Based on other events from the High Republic, either they'll defeat the Sith character and cover up the story so nobody knows, or the Sith will kill the witnesses. By Phantom Menace, the Jedi have their heads well burried in the sand. The Sith were always there, and just because the Jedi didn't know about them doesn't mean no Jedi has encountered one in all that time.

This feels like one of those shows that is a gamble. I am sceptical at the moment as the trailer didn't make me leap in joy an excitement, more of a quiet contemplation. I personally just want them to stay grounded (only way I can think of describing it) and stay true to Star Wars' lore and fundamentals; and most importantly, to the story. Stay on topic! Unfortunately in previous shows they have not done this and gone off on too many tangents which just made the storyline confusing and messy. Anyway enough said, I very much agree with your points and I hope this show is a success. One step closer to the Old Republic.

In regards to the Sith, they SAY the Sith were extinct and long gone but we know that's not true. The ancient wars with them and the Jedi stopped. The Sith simply went into hiding in the shadows, than later the Jedi would end up going into hiding and the Sith would think the Jedi were all gone lol. Back to Lucas's everything rhymes or whatever he says lol.

7:50 That quote is misleading, it's meant to show us the arrogance of the Jedi Counsel, think about it. They believe a millennia yet Maul is alive and well, his master Sideous is at his most powerful and influential. Before that Palpatine had a master and so on, the Sith as far as we know did not die out then poof they exist. The Jedi grew blind in their arrogance and allowed the Sith to live.

The issue I have is the fight choreography is very Marvel with the grapples and power displays, especially the trailer music felt very Marvel and not the sweeping and subtle cinematic orchestral of traditional Star Wars. Star Wars has always had this old Samurai film/swashbuckler style choreography that's very distinctive and visually reflects the Asian philosophical and institutional influences within the Star Wars cultures that's very interesting, and I think the Disney post sequel era fight choreography has sort of lost that style in place of the less interesting grapple styles of Marvel films. Would have loved for them to delve more into showcasing the High Republic as a Renaissance era of technological advancement and exploration like in the books. Hope it's good, 50/50 at this point. Would much rather prefer a high quality animated series like Bad Batch, Rebels, or Clone Wars as Disney is more suited to doing animation than live action, and you can do more with animation than live action both in cost and visuals.

My guy. You have to understand, there is such things as new characters. They do, there really exist. I know for a fan like you it’s hard to understand. But they do exist. This is a mystery thriller. And I’m paraphrasing here “like Kill Bill meets Frozen”… we know it’s gonna be quite violent and we know there’s a sister to sister relationship at the center of the show. I imagine the knife lady at the beginning has turned evil, although she’s probably not the Sith who’s been liking Jedi. I doubt that. The identity of the Sith acolyte is probably the mystery we’re gonna be chasing the entire show. And we also have to understand that “The Acolyte” could not be a Sith, perhaps a Jedi who’s heard of the Dark-side and starts practicing it’s ways without a master. Although all eventually leading to the two siths at the time. Plagueis? Nah, he’d be like 15, perhaps his master, or the master of his master. But for a franchise to survive we need new characters. And I don’t mean something like the Bad Batch, they are new, but they are an extension of very popular ones… actual new characters in a completely new facet of the galaxy. Like the Mandalorian, at the time. Like the Phoenix crew. Like Andor, and like the cast of the Acolyte.

0:45 this time it's apparently run by a vocal star wars fan who reads the EU books / became the designated sw lore nerd in the writers' room, so I'm not worried about that compared to the other non-filoni shows. I am mostly worried about the cinematography from this trailer though unfortunately. It's got that flat lighting / cheap show look to it, like a disney parks ad or fan film even without the volume. Hopefully the story can make up for that

I think the main antagonist will be more like a cultist that follows the ways of the dark side, but isn’t necessarily sith. If there is any mention to plagueis or darth tenebrous, it will most likely be at the end of the series, with them possibly pulling the strings in the shadows. The main villain will most likely be a decoy in the story.

The premise of the show comes with a built-in plot hole, so I have little faith in it. They'll either kill everyone involved with these events, or ignore the plot hole entirely. So it comes with some level of built-in predictability, too. Yeah, very low expectations.

For me if they want to cover that plothole theyve created leading to the TPM then everyone that knows about these sith (if thats what they are)have to die so they cant carry the message,or theyre in fact not from the bane lineage of sith and they are another sect or following of darkside users that have tried to take up the sith mantle(pretenders as Plagueis called them).Im sure there were plenty of jedi that left the order or fell and perhaps started cults or other ordersin secret.But then also if all these jedi are being killed too and the jedi go to find out, it would have to be without clearance from the council.So i really dont know,As long as ive been a star wars fan theres been no fan theories for the shows that have ended up being true anyway.The plothole is rather vast if they decide that it is infact sith.Tenebrous would be alive and well working in the shadows too at this point but i doubt theyll make any sort of connection since none of the writes know star wars.

We know in the prequels that the Sith go undiscovered and unsighted for thousands of years, so whoever runs across the sith needs to die, and the sith should be following the rule of two, so I guess whoever these "sith" are is just rando dark side wielders, unless they screw it up. They are no-names who will probably die or vanish into obscurity, which leaves me wondering why make the show at all. I seriously doubt their capacity to write a good story.

They always come up with some loophole “oh that’s not my sith apprentice that’s my force sensitive assassin with a red lightsaber don’t worry” with both of the above and ventress, filoni’s inquisition and zahn’s Mara jade.
