Wishing Simon a Merry Christmas. Thank you for sharing your precious holiday hours with your viewers from around the world, who may or may not have the traditional family/friends to huddle around mistletoe-decorated yue log fireplaces on X'mas eve. This show and dedicated YT reactors like Simon are the light that kindle the fire in our hearts in cold & dark corners of the world. Cheers!

Jod literally quoted Qui-gon when he talked about shaping your reality.
@sutairs4 күн бұрын
Jod may have ran off or kicked out as a padawan. He's not evil nor good, he just wants to use the Force for fun/treasure hunting. Which places him in a gray area between a Jedi and a Sith. (maybe lol)

This is a show about kids, but it isn't a kids show. Star Wars is best when it appeals to the whole family.

I love how we are seeing that even though the kids are on this big adventure but also they are starting to feel the galaxy reality it's not all calm like at attin. Merry Christmas all may the force be with u.

I agree with the general assessment you have made. Is this Rogue One? No. Is it fun and entertaining? Yes, it is! --- The overt pirateness of the whole thing has been taken to silly levels, but it's basically the same as the Mandalorian episode "The Marshall". An extremely amusing parody of an old western movie. "We don't get many strangers in these parts." 😅 And it was one of the Mandalorian's best episodes, imo. In the final analysis, it's delightful and entertaining. Can't wait till next Tuesday!

Everyday I'm suspecting Jod to be one of those Force sensitive kids who never got brought to the jedi temple for training and he's just been using the force freely... This would be a very interesting way to introduce another view of the force. He may have heard or learned about the Jedi and the Sith. We will know for sure if he got any training or not by seeing how he will be using the lightsaber... also if he are a light or dark side his words are jedi but he did say he was not a Jedi... so maybe sith or just nothing at all... just a guy with force powers

What about Jod's speech on attachments in this episode? Seems like fragments of the Jedi training...

Happy Christmas, Simon! ❄️🎄🎁 I love the execution of this show! And you're right. The humour was perfectly balanced in humour and dark "piratey" adventure. Definitely has the formula of a big 1980s/1990s kids movie. And the kids act like kids - curious, obnoxious, silly, naive, emotional. And Jude Law's character is the perfect character to counterbalance them. And we still don't know who he is! Just someone with Force powers who is a scoundrel. Oh, and I love the pirate traps! Probably my favourite episode! Very fun!!

I think this show learns into cheesey moments cause the Disney haters will supply all the whine. Not just a pleasure spa, an adults only pleasure spa. Edit: oh, yeah. Fun fact: the Scottish bounty hunter? Same actress as Merida in Brave. Making her the second proper Disney Princess to appear in Star Wars.

Cthulhu Scallops.🤭 It's definitely a family film. Back in the 70's, when the original SW film was released, I was in 4th grade, and knew 3rd graders who had seen the original film in theater, and had action figures, so definitely 7-8yo are watching this, and if they don't scare easily, or have nightmares, younger. Merry Xmas.

Maybe the captain had a second droid, which he sent out to get the treasure ready for pick up. And the droid ended up as the supervisor

You can see Mando showing up in there world really more so then like Boba Fett and fit cause Mando could be a bad person without never meeting Grogu to change him and he is an agent for the new republic and he can handle a person like a pirate with Gorgu help

Star Wars just need good writing, directing and editing. The Star Wars Universe will work then for itself

Funny, this episode answered a question i had: what if the pirates harbour, Port Borgo (?) is not the same after several hundreds of years? Places can or should change over time. But why did Rennod destroy everything, kill his whole crew and bury his ship? Does this make any sense? I got the impression that Skeleton Crew is the better Star Trek nowadays: a group of different characters building a team, facing moral questions. 🖖

Merry Christmas. I'm leaning towards the pirate captain being Geoffery Rush. It certainly sounds like him, and Disney would most likely be able to get him for another franchise. I don't think the hologram voice was credited in the episode.

Despite this episode finally revealing At Attin is a Republic Mint world, it's been pretty obvious since the first episode that this was the direction they were heading. The classroom scene basically told us everything we needed to know about how this society views finance, it felt like if the Stock Market had it's own planet. They've just been adding pieces to that up to the reveal here. I wasn't sure if it would be a Mint or a Vault or whatever, but I was on the money, pun intended. Jod's line about "attachments" got me worried. I was realllllly hoping he was just going to be a self taught guy who learned the Force on his own, no bullshit former Padawan or Order 66 survivor story. I guess we'll find out when he inevitably uses the lightsaber in one of the following episodes, or from some later exposition. That giant alien cthulu thing reminds me of something from Dr. Seuss or Wilford Brimley. The way I interpret Jod invoking the Code to challenge the position of Captain is that he wanted to secure his end game legitimately. On one hand we have pirate droid SM33 and his programming, on the other he's finally got all the pieces to the puzzle and isn't going to let a few preteens dictate his actions moving forward. On the third hand he could also really believe in the pirate's Code or whatever, in any event he clearly did not want to hurt the kids. He even said so directly to Fern, the duel felt more like a formality than anything. Something that was necessary for him to do. I don't think Captain whatever's hologram being distorted is an indicator of some reveal on his identity. I think it more implies that the footage has degraded with time, considering other bits of knowledge we get in this episode like how the hideout is a commercial location now. It's meant to convey how long it's been since the Onyx Cinder went missing. Before this episode I figured the ship crashed like ~100-200 years in the past, now I think it's been way longer. Same goes for how long At Attin's been hidden, I revised my guess to idfk maybe thousands of years. Man, none of the cats I've ever owned liked to use those tower things, or scratching posts. Hell my current cat doesn't even use a litter box, so that's pretty cool. On the other hand, she loves to steal certain chairs when people get up. Merry Christmas dude.

Ah well Zuko hates catnip and a lot of traditional cat treats too, all cats are just weird in their own way!

@SimonTalksStarWars Well shit, you got me there. Can't argue with that one. But I would have liked to know your thoughts at least. My cat is a treat whore, shes always begging for treats. She's a tortoiseshell that ran away from her owners when they moved down the street like six years ago. There's certainly a strong personality with this one.

There are no cheesy ideas here. It is a really great show. Star Wars has always been a kids' show. What George Lucas said.
