Still my favorite figure all-time, nothing cooler than 2 guns, too bad he couldn't hold any of them. It was also the tallest figure in the old sets.

I was so happy I got the archive set because I drove 45 min to a collector shop a couple days later and found a dengar zuckuss and 4-lom at the shop and completed the set in a week for very cheap. Super happy since I started collecting 6 inches considerably late. Funny because I originally started following your channel because I loved your loot crate reviews, you’re hilarious. Now I’m also an avid black series follower keep up the good work man.

The articulation is really a big problem with this figure. I guess it's why we didn't see him move in ESB. Great vid Mike!

He’s also a lot shorter than he should be. If you look the picture of him with the rest of the bounty hunters, he’s standing on a lower step.

Hello! New to the channel. I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks for stepping up to an already crowded action figure review channels. I follow quite a few but not many of the ones I follow do black series figures. Watched a couple of your reviews and found them entertaining and it’s good to see that your not figure specific and actually review some of the lesser known Star Wars characters. I have a buddy that works at Target and got them last week. Love the packaging...the added paint to the figures is nice. Glad I got them early...have a feeling I’ll never see Boba Fett on pegs

Hi Mike, I never liked IG-88. I’ll buy it to complete my bounty hunter set though. TBH, I don’t know the backstory of IG-88. Bounty hunters are driven by money or prestige. I don’t see why a droid would need any of those things. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still shit my pants if he were coming after me. I’m not a fan of the blister pack. Boxes are easier to store, for me. I get Hasbro needs to switch up the packaging, but that could have been done with the classic box shape. Maybe, I’ll develop an appreciation for him after The Mandalorian. I can totally see him hiding amongst the machinery and sneaking up on his mark, like the creature from Alien.

if i remember right. IG-88 was all about proving he was sentient and had freewill, but i am very much looking forward to him being in the mandalorian and i wished i had mentioned that more in this video.

Place a little clear silicone on the base of the foot of the shorter leg and it should fix the problem when standing the figure.

just found these today at my toys r us here in canada...i only picked up boba fett as i sold off my black series a while back. i still found that the paint wasn't great in the elbows, eyes and even the dents on fett were painted to the side a bit. not sure how many of these ill end up getting...did you get the whole first wave??

After buying IG-11, I saw a vid and it showed double articulated knees, so I tried with both 11 and my original Black Series 88 and the knees on both are legit double jointed. You just gotta be delicate on moving the top knee part. After that it should bend without much trouble.

I got my Luke and Boba through BBTS, I got my IG and Bossk at Walmart last night. I am a big fan of the Archive Series. I am not as bad ass as you Mike, I didn’t get into Black Series until the Force Awakens wave and beyond. The upper part of the double jointed knee is very stubborn. It may be the paint or how it’s assembled. I got mine to move and it didn’t stress the wires/tube thingies. But it’s really just folding up the legs since there is no movement in the hips other than forwards a bit and back a bit. The elbows frustrate me most. If they moved up more you could get more personality out of the figure. I’m a sucker though. I bought it again. My original is actually ok. No loose joints other than both have looser ankles than I would like. Too bad no detents were designed there.

I have the same issue with the legs, but mine had the left leg shorter than the right. I didn't bother buying the archive one since I just bought a stand for the original one. Great vid!

So sorry it didn't live up to expectations Mike. I don't know, maybe some of the issues are that this figure is essentially a match stick on top of two pipe-cleaners? Looks ok, kinda essential if you like your bounty hunters. Not great for posing though.

Thanks for this! I was expecting so much more from these Archive figures. The only one I personally own is the Boba Fett Archive. It was the first Boba I have opened (I have the original release, SDCC and Prototype). I was underwhelmed with the lack of improvements they made (actually the only thing I could tell was the paint application had some slight variation to it). Also, from a collectors standpoint (to protect value), I was hoping Hasbro would at least update the year on the Archive figures (Boba Archive still has 2013 under his foot). Great review though! I think I’ll pick up IG-88 just to have a version that stands up a little better. Haha.

Yeah tbh I was expecting a bit more too, but maybe that’s my fault for having larger expectations than I should have had. In the end, it’s still a good thing they re-released these for people who missed out on them.

The three and three-quarter ig-88 assassin Droid figure from The Clone Wars line is awesome and much more articulate than this. I know it's not ig-88 per se, but pretty close. I wish they had changed the design a little for this ig-88 figure the way they simplified designs for characters in The Clone Wars. It wouldn't have been exactly movie accurate, but you'd get way more articulation from him. I'm going to put the little guy on the shoulders of this ig-88 and make them father and son robots. Wheeeeeee

I believe the issues with this figure all comes down to character design, it was never meant to be anything more than just a prop in the background in Empire Strikes Back. And I'm willing to throw Hasbro a bone and say this figure did what it supposed to do. It's hard to ask for the moon for a character like IG-88, thats why I was happy with what they improved to the Protocol droid body for 4-Lom
