Your last comment about SW needing a multiplayer game, perhaps in the vein of GTA V and No Man's Sky... well, they *had* a game like that: Star Wars Galaxies. I'd say an update/reboot, even if it was a hard-capped shard-server experience (such as 100 - 250 players per shard), might be great, but then I remember it would likely be inexplicably shelved, or handed off to a studio that wouldn't understand or know what to do with it, and I shake my head. Pipe dream, sad, but true. Still, one can hope in a future far, far, far away, something like this might make a reappearance, and be released in a (lets be honest) playable state. I've enjoyed my time with SW, from watching ep IV at a drive in when I was five years old, to wincing anticipation of The Acolyte. Enjoyed your video! One of the numerous problems with TLJ that isn't often mention is how it starts immediately after episode 7. It should have taken place 2-3 years after TFA and allowed other media to fill in the gap and fix whatever problems were going to end up being part of the story

Im more confused how the latest triology was so very very head spinner , because it felt like in the new triology movie the new republic was overthrown again because hux mentioned the republic is no more(which doesnt makes sense) and Rey called the resistance(which was supposed to be somekind of special force for imperial remnant ) the rebellion like it was post clone wars. basing on Ahsoka Tano's age on clone wars, Rebels and Ahsoka and basing it on Luke's age, Ahsoka would be so old when the new Triology's timeline happened so yes its possible the new republic was overthrown again.

I’m of two minds when it comes to Modern Day Star Wars content. On the one hand if given to good creators and people who genuinely love the original source material. You can get fantastic new movies or shows. That even the most die hard George Lucas Star Wars fanatics can’t deny their inherent quality. On the other hand you can get content that you can tell. Was made with very little effort as possible. Or just can’t connect with audiences in general. Plus I use the word content for a reason. Because Disney will pump out whatever they think could possibly get some traction. With the Star Wars fandom as it is. When you movies or TV shows that clearly don’t have a lot of effort (money or any quality control) put into it. The worst modern day Star Wars movies and shows make the worst parts of the Lucas era of Star Wars. Look way better in comparison.

First off: Congratulations on this Video. It's very well made. I enjoyed it and agreed with most of it. Solo is where I take exception. Han was made out to be weak. He had to be saved by a strong female Girl-Boss at almost every turn. LG was a terrible character, but the freckled face Girl-boss in the body armor was just a flat out insult to the audience. Lando was a Ladies-Man. He was: strong, smart, handsome, a leader. who took risk only when he had too, and paid attention to details. Lando was made out to be a degenerate Pan-Sexual having sex with the machine droid LG. Kathleen Kennedy destroys ALL strong males and replaces them with stronger women. Luke & Rey are 2 perfect examples of this.

Just found your channel, appreciate a lot of your takes. Hope you're working on a Kenobi review, I personally enjoyed most of it. My biggest gripe is the pacing and the inquisitors. When we finally get the best scenes of Kenobi vs Vader, they keep cutting to the third sister, who's backstory was revealed far too late for me to care about her. We all knew Luke would be fine... Also cheers, I loved Solo, just a fun movie and Alden nailed Han's mannerisms. Donald and Woody were fantastic too.

TCW Season 7 is mostly mediocre and even the Siege of Mandalore arc has plenty of issues people ignore. Rogue One is serviceable at best, forgettable at worst. All that's left are Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor, the first being an okay Souls-like game, the second having better gameplay, but the story is ripe with issues like dragging the High Republic trash into the picture.

She is incredibly inconsistent and has rushed development when she somehow starts to believe in the rebel cause after they were the ones that literally killed her father. There really needs to be a bingo for the stereotypical Disney fanboy talk points at this point: "TFA was a decent start", "Ahsoka and Jyn are good written female leads", "Snoke and Kylo were the best characters of the sequels", "At least TLJ was visually good", "Dave Filoni has done a great job". Such a headache listening to all this bs every single time. TFA was a horrible start, full of unexplained elements, lazy retreading on old waters of Rebels vs Empire and disrespecting the OT heroes from the get go. Ahsoka has gotten almost as bad as Rey these days, she's Filoni's pet OC and he won't let go of her. Jyn is a nothingburger of a "character", completely forgettable. Snoke was a boring Palpatine stand-in at best, and Crylo was a laughing stock who they tried so hard to make us feel bad for him by making his family horrible on purpose, while having no agency as a villain. TLJ is still trash, the DCEU films have great cinematography, yet they're a dumpster fire for the most part. Filoni is an overrated fraud : he overwrites pre-existing canon with his inferior glorified fanfictions, his characters are inconsistent or get the pet OC treatment of surviving literally anything unscathed. The Mandalorian was mindnumbingly boring, then Season 2 was a Disney+ ad reel, and Season 3 was pathetic. Andor is an overrated and generic spy thriller on the same old Rebels vs Empire narrative with a bunch of disposable British stereotypes. TCW is the most overrated thing ever made, full of inconsistencies and retcons from either the movies or the pre-2008 Clone Wars timeline. And it has aged like milk in many ways. The Bad Batch is utterly tasteless and forgettable. Rebels is a mediocre kids show, once again ripe with retcons or plot convenience. This "defense" was hopeless before even starting......

I can complain about Disney Star Wars all day long (for days on end), but everyone working on that stuff is super talented, and all the stuff put out by Disney have all almost been masterpieces (except for Episode IX). Their blunders merit hours for criticisms, but Disney gets closer than you might think. They can do it. I like Solo, The Bad Batch, and The Mandalorian Season 1+2, and The Clone Wars Season 7 without any qualifiers. They can hit their targets. Also, would like to send some praise to Kathaleen Kennedy. She may be at fault for 2 or 3 really bad decisions, but she does not get enough praise for all the good decisions.

You know, maybe (just maybe) people wouldn'th ave such a problem with modern Star Wars, if they actually made some minimal effort to UNDERSTAND it. But nooo, no one did this. Nope, everyone was like "This isn't like the 1977 movie, therefore I absolutely must hate it, hurrr durrrr." What happened to having an open mind? What happened to evolving with the times (it's obviously not 1977 anymore)? The refusal to grow and change is what's making the fandom so toxic and hostile, not Disney. I definitely agree with you on the premise that if you go into any work or show or... anything really, consciously and objectively looking for something to hate you will find it. But I also feel like there are a number of things that are just objectively bad. The modern Star Wars has plenty of both. Ranging from new likable and fun characters to unlikable shells that value presenting a viewer with a list of pre-approved characteristics than any real character. So as much as I really do agree with you that making some silly umbrella comment like, "Big poppa Disney just dun ruined mah childhood again!" Is erroneous and acidic and usually indicative of someone who made up their mind long before scratching the surface of what something actually is, I also have to empathize with the fans who keep getting disappointed over and over and over. And the worst thing about being one of those fans is knowing that the things that are disappointing you could very well be brilliant if it were only run by someone who cared, who shared your passion about what is at the core of Star Wars. There certainly are those whackadoo fans who throw temper tantrums over stupid stuff but there is also a bigger pile of objectively bad storytelling than there ever should have been. And it seems like that pile is starting to get bigger than the stack of good stuff.

I am an old Star Wars, i have been one since 1977when i first watched a New Hope in the cinema. The prequel trilogy well it grow on me, i also enjoyed the animated Clonewars and Star Wars Rebels. The Force Awakens was fairly good, it could have been better, but then The Last Jedi was an emetic, they destroyed my youths hero Luke Skywalker. It was followed by The Rise of Skywalker an emetic combined with a laxative. I do not hate Daisy Ridley for her part in it, she did her best with an badly written character. Book of Boba Fett was not good, that Mando arc in the middle destroyed it. And Mando S3 it was perhaps both good and bad, my thought on the Mando part in Bok of Boba Fett and the Courasont part in Mando S3 was because Jon Favreau had to rewrite it all in a hurry to get elements of Rangers of The New Republic in in order to explain certain points. The Bad Batch redeems much it is good. I enjoy Tales of the Jedi too.

I agree that Disney definitely rejuvenated Star Wars and I am happy that we are getting so much Star Wars content lately. Just wish all of it was good :(

Remembering the best parts of modern Star Wars made me think about this: there's not much *bad* stuff happened, after disney bought Star Wars, as "fans" try to make it look: Rogue One - brilliant Andor - brilliant Jedi: Series - brilliant Mandalorian - really good, third season downplays on the overall rating for being too random and anticlimactic, which remined me of tlj, but still. The Bad Batch - really good, I don't go calling episodes I don't love "filler" since everything still makes it's way to impact later, but yeah, there are a few episodes I fell asleep on. Visions - good, fresh and wild view on old universe under new lenses. Solo - good Rebels - good Battlefront 2 campaign - ok Squadrons - ok Boba - had some hiccups, weird moments in choreography and story, and definitely pacing problems, but actually ok. People who call him "weak and soft" because he doesn't kill everyone left and right for smallest inconvenience are really missing the point of his character arc, and tbh I understand why: if they paced it chronologically rather then in flashbacks (they failed to copy Fallen Order where flashbacks works, here they are random af) - it would've been a much cleaner story. Kenobi - same issues as Boba, too muck accent on Reva, also should've been a movie, but if you extract pure Kenobi story from it - it's actually ok. Same as Boba I understand why and how his character changed. You can't be a positive and sarcastic stoic icon when you hide like a rat in the middle of nowhere, cut from the world, hunted by memories of your own failure, and constantly brainwashed by imperial propaganda. Also story took too much from Fallen Order, and didn't made it better, rather opposite. Resistance - not my cup of tea, show about nothing in general. Young Jedi - I'm too old for this stuff Episode 7 - good start of a trilogy, interesting characters, a bit too much of "a new hope", but tbh so was the episode 1 Episode 8 - hellhole Episode 9 - failed at recovering after a shitshtorm that episode 8 was.

ugggg God that Battlefront Collection hype hurts after what happened. I swear this franchise is cursed somehow. A lot of the points in this video are well made though. A major problem I've seen is Disney just making too much at once, as they tend to do with other franchises they have. Fatigue is a real thing, and I hope they realize that now.

There are some solid stories in Disney's Canon such as the Mandalorian but my biggest problem with it and the casuals who calls themselves "Star Wars Fans", is that it's referred to as 'Star Wars" in the first place. ANYTHING that isn't made by George Lucas and is connected to Disney's nuclear dumpster fire Fanfic abominations is NOT Star Wars, It's Disney Wars. Just because something's Disney Wars, doesn't mean it's inherently bad. It's just when it's referred to as 'Star Wars", it pisses off us actual Star Wars Fans.

The original trilogy was the best Prequels were the worst(fucking sue me) And the sequels are in the middle, Rise of Skywalker being the worst. I genuinely think Force Awakens was fine. I really like that movie, and it has a lot more going on for it than any of the prequels do.

There is no hope for SW under Disney. I don't like anything Disney did with SW. Clone Wars was ok. Mandalorian is boring story of a man, who talks with a toy. All new movies is bad or worse. The only good scene in Rogue One was Vader scene, and it made Episode 4 first act a joke. Book of Boba Fett - trash. Ahsoka is just atrocious. The last SW thing I enjoyed was SWTOR

@brandonchauinfo It was never meant to be serious enough for grown men to cry about it. The OT is held in high regard because most of us saw it young and remember that youthful excitement. Not because it was a masterpiece in acting and storytelling (it wasn't).

After the horrible sequels I've had absolutely no interest in getting disney plus so I've only ever watched some of the movies. When the Andor seasons are complete I might try and watch that if I can without getting disney plus.. The rest of the shows sound like fecquels garbage. I might be interested in High Republic or Dawn of the Jedi stories if they are done well and don't wreck established lore. Anything by disney that supports the fecquels or occurs after Return of the Jedi isn't cannon to me and is absolutely not worth watching. With Star Wars failing I'm more interested in Dune or Warhammer 40K. Even Star Trek seems better than Star Wars to be honest.
