The intro and the audience cheering gives me chills every single time

I still remember sitting in the theater on the night of the premiere and still not fully believing that I was seeing a new Star Wars movie until the music actually hit and then it really sunk in when I saw "Episode VII"
@UserRobot2158 жыл бұрын
Nick94956 Yep. The last one I was able to watch in theaters was Revenge of the Sith, I was like 6 back then. As soon as I saw in theaters the nostalgia did hit me.
@colin47588 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah that was totally me. I guess it hadn't really set in yet and then the opening crawl starts and I'm like "I'm watching a Star Wars movie that I've never seen before". It was also a big moment and event for me because it was the first Star Wars movie I ever saw in theaters.

It doesn’t matter whether or not you end up liking the Star Wars film you’re seeing in theatres. There is nothing that can replicate the experience and shared anticipation you get with the opening crawl. It’s exhilirating and so special every single time.

The iconic opening crawl....... one of the absolute icons of the SW franchise with one of the best music ever heard in a movie. The opening crawl is really just art, everything is orchestrtated, like how the music starts as the icon of star wars appears, its so perfect for such an iconic franchise
@maxeisenhardt88008 жыл бұрын
SW is the franchise that has the most iconic, epic and exhilarating opening of all time and yet, LucasFilm could not include it for Rogue One. Damn it. I'd understand if it was for the (unnecessary) Han Solo spin-off, but for a story that demands some context such as Rogue One, it really needs an opening crawl. Heck, that kind of reactions is one of the things that makes SW so great. I don't want to have that missing from a SW film.
@matthewk49128 жыл бұрын
Rogue One is a Star Wars film that's not in the main episodic Saga. The Saga will reserve that special, very core Star Wars feeling.
@JPQFilms8 жыл бұрын
Max Eisenhardt In about a year they'll have a crawl. ;)
@780d48 жыл бұрын
Matthew Kang It needed the crawl, out of all the SW movies Rogue One was the most needing a crawl. Not for us die hard fans but for the casual viewer. Can you imagine how lost some people would have been?
@Vossen2028 жыл бұрын
I think seeing Jyn as a child and her family is a pretty good crawl if you're just looking at the story of Rogue One and beyond. Also, as you've mentioned, Disney are currently producing a Han Solo movie, so I think it has its reason.

Ah, yes. A Long time ago, the last Star Wars movie was The Clone Wars, a vile piece of dreck that made the other 3 prequels look like The Empire Strikes Back in comparison. Rather than retain the iconic theme and opening crawl, Clone Wars chose to do an awful remix of the theme, and the crawl was replaced by a WW2-esque narrator. To say fans were furious would be an understatement, and it served as a prelude to the disaster that was to follow. 7 years later, The Force Awakens comes out. Fans went in skeptical, and quite rightfully so; they had been burned four times before, and they went in with caution. The lights dimmed, the curtain went up, and the projector rolled. The iconic 'Long Time Ago In a Galaxy Far Away' card showed on the screen and faded out, leading to... _The iconic theme song blaring in all of its John Williams-composed glory for the first time since 2005, with the logo fully intact, busting on the screen._ And seconds later, that oh-so glorious opening crawl begins to roll, leaving little doubt that we were in good hands and that Star Wars was *BACK!*
@ameen29477 жыл бұрын
And tomorrow Star Wars will be back in theaters, with The Last Jedi!
@NebLleb7 жыл бұрын
And from the looks of things... It might be the best one out of the Disney era. Screw the haters. Oh, and regarding Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I'm not kidding about it being a 'vile piece of dreck'.The plot is about _saving Jabba's son,_ which makes ZERO sense in context of the original six-film run (*especially* Return of the Jedi) and is extremely jarring after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the character designs look like Winx Club rejects, the humour, dialogue and writing in general is cringe-worthy, continuity is shat on (Anakin gets a teenage apprentice, something that was NEVER alluded to in the originals, prequels, or the legends canon up to that point), the music is terrible, some of the characters manage to *one-up* Jar Jar Binks in terms of annoyance, and like I said, NOT EVEN THE THEME AND OPENING CRAWL ARE SAFE! See what I mean when I say it makes the other 3 prequels look like Empire in comparison?
