Does anyone know how much money this took to make? I'm curious why they don't make movies in this style. Its the perfect blend of realism and fantastical combat. The stuff they do here would be impossible or excessively difficult to do well in live action, but it looks realistic enough to be believable (compared to, for example, anime). I'd play to watch a movie made this way.

The usage of plugins in this video is very intense. I think this kind of video can be done quite easely if few people are involved. and i do not think that it'll be too expensive. Check out "the Tool" teaser. The guy who made it worked for 1 year alone.

This was probably made by "Blur" studios. Also responsible for Halo 2 anniversary re-imagined cutscenes. They said that the 54 minutes of visual data which was high fidelity took 9 months to make. If they made a movie in this style, it'd look much better and probably take about 3 to 5 years with all the performance capture and post-production.

Did anybody else like how Malgus just walked out of the temple in slowmotion, puts his hood over his head, with the temple burning and crumbling behind him like an OG? Its like he had a look on his face that said "yea I jacked up your city, the temple, and killed most of the Jedi inside the temple in the process! What you gonna do about it?" Maybe its just me.

I just realized how much this foreshadows Revenge Of The Sith. Think about it, "You were decieved, and now your Republic shall fall." Doesn't that sound me lke something Darth Sidious would have said to Yoda in their duel. With Palpatine's dark powers clouding the Force vision of the Jedi, and this deception ultimately led to the end of the Republic. Also, as the Republic ends, the Jedi Temple is sacked, like in the trailer. Wow

I think everyone would love to see the Old Republic in live action, but if that ever happens I hope they do it better than this, of course I love this video and it give me chills, but let's face it, the ships are the same of the empire of Lord Sidious, the troopers look like stormtroopers (or clone troopers), I think they would need to revisit the style

Thomas Leveque Actually, that's false. They only declared everything AFTER ROTJ non-canon, just to set up the storyline, So KOTOR, all the books, games, even the stuff based in episodes 1-6 is safe. If it's Post-Endor, it's no longer canon

Just because the jedi that malgus kills has a green lightsaber, doesn't make him a consular. I think he's a gaurdian because of the armor he's wearing and the way he fights, he uses his lightsaber way too much to be a consular

I believe I read somewhere that he was the Battlemaster of the Coruscant Temple. Battlemaster meaning that he was in charge of lightsaber instruction and security within the Jedi Temple. However, since wookiepedia doesn't support that currently... it's safe to assume Ven Zallow was a noteworthy Jedi Guardian and General during the Cold War. Killing Ven Zallow and the sacking of Coruscant was the highlight of Malgus' career. And he wouldn't have made a big deal out of killing him if he was your average Jedi Guardian.

This is what I love about Star Wars. It's not like your usual movie, where the good guys eventually win. Instead, it shows just how powerful the Sith really are and that they have defeated the jedi multiple times.

Why does SWTOR use knight for guardian, knight is really just a rank after padawan all consulars are knights and guardians are knights according to the rest of the universe, but tor uses knight to mean agressive, battle ready Jedi, which really is the guardian, sentinel is in the middle. Maybe it was just an era thing.

They would have had to invent another Jedi rank if they had done it like that. It was odd enough that they added Sage and Shadow. MMO's tend to change things from the original. Look at what they did with Elder Scrolls and races.

Green lightsaber, it was a Consular, Guardians have blue sabers.. And a Guardian and Juggernaut are virtually the same.. Either way Malgus is pretty awesome.

If you follow the trailers chronologically, The Return has Satele Shan as a padawan and Malgus as an apprentice. Hope is next with Malgus as a Sith Lord and Satele as a Jedi Knight. Hope is where Malgus gets beaten to the point that he needed that respirator in Deceived. Satele is a Jedi Master on Alderaan at a Peace Summit in the events of Deceived. Ven Zallow is that main Jedi Master in the trailer if Deceived. Malgus is revealed with his new respirator. That masked man is not Revan

I like how these trailers mix elements from the prequels and sequels. The sith leader in this one is basically Darth Vader without his helmet on and the jedi leader is using Yoda's fighting style (but more realistically). Not that I'm saying he's a carbon copy or anything, I really like it actually, nobody in the prequels has that 'Vader Factor' and he brings some of it back.

Infusion with the Dark Side makes your eyes glow yellow. Some talented Sith were able to mask their eyes from appearing yellow. Tyranus was able to turn his Sith eyes back to normal by being in a state of mental peace. Sidious was just so badass at Force Concealment that hiding his eyes was just "standard issue". I mean: hide your Sith identity from 12 Jedi Masters not 5 feet in front of you. That's a pretty skilled Force ability.

I know. I read the FOTJ series that introduced the Lost Sith of Kesh full of sith and I know about the One Sith under Darth Krayt. What I was making the point from a week ago was that it didn't fit under the rule of two followed for a 1000 years from Bane to Palpatine where there would be no more than two Sith at any given time, thus there would be no sith present at the sacking.

Rule of Two (what you described) didn't start until Darth Bane like 2000 some odd years after the TOR timeline. Back in the day there was tons of sith and jedi.

Also, there is no Sith Pureblood face option with both "horns" at the eyes AND "tentacles" at the mouth, although Lord Vindican from the Return trailer has that. Also, all the species with hair can have grey hair and thus look old, except Sith Pureblood, which can only have dark hair. Also, you can make your character look extremely old, but the loading screens and NPCs keep calling your character young. Also, Ven Zallow, who dies 10 years before the game is on the cover. :P

This four minute trailer is everything I want from Star wars. A gruesome and captivating war, light vs dark, lasers and lightsabers,badass armor and robes, a story that I just want to see over and over...I mean come on!! The Sith are defeated and sent into hiding; the jedi and Republic think it is over. It is not .The sith have been waiting, biding their time and growing stronger. Finally, they return centuries later with vengeance at heart, and the ancient Galactic Republic faces destruction.
