time has come", it shows that the clones were already aware of their huge betrayal. Retconning Eeth Koth's death because he originally died in the Battle of Geonosis. Finally, BRINGING BACK MAUL!! Maul coming back was ridiculous and him surviving his injury by "the power his hatred". In The Phantom Menace, Maul served his purpose with how he was just another pawn and foreshadow for Darth Vader who was made by George to be a tragic character, who represented Vader's skills and how intimidating he was. I also don't agree when people say that they should have had a recurring rivalry with each other and to add on to how he served his purpose, the High Ground scene in ROTS is a thing because of Obi-Wan was in the position Anakin was in Similar to him in PM. This showed to expand Obi-Wan and shows that he learns from what he experienced and he goes to show that in the mentioned scene. That is it for my essay-long comment. ROTS is definitely my favourite movie of all time and if I did this list all by opinion it would have been #1 but as you said the hate for this movie by “fans” was so much. The clone wars is has so much support by fans so I had to place it at one. Everything You said was on point and I never really thought that Anakin and Padme was supposed to be awkward. I’m not gonna debate your list (although I mostly agree with it), but I do wanna point out that the visual effects in A New Hope were the product of John Dykstra & his team at ILM. George Lucas didn’t invent the technology personally. There’s a really great documentary on Disney+ that goes into the behind-the-scenes details called Light & Magic, which you’ll find in the Star Wars menu. But it doesn’t take anything away from Lucas because he was still the guy who had the vision to hire those guys and finance their work.

Yeah, when the list got to Rebels, I thought WTF? Rebels is automatic top 5 for me. Every character had an origin story that we got to see and stories that revolved around them. We got to see Kanan become the Jedi that they were supposed to be, not what we saw in the prequels. Ezra's growth and the ending with Thrawn. A good look into the Dark Saber. Chopper is hysterical. Some Hondo comic relief never hurts. More Maul and his...oddly quick showdown with Kenobi. I'd argue it's on par with, if not better than, Clone Wars (simply because Clone Wars did have quite a few filler episodes).
