Yeah, for a series where elaborate, drawn out light sabers fling fest are such common place, it's kinda genius of the writer to exercises some restraints and take it out in a less is more kinda way. It shows off Senya versatility as a fighter; the fight doesn't get bland with so many glowing stick floating around, allowing the viewer to focus on Senya martial arts prowess through movement; and makes the light saber finish move all the more satisfying and epic.

I actually feel sorry for Vaylin. Her mother Senya was taken away from her, and then Valkorian sent her to Nathema, a place that is dead in the Force, and subjected to at least a decade of torture in order to contain her power which eventually turned her to the Dark Side. And then betraying and turning against the one person who cared for her more than anything. This is what Star Wars needs to be, and not what we have gotten over the past 3 years.

The only part that touched me is when Chewbacca crumbled when everyone he loved was dead. If you watch some small cinematic videos like ''Old Warrior''(Warcraft), ''Annie Origins''(League of Legends) or ''Honor and Glory''(Overwatch), you'll have similar feelings. All of them have a heart breaking moment really well made. I can't watch Old Warrior without crying.

I still think the game would have done better as a Single Player game with offline and online functions for players if they wanted to experience certain multiplayer challenges. The game serves more of a Single player game to begin with anyways and was a fun replayable game due to each class have different story, until they changed it to having the same story with different dialogue and interactions. The whole focus on it being a MMO really prevented it from showing what it could have accomplished more as a single player focus game over a MMO type game.

The bond that Senya had to Vaylin is incredible. Vaylin taken away from her mother, the way she looked back scared when she was escorted by Valkorion and the way she was "trained" to turn her into a numb monster is incredible. Senya is probably the most heartbroken mother in the Star Wars universe, the Eternal twins and Vaylin taken away from her. The most painful part must be in the end of the trailer, the way Senya realized that it was her daughter. Grown up, nothing but darkness.

Honestly, I prefer he MMO aspect, as PvP is fun, interaction with people and dungeons is great, and it doesn't affect the incredible single player story whatsoever. The problem is they marketed it too much like an MMO while not promoting the amazing single player experience they offered. The MMO experience, like Operations, just couldn't compete with something like Warcraft raids which have been perfected over 10 years, and thus they've gone in a more single player aspect with a persistent world.

Still goosebumps all over. I mean, the Twins cinematic was already fantastic, but Vaylins tragic story still gets me the most. The Twins had some "freedom" in growing up (of course manipulated by Valkorion), but Vaylin was just tampered into a lunatic killing machine. Of course Valkorion knew neither of the twins, not even Arcann, do possess this potential for raw power, madness and destruction. The look on her mothers face makes me tear up every time. The few seconds she needs to realize who the attacker is, but then the sheer look of horror, that her beloved daughter is finally beyond any hope of redemption, its still heartbreaking.

Why I state all this? Just to give you some background information for why I state it's a stupid defense that a full CGI movie would be too expensive or wouldn't be worth it. This is Star Wars, not some random new property that'd have to go through the trouble of getting fans in the first place. Nowadays, one million per minute is absolutely CHEAP compared to "blockbuster" live-action movies. The same excuses no longer hold up, and truly haven't done so for quite some time. A full-CGI Star Wars movie absolutely would make a killing at the box office. It's what many fans have been clamoring for, for years. I, personally, would like to see a movie centered around Bane. A story that'd educate the casual Star Wars fan and give them a glimpse to other stories in the universe.

nah im going to have to disagree with you there, yes it getting a little old that the main characters are skywalkers, but episode 7 has new characters, and even they weren't very interesting, the girl is the most interesting to me, I think what differentiates the movies "now" from the games, is the writing, episode 7 was written horribly, the plot was predictable, and omg the fact that the empire built another death star type weapon that could be destroyed in a similar fashion as the old ones, was the stupidest thing I have ever seen, and the whole rebel alliance fighting back agaibt the empire is done already, they need to come up with something new, and thatz where SWTOR succeeds, because they are coming uo with a new plot, and the writing like the fight scene in this trailer on tgat rainy landing pad bridge was gold, however this can be done with skywalker family too, itz just that movie writers get too excited that they are making a new movie, make it all cheery and happy which is fine to have a little comedy, but they forget about the seriousness, and they don't make anything remeberable and unique, and take the badassness out of it, or dont put enough. It doesn't have the run time enough for anything to go wrong. It's easy to make a sub 10min string of scenes look good, another thing altogether to create a full production feature.

I disagree. One of the hardest things to achieve well in any art form is simplicity. Any cook can throw together 20 flavors to make something taste decent, but it takes a master chef to make a really excellent plain vanilla.

This is hands down of the best cinematic game trailers to ever exist. The tragic story of Vaylin and Senya makes me tear up sometimes. Really wish Disney would consider doing a full length film or tv show based around the Eternal Throne....there is not enough Vaylin content and I would like there to be!

Checking in in 2021. Still absolutely amazing. The visuals are great for this, but the music is even better, especially during the "rescue" sequence. One of my favorite pieces of Star Wars media of all time.

Captain Chaos In a way it add depth to the character but lets not forget Luke started the same way and then changed. Anakin on the other hand, started like that but didn't change. So in a way I liked his character, I just wished he didn't remove his helmet and saved that for Episode IX where he will most likely turn good.

I still believe the whole Fallen Empire story is being trampled by being part of this MMO. Fallen Empire could have been it's own series, And hell, it could have been an ACTUAL successor to Knights of the Old Republic. Seriously. Because they don't have a clue about not throwing good money after bad, or more pertinently to your observation, not throwing good CREATIVITY, after bad. They're obsessively (irritatingly) committed to their little cash cow sandbox, MMOld Republic. I hate it, you hate it, we all miss the REAL Kotor. Fingers crossed we get a new game from the Force Awakened Era, that'd be pretty awesome if it's done in the Kotor style. I mean fuck sake, I TRIED to play Old Republic, like THREE times, and every time, I mean, EVERY time, it screwed up my account and I couldn't access again. So, when I heard they fixed it I just said no thanks, and I've watched a few Let's Plays instead. Screw you MMO, you boring lifeless shell of a game structure!!!

Agree. On the business end however I do understand them NEEDING to put all their effort on the game because they spent crazy amounts of money to get it made in the first place and they need it to make up for what they lost. (Which they shouldn't have, just make another KOTOR :\)

The reason why Bioware doesnt make any new games is because off disney. Disney will have to be part of the story group, with new cannon and all, and it will put a limit to the story bioware want to tell. The only way bioware can tell none canon stories is through KOTOR, so that is what they are doing.

Honestly, try out The Old Republic MMO. As far as MMOs go, it's pretty bad, but if you play it single player and do the story modes, it's essentially KOTOR 3 with some better combat mechanics.

I wouldn't call them "better" as no matter what I, at least, enjoy KotOR2 more and can sit down and play it for longer than an hour. Perhaps its the size of the worlds and the sheer number of gormless enemies you have to cut through to get to anything interesting. It's the same issue I have with Dragon Age: Inquisition, in making the world bigger they've made the gameplay issues more glaring. BioWare can write pretty well compared to a lot of other studios, especially when it comes to Star Wars, but they just suck at making combat satisfying. I think they have a lot more potential with RPGs than the WoW clones they seem to be making now. Hopefully ME:A is going to be good but I'm not exactly holding my breath with these guys anymore.

This whole trailer tells an amazing story with no dialogue(a few quick monologue moments, thats it). Down to the expression on her mothers face when she sees her brothers training in the arena and the horror when she sees Veylin as a Sith.

They had to take the playerbase into account, since it is an online-only game. I'd say that it's probably severe language + sexual themes when it comes to PVP, though. Finding clothes that cover properly seems problematic for many players.
