I grew up with Star Wars, and for years it's been my favorite Sci-Fi franchise. In less than 10 years Disney managed to ruin all of that, and the only joy left with this Franchise is the Schadenfreude from seeing it all burn down. ... Well, at least i still got Warhammer 40k, surely that won't be next on the chopping block.

Did you ever hear the story of Darth Lucas the Bearded? I thought not. It's not a story Disney would tell you. It's a Hollywood legend. Darth Lucas was a blockbuster director. So talented and so creative, that he created the greatest franchise ever made. He had such a knowledge of filmmaking, it was like poetry, it rhymed. But the dark side of the movie business is a pathway to many sequels some consider to be... unnatural. He became so rich and famous, he got bored, and handed over his empire to the girl who made his coffee. Unfortunately, his apprentice learned nothing about his franchise. She then killed it while he went to Starbucks. Ironic. He could tell the greatest science fiction story of all time, but couldn't get Iger to look at his treatments.

Except StarWars really isn’t sci-fi. It’s fantasy set in space. That’s why Star Trek and StarWars fans have never gotten along. I’ll explain how you tell the difference. Where’s them talking about and highlighting all the amazing technology in StarWars? They don’t. It’s glossed over completely. Here’s a blaster. What’s it do and how does it work? It’s just a gun really. Then watch Star Trek. They explain what everything does. It’s worked into the story when ever someone visits the ship for the first time. Edit: That by no means reduces StarWars or it’s success. It’s still great and beloved. Well, the original anyway.
