The Last Jedi still sucks. I confirmed it recently after doing a rewatch. The way the film treated Luke Skywalker is unforgivable. Rey and Kylo are almost comical this time around. Finn is a straight up joke. Rose Tico is the worst. This whole film is a dumpster fire of poor decisions. That said, it looks really nice. So that's something. The force is wrong with this one. Let's roast it!

Had to mention they killed off Admiral Ackbar like he was nothing. Rebels being idiots, getting themselves killed for nothing, Finn and Rose going on the stupid sidequest which ended up killing even MORE rebels. Luke utterly destroyed. Screw this movie.

What is the video where he describes in great and hilarious detail about how he wants to see Luke fighting? Adam literally goes into like a five minute tangent and you can tell he was really into it and then he remembers how the last jedi actually went, and the disappointment on his face was perfect comedic timing. I haven’t seen the video since around the time the last Jedi came out, I’ve tried to find it but I can’t. It just always stuck with me, it was one of the good things that came out of the last Jedi lol.

A great example of having no idea wtf they're doing AND terrible management of money is the casino planet shot, that was done here in Dubrovnik, Croatia. They brought all 3 main actors half way around the world, brought 100's of workers and crew, stopped the tourist traffic in one of the most famous forts in the world (since GOT) to show for a few hours and 99% of that could of been shot in ANY basic studio and you see 0.3 seconds of the actual city that could off been done, again with ANYTHING, CGI, small scale, in any studio what so ever. It was an absolute waist of time, money and effort.

The moment Leia came back from DYING IN THE VACUUM OF SPACE, my jaw dropped and I KNEW this was gonna be bad. This movie singlehandedly bungled the entire trilogy, and by extension, the franchise itself. Objectively bad movie.

Episodes 7-9 are all a slap and spit in the face for fans. Han and Luke are miserable broken losers that basically commit suicide. Not having Luke, Han and Leia share screentime is one of the biggest failures in movie history. Also, bringing Palpatine back pretty much erases what Luke accomplished in Return of the Jedi and Vader's turn back into Anakin before he dies. Rey Palpatine steals the Skywalker name. All the real Skywalkers are dead and a Palpatine wins. Thanks Disney.

Great review! This movie is one of the worst things that has ever happened to me. My birthday is December 15th… MY BIRTHDAY!! I went to the theater, ready to enjoy the new Star Wars movie. I was shocked by the sadism for which I was tricked into purchasing a ticket ON MY BIRTHDAY. When we walked out, my wife asked me, “What was your favorite part?”… I didn’t even know what to say I was so shocked, I just said “I can’t talk about it right now” and we just went home. It’s now over 6 years later and I’m still mad about it. How could so much money and talent and time, with so many people involved, employees, actors, cast members, caterers, etc… how can so much effort be put into destroying something so sacred without anyone intervening…….. on. my. birthday.

I live on the west coast and had a good friend who lived in New York. We're both life long Star Wars fans. I booked a trip months in advance to meet him in New York City so we could watch Last Jedi on opening night. I booked a hotel, got plane tickets, etc. I was pissed off walking out of the theater and had to force myself back into a semi good mood so that I didn't piss on my friend's experience since he seemed to have enjoyed it. That was a very expensive trip to end up watching a hot pile of diarrhea being dumped onto the audience.

I like how Poe is meters from the explosion in the landing bay, where ships are blowing up everywhere and he literally is blasted in the air from the force of the explosion, with shrapnel flying all around him and he's perfectly fine. And immediately after everyone in the landing bay dies we get a funny BB8 moment. I hate this movie.

Lucasfilm/ Darth Kennedy for some reason have this hard on to take these iconic male characters like Luke, Han, Indy, Obi-Wan, Willow and turn them into miserable broken losers that can't get the job done because there's a British female that can tell that white guys how they suck and do everything better. Luke went from a great role model for young boys that would never give up to a coward that committed suicide. I watched The Last Jedi once in theaters and I felt like I was leaving a funeral after it was over. It was so depressing, and I never even watched episode 9.

I saw this in theaters and it was the last time I watched a Star Wars movie. Puppet Yoda was awesome, same with Snoke fight, but other than that, I don't remember much I liked. They messed up Luke so bad, I interpreted it as his mental decay, but iunno, I miss Luke! The Luke I know would've pasteurized that milk before drinking, I thought maybe they were doing a Yoda thing, when Yoda played the hermit old man in the woods to throw Luke's expectations off, but no, Luke is just an old grumpy cynic. His only hobby is milking, they could've at least given him a cool hobby to do on that planet, no? Soap stone sculpting? Tattooist? Berry Farmer! ANYTHING!!!

Are you saying if we exchanged every female for a male character but with the same roles, the same plot and dialogue, TLJ will be fixed to you? This narrative is lazy and wrong. "strong female leads", no $hit! if you become a Jedi, a general, or a resistance fighter, you tend to be strong; strength is baked in, but because your perspective is skewed, being female is top of mind to you, kina like conservatives reducing gay relationships to sex so that the mere visibility a gay relationshipis sexualizing. They don't do it to straight relationships and you don't do it to strong male leads even when they're supposed to be normal but have super strength, memory, endurance, healing, moral compass. What I find hilarious is prior to the release of this movie, the critics hailed this used toilet paper of a movie as "best movie since Empire Strikes Back" which is a bold statement. And reportedly, Rian Johnson did such a great job that he was awarded his own Star Wars trilogy. Shills defended this movie and imdb couldn't rate this movie down no matter how many 1 scores the people were giving it. I was still in my bubble where I thought Disney could make a good film. Now Disney Star Wars is flushed trash.

I was pretty hyped. I had read that JJ Abrams liked the script so much he had wished to direct the movie. Absolute bs. Several shill reviewers had me hyped as well. Then I watched this opening weekend with my kids. We all hated it. Even my 11 year old son acknowledged that the force was used wrong in this movie. Highlights of The Last Jedi. 1 - After The First Order commits the biggest genocide in movie history, the next movie starts with a prank phone call of the three stooges who lead The First Order. 2 - Luke/Han/Leia's net gain from beating Vader was to train one kid/Jedi who lived, and Kylo Ren helps kill trillions after Luke runs off to PTSD island. 3 - Admiral Purple Hair is a hero for waiting until 99.99% are dead before suicide ramming. Five minutes later, Rose suicide rams Finn to teach him suicide ramming is wrong. Five minutes later, Luke suicides of tiredness to do what Finn was trying to do. 4 - They walk past child slavery in a casino to save a my-little-space pony. WORTH IT.

I was one of those people that left the theatre confused and unsatisfied, like leaving a party after being slapped in the face by a trusted old friend. It took me a week or two to begin hating the film and realising that it was made by people that actually hate Star Wars. It wasn't something I expected, so I was dumbfounded for a while. I stopped watching any new Star Wars after that, as I still have my despecialized editions of the original films to enjoy again and again.

By saving Leia in that silly Mary Poppins moment, they threw away any chance of making Ben an interesting and dynamic character. He couldve abandoned the New Order and started working against them. I mean, he just watched the New Order kill his mother. That wouldve been very interesting. I wouldve gladly watched this arc for Kylo Ren more than the Rose and Finn subplot. Heck, they couldve implied that Kylo is causing the New Order so much grief that they dont even bother with the rebels.

I had heard rumours of course before going to see this disaster in the theatre, when Jake Soywalker threw Anakins saber over his shoulder I actually felt cold and horror and outrage I had paid to see it, it was the last money Disney ever got out of me. By the end of the film I was numb with the exception of the laugh out loud moment of Leia Poppins flying through space.

The jump the shark moment of TLJ for me was when they killed Snoke. They never even explained who this guy was and he was like the whole "big bad" of these sequels. When they did that, I immediately just realized, "what are these films even about?" The whole First Order, Snoke, there was no plan at all, never explained it and it was clear when they did that these movies were a trainwreck. When the central plot was exposed as having no point, all the other little things and thin characters were also then seen for what it was too. At least the prequels had a coherent plot. You could say, "the acting and dialog is terrible but I at least want to see where this goes." When they killed Snoke, right there, it became apparent there was no where to go, the whole thing was just a pointless disaster.

It is very clear in retrospect the reviewers made an assumption, that was clearly wrong, that these movies were "going somewhere", that there was a plan, and the subversion of the Last Jedi was going to pay off. With ROS, they realized that nope, there was no plan and Rian Johnson just went completely off the reservation and it was a trainwreck.

Watching interviews with Mark Hamill before the release put me off even buying a ticket for this. He's not very good at hiding his disdain. Then I saw the trailer, and it looked so fantastic from the trailer I couldn't resist buying a ticket (would have been the first Star Wars released in my lifetime I didn't go to see). Don't trust trailers anymore thanks to that experience. Only went to see TROS because I was hoping Abrams might actually salvage something, but he made it worse. I remember, before TLJ, actually quite enjoying TFA. Never watched TFA again after TLJ, because it made me think of TLJ, and I'd rather not if I can help it. Save for watching the occasional video sh***ing on it.

That's because ep7 didn't kill revenue. The paper trail leads all the way straight to the week after TLJ's release. People were good with ep7 and that's why the first week of ep8 was good...until people saw it and abandoned the franchise.

I loved this movie when I saw it in the theater! I my was surprising and thrilling and I had no idea where it was going. It wasn’t until I had the time to process what had happened and gotten over my Stockholm Syndrome that I came to grips with reality. My beloved Star Wars was just destroyed. I didn’t want to believe it and even since then, they have tried to give us hope. It has taken me to Ahsoka to finally admit that there is no hope of redemption for Star Wars. But idols must be destroyed to move forward.

I thought TLJ was ok until about two days after I saw it, and I thought to myself, where is force ghost Obi Wan? Obi Wan didn’t give up after his pupil Anakin turned to the dark side…if TLJ had any consistency with the prior films, Obi Wan would’ve reminded Luke of this history to convince Luke not to give up either

Liked it except for the entire Canto Bight sequence. Everything about that plot line was terrible. Rose is the Jar Jar of this film. The Leia flying thing was also cringy.

Long long time ago in a far away galaxy I read the Timothy Zahn trilogy. So yes I hated the movies.
