Not going to rip into you, Snowtroopers aren't actually Snowtroopers. Their official imperial name is Cold Assault Stormtrooper. The hood on their mask is used to help them breathe easier, they have a built in heater in their suit, and their visors are meant to prevent glare from the white snow, so in reality they really should be Snowtroopers.

I have a few doubles of troopers, but they’re unique releases. For instance, the regular Stormtrooper has been released 3 times in 3 different types of packaging.

Range troopers are a particular kind of troopers used to escort important transports. They are very skilled and you may find them in other planets as well. So the heavy jacked is not something regular for their suite; A standard range trooper is exactly like that but without the heavy coat.

Also, the dimonsttation of that is in the fact that if being in the cold was a daily base for them they would have a similar style to the one of the snowtroopers, whose body stay hot because the suite has an electronic system on the inside. The range troopers need coats because that's just an improvised variation of their armor for a particular cold planet

You could class the classic Snowtrooper as being purely for cold assault blitzkrieg type situations. Commando style operations and they look very similar to the galactic marines. Range troopers are in for the long haul as an occupational force and are apparently assigned to range country.

The accessory count often reflects the amount of detail on the figure, or whether it's a repaint or repack. So this guy has fancy soft goods and weathering. My theory bro, but you know that. Nice review man.

The Time Machine, TARDIS, Delorean, Bill & Ted's Phonebooth, ??????, Hot Tub Time Machine OMG, the pimptrooper is awesome! I do love the soft-goods parka hood/scarf thing on the trooper. I think if Hasbro included all the accessories we wish for, it would jack up the price. It seems like they have a narrow budget to give them to a few figures, and that's it.

Mike Kaess I also love your inclusion of the original-release Ep. IV Han with his alternate hands as well as Anakin with his alternate head. Why didn't this become the trend?!? It adds so much value without increasing the production cost (I don't think...). Legends reuses hand casts all the time, why can't Hasbro do the same with the Black Series?

seems a lot of folk have little love for the boots. saw a custom where they'd replaced the legs at the knee with i guess snowtrooper legs, it just looks weird and out of proportion. i love the boots, but, i agree, the lack of weathering was a slight disappointment. ah, well, it's an easy 'fix' if you're so inclined....

Great review Mike, what a fab looking figure, I need to get around to opening mine at some point, just been a busy week for us. I like the helmet is a lot of fun on this by the looks of it. I have to say I cannot see fur being used in something futuristic for temperature control, I would expect some kind of technology based polymer that would have an armoured fabric more akin to kevlar and be more lightweight, so I see this as actually the fiction showing how these guys were less advanced than the hoth version which have better tech to manage the frozen environments.

Another great review mike!...Friday when the lady opened the case of black series solo for me at Wal-Mart I was sooo tempted to take both range troopers...especially at the $5 price I paid each for the whole wave...but I had my dewback...I had the whole wave at $5 each...and I even picked up the deluxe luke at target for only $15...so I left the extra solo and range trooper for another collector...its great to find deals...but its better to have character😀...anyways...I agree...this troopers bad ads and if I find a deal on another I will get one...I like to buy all the figs right away then army build at a deal price when the opportunities arise...and Ron howard has alreaxy proven hes an extreme rare talent...I will be shocked if he doesnt put out a masterpiece with the solo movie...I'm guessing people are going to love it and be shocked...and these solo figs will become hot items...maybe the hottest in years...then all the haters and fair weather collectirs will be crying because they never got them...Hasbro cut back production greatly with these coming waves...there wont be any peg warming clearance sales this time

K J for about the last month or so all walmarts have been clearing out black series ...some got lucky and scooped up new releases that weren't supposed to be $5...I think this is a case of over paid execs not knowing how to do things and inderpaid walmart laborers not caring lol...regardless pegs are clearing out finally lol

I think they have a specific production budget for each figure. This trooper has a lot of plastic plus the fur and seems like it would have a higher cost of production. Because of this, it has only 1 accessory. Thats just my guess though.
