The only reason he lost was because he underestimated the quarren betraying him who were his allies. He should never have told them his plan on ruling the planet until after the prince was dead. That was his only mistake everything else he won through his tactics and using his forces the most effective way.

Does anyone else feel like Grievous was originally going to be the villain of this arc? I mean, Tamson just seems to be incredibly similar to him. His personality, his skills in combat, and the willingness to fight with his troops, unlike most seppy leaders, all scream Grievous to me. I'm pretty sure they just changed it because Grievous would probably do terribly in an underwater setting.

If it's not grey then im sorry but it goes in kids mentality zone. Something that adults don't like. Here the good guys are cute and innocent. No matter who they sent they always win, even kids... The bad guys are just evil with next to no good traits. They are always weaker than the protagonists, they always run, they embody all the negative traits you can actually see in a man - hubris, pride, cruelty. The Clone Wars show is riddled with double standards and hypocrisy. It doesn't really show to us why they fight and how they became like this - like Grievous or Dooku. Why do they think like that? Why do they fight against the Republic? They never say that in the show because the bad guys need to be bad. The Clone wars was a lot more compicated with good guys on both sides. Dooku was not a bad person but if you tell that to the guys who watched TCW they would not believe you at all. TCW is a Republic propaganda and honestly it disgusts me. Adventure time doesn't go political with wars and such. It's about a boy and his dog and yet even the bad guys like Marceline's father or Ice King are shown to have good sides that we can sympathise with. Can we do that with Dooku, Maul or Grievous? Nope. Adults like Adventure time for it's creativity and complexity in it's plot. Something that TCW totally lacks. ATLA also developed all of it's characters, unlike TCW. Azula was evil but at the same time competent making the protagonists run from her till the last episode. And yet she had good sides that we also saw. We could understand her to a degree and sympathise. Even her father, why did he start the war? Because in his eyes the Fire Nation is the most advanced and all would prosper under it's rule. ATLA did something that the TCW failed to do - to humanise the enemy. Fire nation people were portrayed as normal folk no different than the others. When it comes to writing TCW is a disgrace and how it shows the war makes it in my eyes a show for kids. Death or no death it doesn't change anything.

Maybe I’m just over-analyzing this, but, in most suicide bombing terrorist attacks, the bomber wearing the vest’s head is usually completely intact after the explosion, while the rest of body is blown apart or incinerated. After Riff exploded, his head was almost perfectly preserved. If they did that with this knowledge, then that’s pretty cool, I guess. But that’d be weird as hell, it could also be an allusion to Jaws 3D, which makes more sense

Those underwater detonations would've killed everyone in a fairly wide range. Concussive waves travel far quicker and much farther in the water. They also don't compress like in air, that's why dropping a single stick of dynamite in the river kills so many fish in such a wide area.
