There is nothing bold about this film. It´s a poorly executed amalgamation of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, to the point where entire set pieces get redone. The worst thing the movie does is preserve JJ Abrams beloved mystery boxes, which results in no developments regarding Rey, Kylo or Snoke. Instead he gives Luke an arc, which is not really appropriate considering he is supposed to be a supporting character at this point of the story.

It bothers me to no end that this is the ONLY movie of the entire Skywalker Saga that doesn't have a lightsaber duel in it. Ryan Johnson did this subversion of the lightsaber duel in the saga through the bullshit interaction between Kylo and Luke at the film's climax, and knowing that pisses me off even more.

It's the only movie I've seen in theatres in my life, where I wanted to walk out. I remember I went with my brother and family friend, and after 15 mins I was like "let's leave, this is so bad." It literally felt like everything we loved about star wars was being thrown away and destroyed, literally like Luke did.

Like or hate Rian Johnson, he accomplished what he set out to do. He said he didn't want to just create another movie people would watch and never talk about again. He wanted to create something that people either saw as the worst thing ever or the best thing ever, just as long as people talked about it. And at the end of the day that's what I personally want from a movie. I'll never forget the days the leaks were coming out, and even the weeks following its release where I stayed up well into the early mornings just to see everybody arguing nonstop online. It was a real you-had-to-be-there moment and it's insane how ripples from that time is still having effects on the internet today.

My biggest problem was Luke (I know big surprise). But in eps 4-6 he showed that he never gives up, would drop anything for the people he cared about, and most of all, when Vader only had a tiny shred of light left, Luke fought for that light and the good in Vader. But he saw some darkness in Ben (kylo) and he almost strikes him down for it? Luke wouldn't do that. On top of completely giving up on everyone and everything after that. That's not Luke, that's some old random hermit.

Star Wars has always been a vehicle to convey themes and messages that people can use in the real world. George Lucas explained that his trilogies were about generations, younger people growing up and stepping into adult hood. Having Luke fail it conveys the most powerful message of them all namely, learning from your mistakes. Just the fact that the legend Luke Skywalker can fail and that he still has things to learn, speaks to me. The importance of myth isn't to sell action figures, it's to inspire newer generations. Luke Skywalker's is a story about hope. How one may search for it, lose it, and become a symbol for it. Luke in the end of TLJ completed his story when he sacrificed himself to save the resistance and became a symbol of hope. It may not be your Luke, but it is my Luke. He's someone you can relate to. I can't relate to an infallible hero who doesn't have moments of weaknesses. I think you're diminishing the situation when you say he saw 'some darkness' in Ben. What Luke saw in his vision is up for anyone to interpret. But we know that it must've been so terrifying that he by pure instinct tried to do what our Luke Skywalker would do, try save everyone he loved. You realize that his weakness has always been, when people threatening his loved ones (see Luke in throne room or Luke trying to leave Dagobah in ESB). His failure is the same as his father, who also tried to change the future but instead ended up causing it. Since he couldn't live up to the galaxy's (and the fans') huge expectations it made him question the jedi and his own legend. Luke's philosophy is also very understandable from what we've learned from the prequels. The jedi were flawed.

@@Yoda-wf6bu I can see a lot of your points. But what I think frustrates a lot of people about Like is that his actions in the OT are almost contradicted in TLJ. Yeah, in ANH, he was pretty “infallible” in that, he’s more supposed to be a generic placeholder for the audience as the protagonist, and and character development was subtle. But in Empire, they started a much more obvious arc of him learning that keeping a level head and being patient are better ways to truly defeat you enemy, best examples being the Cloud City fight and the throne room in ROTJ. While in the NT, Luke becoming disillusioned isn’t necessarily a bad arc, but the way it’s handled is what a lot of people are annoyed by. What I feel they could’ve done was have him go into “exile” as a way to find a way to stop Snoke and Kylo, learning things in the Jedi temple to make him feel that way, and Rey coming in and reteaching him the lessons he’s already learned that the fight still is worth it and they just have to switch tactics. Instead, (and I believe he implies if not outright states his) he literally just went there to die after one failure. That’s the problem. Of course, your interpretation is valid, I’m just sharing mine.

@@KopeMusic079It's a cool alternative story that Luke's purpose on the island is to prepare for battle. Though, it was already stated in TFA by Han, that Luke left because he took the blame for the creation of Kylo Ren, so it doesn't really work.. TLJ is a great example why opinions on movies are subjective. If you think it was executed poorly, then fair enough. Personally I don't think Luke's actions in the OT are contracted in TLJ, since he's doing what he thinks is the right thing. He truly believes that the jedi is the cause of all the problems and their return will only bring more misery to the galaxy. His story is a parallell to the moment on Dagobah, when Yoda and Obi-wan tries to convince Luke to stay and finish his training for the greater good, instead of helping his friends. It's also in a way similar to the line (but in another context) he says in ROTJ, "I'm endangering the mission I shouldn't have come." He thinks that his presence is dangerous. Also can't deny the similarities with his father Anakin. They both tried to change a horrible future, but it only made them lose themselves in the process. Obviously more so for Anakin who took it so far he committed genocide. While Luke on the other hand after he ignited the lightsaber, thought the wisest thing he could do was to do nothing to change the future. I think it makes sense that Luke begins to question his own legend. The galaxy and the fans sees him as an infallible hero, but the truth is - Luke has never been this legend since he has always had flaws. Luke was convinced there was light in the most hated man in the galaxy, yet he instantly tapped into the dark side and tried to mercilessly kill Vader the moment Leia was threatened. He even tried to strike Sidious right after he saw that the rebels fell into their trap. Luke always tries to do the right thing, but his tendency to act on impulse to save the ones he loves, is his greatest flaw. And that was exposed in TLJ. Luke's realization that the importance of legend is to inspire others and to give hope, I find so freaking powerful that I get goosebumps :3. As said in my previous comment, I interpret Luke's character as a story of hope. How one can search for it, lose it, and become a symbol for it. When I see Luke entering the battle on Crait, I don't simply see him as a ghost. I see him as the literal embodiment of hope itself and living up to the legend everyone saw him as. I think the best way to show respect to a character which such great legacy, is to give them a meaningful story that conveys a powerful message. To deny them character complexity and growth is the biggest disrespect for me.

@Purple EmeraldIt's not that Luke wasn't a human in the originals. It's that the idealized version of Luke, the legend and myth that the galaxy and the fans believed in wasn't human. You are not very bright are you?
@Yoda-wf6bu
@Yoda-wf6bu 2 жыл бұрын
@Purple Emerald How can you deny that fans had extremely high expectations on Luke? They create their own fantasies of what Luke is, and say things like "Luke is always optimistic," "Luke would never be affected over dark visions," "Jedi don't give up," or "Jedi don't act on impulse." They treat the jedi as idealized beings that are basically incapable of failing and have a personality that are unchangeable. They don't treat them as humans, with traits of not always being optimistic or immune to temptation. Nor are they incapable of acting on impulse. Hence when someone say they like Luke in TLJ because he's "human" it means they liked that writers didn't make him one sided character that is overpowered and instead embraced the flawed side of him. It's really not so hard to get. And not only is your statement wrong in the fanbase, it's also wrong in the story of the sequels. Everyone in the resistance thought finding Luke would solve all their problems. E.g. see the quote from Poe in TFA; "Well, because of you, now we have a chance (said in the context of holding the map to Ahch-to), and Rey saying in TLJ, "that old Legend of Luke Skywalker that you hate so much, I believed in it." The story itself makes a clear distinction between the legend and the individual of Luke Skywalker. One that the fans and the galaxy expected to see, and one that is human.

This movie man. I remember reading a tweet of a guy who brought his mother to see The Last Jedi. He said his mother cried because she was angry about how Luke Skywalker was portrayed. I agree with a lot if not everything you said. One of my biggest gripes is I wish Finn was able to use the lightsaber to make his fight with Phasma have more symbolism (breaking away from his past life with the weapon of a Jedi). Oh boy. This movie is the weirdest 2nd act of all time. When you look back on movies like Godfather part 2 or Dark Knight or Spiderman 2, they all delve into the characters. 2nd acts tend to be the ones where it's the darkest for the characters. TLJ was not that. It instead did nothing and I think Rian expected people to praise it for doing nothing in the 2nd act. You can do new things but there's a reason the 3 act structure is a thing. My biggest problem with TLJ is that RJ failed to make a compelling villain. Kylo was inferior to Rey, so when they killed Snoke, we had a story where the villain was weaker than the hero. And Rey had two chances to take down Kylo: First when she woke up after the duel and the second after rescuing the "resistance", Kylo was alone on the ground, she only needed to go fight him. And we are shown that Rey does not want to fight. She gives Kylo the silent treatment as if they were a couple having an argument. Everyone that died between Episodes 8 and 9 was because Rey chose not to act. There's also the problem with Finn. The momment they introduced Rose, Finn lost his free will. He was not allowed to do anything unless Rose would allow it.

"Kylo was inferior to Rey" How did you come up with this conclusion? What in TLJ made Rey look stronger than Kylo? ..That Rey woke up before Kylo did? If anything TLJ shows Kylo being leagues stronger than her, seeing he's fighting 3 guards while Rey is struggling with only one in the throne room.

@@Yoda-wf6bu the fact that Rey defeated him in TFA. "But he was weakened by Chewbacca's crossbow" then why not have him defeat her regardless, with her barely escaping with her life, to show how powerful he really is and how far she still has to go? The hero defeating the villain symbolizes that they have achieved their external goal of becoming stronger and this is generally after they have encountered each other for the first time where the hero was defeated - it gives them a goal to work towards. If the hero defeats the villain on their first attempt, as Rey did, what do they have to work towards? How is the villain supposed to be intimidating or taken seriously as a threat? (and before you say it, NO, Kylo kidnapping Rey in the forest earlier doesn't count at all because she hadn't yet awakened her powers) This isn't a satire like One Punch Man which intentionally breaks conventions for the sake of comedy, this is Star Wars which, despite having moments of comedy, has always followed a semi serious to completely serious tone.

@@justoneguy2487 we're talking about TLJ here. Read his comment and read my reply..... I didn't even like TFA for all of its cheesy conveniences. But Rey beating Kylo didn't bother me a lot, because Kylo was indeed a threat. Even after he was shot by a bowcaster that makes stormtroopers explode into the air. If you rewatch the scenes, Kylo is overpowering both Finn and Rey for the big portion of the fight. It's not until the very end that Rey goes full light-side mode, like Obi-wan in TPM after Qui gon jinn died, that she starts to overpower Kylo. "The hero defeating the villain symbolizes that they have achieved their external goal of becoming stronger and this is generally after they have encountered each other for the first time where the hero was defeated" Look, all stories doesn't need to be written the same way, and after the same formula. It would be very boring if that were the case. These movies wants to tell a story of a hero and a villain that are equals in the force. Darkness rises, and light to meet it. That's not to say that Kylo is not stronger than Rey. I mean it's so obvious Kylo is far more skilled dualist and more knowledgeable about the force than Rey is. If they were up to a duel when Kylo isn't severely injured, then Kylo would've def won everytime against Rey, just like we see in TROS (if not for Leia had intervened).

@@Yoda-wf6bu "We're talking about TLJ - not TFA" THAT RIGHT THERE! That's the problem with TLJ and its fans like you - refusing to acknowledge that it's part of a trilogy and thus needs to follow through with what's been established in the previous film and set up stuff for the next film. TFA made the stupid mistake of Kylo defeating Rey, it was TLJ's job to correct that by blatantly demonstrating how large the gap between them was and yet it didn't do that. Don't compare Rey to TPM Obi-Wan - Obi-Wan used his brain to outsmart Maul, Rey simply overpowered Kylo. "Not all stories need to follow the same formula otherwise it would be boring" I know, that's why I mentioned One Punch Man, which has a writer that actually knows what he's doing. The sequel trilogy didn't have that luxury when it tried to break conventions and look how poorly it turned out with fans and general audiences. You cannot look at the backlash and divide these movies, TLJ in particular, had and tell me with a straight face that it is objectively well-written and half the audience "Just doesn't get it". When a significant portion of your audience doesn't like your story, you have done something wrong as a writer. A character having conflict isn't some simple convention that can just be broken - it is a critical aspect of storytelling and building audience sympathy for them as they struggle to reach their goals. If you're going break it by making them overpowered, you as the writer need to find other ways to compensate in order to make the character compelling. Without Kylo being the big powerful obstacle for her to overcome, what does Rey have that makes her a compelling character? The mystery of her parents? Well no, JJ basically said that was irrelevant in TFA when Maz told her they wouldn't be coming back for her only for Rian to reintroduce the mystery box before subverting expectations by saying they were nobody. JJ retconned that with Palpatine in TRoS of course but that was such a dogshit reveal that it meant nothing. What else? She wants to be a Jedi. Why? What is her motivation? Luke answered Obi-Wan's call and wanted out of moisture farming; Anakin answered Qui-Gon's call, wanted out of slavery and wanted to free his mother; what motivates Rey to be a Jedi other than "They're cool legends"? What else? She wants to help bring Kylo to the light. Why? Why does she so quickly gain sympathy for the murderer of Han Solo, the first father figure she ever had, just days after he killed him? Why does she trust him so easily? "Because she's a good person" what a bare-boned, boring, clichéd character motivation.

I understand everybody's criticism with Luke's portrayal, but I always liked it. You can see in the original trilogy that he's always been flawed, he was saved more than he saved others, and he's always had problems with his emotions in the dark side. When he saw this pattern of the Jedi becoming blind to the dark side and letting it rise up within them and killing them all thought for one second he could end it and then felt so terrible with himself that either he shouldn't have done it at all and maybe that meant he wasn't meant to be a teacher if he could give in to the dark side, or maybe he should have went through with it and he could have saved everyone. But at what cost? To luke, this was all his fault because just like with Vader threatening his sister, he lost it. He gave in to the dark side in that moment. Only this time he couldn't take it back. You couldn't fix it. And yes he was wrong to hide away but when people are in such depression and distress their minds aren't in the right place and they make the wrong decisions and think the wrong things. It happened to me when my dad died I thought to distance myself from everyone hide.

I'll give the movie credit for one thing: It looks pretty. Seriously the visuals in this film are stunning. The throne room scene with Snoke, the showdown between Luke and Kylo Ren, even the scene with Luke fading while looking at the sun, there are beautiful scenes. But that's just it...The Last Jedi is eye candy. It's sugar. But there is no substance and nutrition here. There were 3 questions we needed answered here: 1. Who is Rey and why is she so powerful? (You don't defeat the grandson of the chosen one who trained under Luke when you're nobody, even if he was injured by Chewie's blaster and unable to tap fully into the Force because of the emotional turmoil from killing his dad. Even Kylo at 50% of his power should mop the floor with a nobody.) 2. Who is Snoke? (Even if they went toward the Palpatine direction and Snoke being an experiment of the Sith to act as a puppet leader, that's fine, but set it up. Gives us clue and hints. Don't build him up to be some big bad, when he's a red herring.) 3. Why did Luke go in search of the first Jedi temple? Here's the thing with Luke. Him doing what he did to Kylo was not the problem. If anything, It tracks with Luke (Let me explain) since he did the same thing on a way worse scale against Vader a.k.a the whole reason why he wasn't helping either as an x-wing pilot against the second Death Star. Or be on the ground level with Han and Leia helping them out. Until Palpatine of all people pointed out what he was doing. To me, Luke's weakness is threatening his family and friends, even if you are his family and or friend.. He'll let his anger get the better of him (He is Anakin's son after all) But no, the real issue is Ryan gave half an explanation as to why he left everything and everyone. And it's really not that hard of a fix. After what happened with Klyo, If you had him go face Snoke and lose to the point to were he barely escaped with his life. And then telepathically as Luke was flying away to regroup Snoke says "If you show your face in this conflict again. I will kill your Nephew on the spot and every one you love. Go somewhere in the far reaches of space and die." That would have been way more interesting seeing Luke in this Rock in a Hard Place. Not being able to do anything while there's nothing he can do! And then the films message can be "In times of hard ship, You do what you can." Plus, it would make Snoke a WWAAYYY bigger threat. It's really dumb Ryan only gave half an explanation and reason. Also, I don't even hate this movie. It's just not good writing when they could have focused more on that then the other stupid shit. Cheers Danny :)

To me, it's a way more interesting story to see what can make a fully trained jedi master question his own believes. A religion that he has lived his entire life by. It's so satisfying to hear him actually criticizing the jedi and exposing their flaws from what we've learned from the prequels. I really liked that Snoke got killed because it made Kylo Ren the central antagonist. It's something new and original. Your fix doesn't really work since it's already explained to us in The Force Awakens by Han, that Luke took the blame for the creation of Kylo Ren. Also, learning from your mistakes is a way powerful message than "In times of hard ship, You do what you can" :3

When I went to watch this movie, I was super hyped. The Force Awakens to me was a really good first step into a new trilogy, so this one had me hyped. And after watching it, I did think it was a good movie, but I hated immediately what they did to Luke. I explained to my girlfriend that isn’t who Luke is. He wouldn’t do that. And that was one of the major points that turned me away from the movie. Then over the years as more and more opinions came out I grew to hate this movie in fact hate the whole trilogy, despite Force Awakens doing nothing wrong. And the way Rian defended it in fact seemingly laughing about it, daring to be challenged, really made me hate this particular movie even more. And that is what made me decide the sequel trilogy is a Disney Star Wars tale, not a Star Wars tale. It is a shame as Force Awakens gave it potential. And The Rise Of Skywalker I went in ready for a joke and it truly was one. Truly selling out.

Two words: Admiral Akbar. Remember he was in this movie? Oh right, you don't, because they didn't even bother to tell you that was him in the background until after he died. I certainly agree with Danny that a professional reviewer should be more articulate than to say "it's woke" and call it a day. But at the same time, I think the reason people can get away with that is because we all basically know that people who make agenda movies do not care if they're actually making a quality product. Still, that's a casual conversation, not a review. Kylo may be among the more intriguing characters of the sequel trilogy, but I never once believed he was a strong enough character to carry the weight of the trilogy as the main villain. It just wasn't going to happen, and that's why killing Snoke, while good for shock value, was a mistake for the trilogy. The ONE THING I liked about this movie, which Ep9 undid, was Rey being nobody. I actually did like the idea that the Force, being a living thing with a will of its own, could simply choose someone of its own accord. You can't completely ignore the Twitter/media drama, either. It wasn't just Rian; every trade article and seemingly every public LucasFilm employee made it clear that you either liked this movie or you were a bigot. That, above all, is why this movie had the impact that it did. I don't even think this is the worst Star Wars movie, I think Attack Of The Clones is, but it was the most damaging to the franchise because it laid bare LucasFilm's hostility towards the audience (a mistake they repeated when they fired Gina Carano).

Looking back at this movie 5 years later. After all the hating and stupidity that was this movie. I can give my opinion that won't involve trashing this movie. Okay so my critique comes from the scene were the Jedi books were burnt. Like when the hell were these books created. And that got me thinking. The star wars universe has pretty much expanded the lore of the jedi that establishing a new concept will always come with backlash. And years later it's been proven a good amount of times. For example, rogue one was a movie that didn't use the typical jedi plotline. It instead focused on a group of characters that live in the universe of star wars and can show different sides of the rebellion and empire which we haven't seen as often. And its been reinforced more by the the show Andor. Now the mandalorian showed the side of the bounty hunters that was established by Bobba fett. And granted they messed up with the book of bobba fett, but it only proves the point that if they were to focus on the world of star wars instead of already established characters and themes, then it leads to something better.

Tbf, we have zero idea how huge the Disney Star Wars timeline is, especially since they seem to want to have their cake and eat it too when it comes to having all the benefits, fan goodwill, prestige, and creative framework of the much-regarded Old Republic era of the timeline as canon without it actually BEING canon. That's noteworthy when it comes to Disney Star Wars. That there is no bedrock foundation to what they do. It is incredibly wafer-thin.

Now, I feel like Ryan Johnson tried to make another Ep. 7 and shit all over JJ Abrams movie, because nothing got explained, except for Rey’s, Kylo’s and Luke’s background (which JJ should have done). Kylo becoming the leader of the First Order was an awesome idea, but it was too soon. The Luke-Yoda dynamic was great, but the scene should have been a flashback, part of Lukes process of trying to be a teacher, not something central to Luke’s role in the movie. I have a lot of problems with this movie, but I want to address the so-called "SJW" messages. Let's just look at the war profiteers on Canto Bight. I don't really mind that idea in itself (heck, it's actually fairly realistic) and being critical of capitalism isn't even that new to Star Wars. Just look at the Separatists in the Clone Wars era. Mega cooperations (Trade Federation, Banking Clan etc.) with private armies who threaten to overthrow the government. In light of this, some greedy bastards making a buck on the war is not that far fetched. Where it goes wrong is how the message is delivered. We have Rose delivering this preachy monologue while many of the casino guests are shaking their fists at the camera and even when Finn and Rose land on the planet we literally see some wealthy alien twirl his mustache like a cartoon villain. All right, we get it! In general, the movie is annoyingly blatant with its messages. There are quite a few scenes, like the above, where the characters seem to be at least partially talking to the audience to make sure that they caught on to what the movie is trying to say. That just doesn't feel like organic dialogue, in my opinion.

But I didn’t absolutely hate it. Even the Rashomon-like retelling of Luke and Ben's story from different points of view was so much more like Lucas Star Wars vy drawing on Kurosawa and being about real film influences, not JJ's TV level shit. TLJ haters always talk about how RJ made Luke a coward. The fuck are you talking about? Dude literally dies trying to help everyone while also teaching his nephew one last lesson about the fuliity of the dark side. The Luke stuff is beautiful and you're all nuts for not appreciating it. Luke in the original EU was the most boring character and by the time if the New Jedi Order I was so bored with any scene he was in. TLJ gave Luke an intense emotional journey that was fit for cinema. It's 35 years later and the dude is now making some of the sorts of mistakes that Obi and Yoda made. He goes into exile like they did.

They completely chang3d the direction of Finn in the last 2 movies to the point that the first movie makes zero sense in comparison u can clearly tell there's a relationship brewing with Finn and Ray... along with the fact that he would learn to become a jedi to help Ray fight kilo but nope they basically made him fodder and fed red Ray to kilo as a love interest... smh shit was very weird

It's funny; when I got out of TLJ I was really confused. I remember deluding myself into thinking I liked it until I heard others, Mauler and friends around me, attack it and then I realized just how bad TLJ is. This is a movie that deserves to be studied in film school(alongside the Hero's journey) on how NOT to make a follow up. The movie is made worse when you realize that A) there was no plan for the Sequels and that Rian only ever cared about commenting on the meta of SWs rather than actually giving a continuation. Not that TFA was great, but dear lord; it's better than TLJ. There are a lot of things I could go after but for me; what the film did to Luke Skywalker was unforgivably bad. What's funny is whenever TLJ defenders attack me their go to argument is that I wanted a more heroic Luke? First off, what's wrong with that? The guy was a hero and can still be a hero. And secondly, I am FINE with Luke being a fallen hero trope. Yeah, I think concept wise; it is a neat idea. The execution is dog crap. Compare Luke Skywalker to the likes of Unforgiven, Logan, Peter B Parker, Samurai Jack in Season five; it's night and day. All those characters, in spite of their hardships, still kept fighting. They never ever gave up. Luke Skywalker like a B gave up and worse was willing to abandon his sister. BS. That's straight up character assassination. And don't even get me started on how he handled Kylo Ren. All in all, when I saw Luke butchered; I knew that I could never love SWs the same way ever again. It was creatively dead. You will get the hits here and there, but TLJ splintered the franchise in such a way that I argue we'll be seeing the effects of it for decades over. And also screw Rian Johnson. The guy purposefully did this stuff to divide audiences and has a huge case of Dunning Krueger effect. You want good subversion? Watch Kung Fu panda 1. Or Play KOTOR2.

Attitude matters. Chris Avellone was likewise not a hardcore Star Wars fan when he came aboard to make KOTOR 2, but he did his research and told a masterfully crafted deconstruction of the Star Wars mythos.
@Avarn388

@@saberiandream316 Chris Avellone is a good writer and also clearly was considerate when doing stuff in KOTOR2 because good subversion what it should do is that it should ask questions and actually propose a solution where it fixes the problems and ends up making the situation better. KOTOR2 does that while also respecting what came before it. Rian Johnson can say till his face is blue that he was a fan of SWs but I fail to see that with TLJ. It comes off as a hate letter; someone who maliciously hated Luke and wanted to destroy his legacy while also propping the newer characters. And I'm not for that period. Seriously, compare TLJ Luke to Peter B Parker. They are ironically very similar but at least Peter B Parker still kept fighting; was willing to teach Miles and wasn't made to be a complete idiot. He learned to trust Miles and fundamentally both became stronger as a result of their time together.

Still sucks I don't give a Fuck what anyone says I still can't sit through it without being bothered... They should have at least stuck with the plan that JJ laid out in Episode 7. It's incredible how bad Disney Fucked up and didn't tackle the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy with a plan other than to subvert expectation and let directors do what they want to do for the sake of change and to get a reaction out of fans. I'll still never forget walking out of the theater with my friends and dropping to my knees and screaming nooooooooooo!!! Yes it was an impression of Darth Vader from Revenge of The Sith but it was exactly how I felt. Me and my friends are girlfriends had never left the theater like that in silence we didn't know what the Fuck to think. I couldn't believe Luke didn't train Rey she attacked him he died like a bitch Snoke was dead and was still nobody Luke didn't want to be a Jedi anymore it was just so devastated if you don't understand it that's fine but after so many years to see this happen to your favorite character was terrible especially after all the hype from Episode 7. Once again I stick with what I always say you're out of your mind if you didn't enjoy Episode 7 after having no Star Wars for so many years and seeing the original characters back on the big screen. It had a good plan they should have stuck with it Fuck Rian Johnson
