Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a LucasArts action-adventure video game and part of the The Force Unleashed project. It was initially developed for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 consoles and on the iOS, second-generation N-Gage, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and Java-equipped mobile phone handhelds.[1]
The game was released in North America on September 16, 2008, in Australia and Southeast Asia on September 17, and in Europe on September 19. LucasArts released downloadable content for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.[2] An Ultimate Sith Edition of the game, containing new and all previously released expanded content, was released in November 2009,[3] which also came out on Mac OS and Microsoft Windows.
The project bridges the first two Star Wars trilogies, acting as an origin story for both the united Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Civil War depicted in the Original Trilogy. The game introduces a new protagonist, "Starkiller", as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, who is tasked with hunting down Jedi while killing rebels and Imperials alike in order to hide his existence from the Emperor, but soon starts to slowly redeem himself to the light side of the Force.
Reviews offered fairly positive response, praising The Force Unleashed for its compelling story, robust physics, impressive art and soundtrack, while some more negative reviews cited frustrating gameplay. Despite this, the game was a bestseller in the United States and Australia, with over one million copies sold its debut month. As of February 2010, the game has sold over seven million copies, and it is the fastest-selling Star Wars video game.[4] A sequel, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, was released in October 2010.[5]
he Force Unleashed is a third-person action game in which the player's character's weapons are the Force and a lightsaber.[6] Developers treated the main character's lightsaber like another Force power, and wanted to ensure "something visceral and cool" happened with each button-push.[6] The game has a combo system for stringing lightsaber attacks and for combining lightsaber attacks with Force powers.[6] Experience points earned by killing enemies and finding artifacts can be used to increase Starkiller's powers and traits.[7] The gameplay is intended to be easy to learn; the development team included "horrible" gamers to help ensure the game's accessibility.[8] Players can casually run and gun through the game, but the game rewards those who take a stealthy, more tactical approach.[8] The game includes enemies that are easy to overcome; game difficulty arises from presenting these enemies in large numbers that can wear down the player's character.[9] Additionally, enemies learn from the player's character's attacks; using the same attack on different characters can sometimes lead to the player's character doing less damage.[10] The enemies, which number over 50, have various strengths and weaknesses; developers faced the difficulty of effectively placing them throughout the game's varied environments.

This is one of the most beautiful areas in video game history. I remember when I first played it. Really magical. I loved the atmosphere, and I wish it would've inspired more game makers. Can you imagine how awesome Dark Souls 3 would look if they added giant-ass flowers and mushrooms everywhere? Dark Souls 3 is already beautiful as it is.

I love the opening cutscene of this level. Galen is silently doing maintenance on his lightsaber, and it feels so serene. Like this is one of the rarest moments of peace he has in his life, and it's always cut short. I love that scene. Almost as if Vader's trying to keep him from thinking. In the Wii version of this level, Starkiller say something to Shaak Ti about the Dark Side that implies he's internally afraid to resist it which is why he sides with it. Purely out of fear. Sadly, this is what Maris eventually did to herself.

What’s even worse for Maris is that not only did she turn from the light to the dark, but mentally, she likely went down a similar route as Kazdan Paratus, being driven mentally insane by loneliness, after her battle with Galen.

@@RedCommunistDragon I heard somewhere that she was to have a larger role in the supposed Third game, which would have been interesting. But the thing is, she and Galen are alike before they met, but he turned rejected the Dark and embraced the Light. Maris just ran away. It's amazing Really. Compassion is a better motivator for change than anything the Dark Side had to offer him. Unfortunatley, Maris didn't get that arc that he did.

@@nickthepick8043 I’m very curious to see how she would’ve worked in a third game. I can imagine Maris being somewhere in between a morally grey Jedi like Mace Windu and a Dark Jedi similar to Kylo Ren (if you consider him a Dark Jedi). From what I’m aware, Maris around the Jedi Purge was known to be overconfident and… hot headed. With her being a survivalist and probably not in the right state of mind, Maris would most certainly be extremely selfish. In both the PS2 and Wii versions of TFU (unsure about the later versions) there was an Imperial ship within the encampment about a miles walk away (which might I add, was in the same direction Maris was headed in after facing Galen) so it’s possible she could’ve stolen that and flown off Felucia.

Иван Кокаев PC version is slightly better and you can play with an Xbox controller. PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are pretty much the same. I would advise getting the ultimate sith edition for the extra DLC.
